Hi all,
During the upgrade what happens with the flex account debit cards as i presume new ones are issued, is there a cross over where you dont have the use of a debit card?
Thanks:beer:0 -
None of my history was lost when I upgraded from a FlexAccount. You should talk to them, seems an error if you are unable to see your history
If I look on my statement tabs there is no prior history and the first Flexdirect transaction is a transfer from the old account. The PDF statement archive has all my previous statements in however.
As for debit cards, the old one works for 21 days after transfer which gives your new one time to arrive.0 -

I got the same with history information, and they confirmed thsi by message.
The old cards will remain active for up to 45 days, if you call them to confirm. As i am on holiday this week for 2 weeks and dont have my new cards yet, thus i phoned to explain the situation to them.0 -
Shame the extended warranty doesn't cover gaming consoles but you cant have it all i suppose:beer:0

I am interested in this account but the wife doesn't want to go with a breakdown company where she doesn't see their vans on the road.
Does anyone have any experience with them?
I think it looks like a good deal as we use mobile/travel insurance and breakdown cover. Just need to convince her.0 -

no experience calling them (breakdown) but why not call them? I found all the insurers approachable straightaway to discuss questions etc.0 -

AA and RAC have lots of vans you see on the road, but that could be because they are overrun with customers and struggle to meet demand.
You may not find vans of others because they don't have that many customers and so don't need so many.
So the unknown company might actually get to you quicker!0 -
It's not that we break down a lot. She just likes the idea of someone at the end of a phone, especially if the kids are with her.
Think I am going to go for it.0 -
I applied to upgrade from a flex account on Sun the 5th and the account apparently doesn't get upgraded until the next weekend after you apply so for me the 11th. The insurances start immediately on acceptance of the application though, so it is only the 3% interest and new cards and I would assume the withdrawal benefit that you have to wait for.
We got our new cards today. They look much better that my old card from 2010, but did take quite a while to show up.
However my reason for popping back to this thread is that I've noticed what I think is a mistake on the main site. If you use the tool on the site designed to compare card usage abroad it say it is an average card and cost the same to spend on the card as to withdraw cash. However on the nationwide site their card comparison shows that if you withdraw cash using the FlexPlus card then there is no load charged. Making it cheaper to withdraw cash and spend this than used the card for spending abroad.
copied from main site:
Nationwide Flex Plus Debit
This is a bog standard overseas spending card
Exchange Load: interest 2%
ATM Charge: £0
Spending Charge: None
Cash withdrawal: 0%
Key Info: Using it is not great, but not a disaster. It's far better to switch to a specialist card if you've time before going away. If you use it, there's no difference between withdrawing cash and spending.
This really is a bonus for me when using the account. You can get zero load spending on the select credit card, but now with FlexPlus card can get cash out abroad with zero fee and zero load:-)0
