This is the bit from the nationwide site on withdrawing cash on the card:

    FlexPlus Debit Card
Example of a foreign cash withdrawal - outside the UK info
    Cash withdrawal amount €100
    €100 @ Visa Exchange Rate

Visa Exchange Rate on 4 June 2012 was €1=£0.807689. Shown on statement as £1=€1.238083
    £80.77
Non-Sterling Transaction Fee info No fee
Non-Sterling Cash Fee info No fee
    Cost to you £80.77

The bureau / ATM owner may also make a charge. For credit card cash withdrawals, you'll be charged interest at 'cash rates' from the date the transaction is posted to your account.

I am close to signing up to this and upgrading my existing Flexaccount...

This may be a completely daft question (apologies if this is the case), but has anyone applied for this as a new account (if they already have a Flexaccount) or have all upgraded the existing accounts. I am wondering if account number changes or anything like that and if direct debits are all ok.

Also, has anyone tried to download transactions into ms money from flexplus?

Finally, i read that history for the flexaccount goes after the upgrade. This is concerning because i download transactions into ms money (although i can of course do this just before the upgrade to minimise manual input) and makes me think it might be better to open up this as a new account?

    Many thanks.

If you upgrade the account, the acc number remains the same and all Direct Debits etc are transferred over too.

And yea, when you upgrade, your previous history before the upgrade will be removed from your online bank

All your statements will still be there. What more do you want history-wise?

When I opened my first Flex Direct account a few months ago. They were still asking me to send ID form as they said my ID could not be electronically verified.

As a matter of fact :
    - I am on electoral role register, as I could see it from my credit report. Also I have opened other bank accounts without having the same problem.

    - Prior to the opening of my first flex direct account I have been having flex account along with other saving products which are already several years with NW.

It is really annoying really as I needed to go the branch to do this. It seems that their department is not communicating each other or it could be that the account opening team are too lazy to do their own homework. so the easiest way is asking rather than checking it themselves.

Apart from that it is fine, as their product is top notch and hard to be beaten in term of interest by other banks. Their FP is superb arrive in less than one minute to other external accounts.

Moreover, they seems to value their existing customer by including any of their new product to the current customer.

Why would 'worldwide' not include USA?

Did you check out the Nationwide website?http://www.nationwide.co.uk/current_account/flexplus/insurances-and-account-benefits.htm

On all the travel insurance we have taken out it always asks if we want worldwide to include USA. The website just states worldwide, I just want to make sure its included.

Yes I have but it only says worldwide. This could mean it does but I want to make sure it covers USA.
