Soulie - when are your results due? Hope everything is ok.

I presume/hope that I get the results this week when I see my consultant. Pretty nervous about it really which is why I have been quiet these past couple of weeks.

Beg - can't wait to see how you manage with Let's do wine. It's my next one to start when I finish DS1's military collage. I am doing it for my Dad's birthday as we are giving him a wine making kit which he wanted.

Really beautiful stitching being done by everyone. Some of it is so big and so intricate I don't know if I could ever have the courage to tackle something like that.

Soulie - hope the results are what you hope for. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Hopefully I might try and make a start later today (no promises :p:D).

I'm sure your Dad will love his wine themed pressie - great idea.

Rain expected here by lunchtime :(

FE - I had trouble removing the tacking thread when I tried to do gridlines so tend not to bother now :o
There was a discussion on this ages ago when I started czar, I think we were trying to grid black aida as the pens didn't work. The best solution I found although I never used it was fishing line or sulky silver has some good reviews. There's also this stuff called Easy-Count Guideline On BD I just did the outer edge so I could start on the top left corner.

    Hi ladies.

Mrsmp. Googled your car boot bargains, they are lovely! Look forward to seeing progress on them when you get started......not that I want to put you under any pressure to get started :D
Hope your cold is feeling better today and very nice progress on the Poppies.

BEG. Very nice update, she's looking fab. I too was going to vote for leaving the top blank :)

mos. Nice start, look forward to more update pics. As for your backache when stitching, do you use a frame and stand? If so it sounds like you might need to mess around with the height and angle until you find a setting you are comfortable with. Took me ages to set mine up so I have now marked on it with marker pen.
If you use a hoop or just hold it in your hand try propping pillows behind you so that you are more upright (I find old pillows off the bed are good for this as they would be binned so I sort of recycle them)
I find the more upright I can be when stitching, the better.

Erics Mum. Nice finds. I especially like the landscape one.

Ailsb. Welcome back, glad you had a nice holiday.

    Chicky. Nice progress pic.

    Louise. Welcome back! :)

    As for me.
Got a little stitching done yesterday but was desperate to get out and cut the lawns. At the weekend hubby used some 'feed, weed and mosskiller' on them and as expected the dandelions had a massive growth spurt then died so the lawns looked awful. While stitching it came over dull and the temp dropped quite a bit so I packed my stitching away and took advantage. Glad I got it done as it keeps raining this morning.

    URGENT ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE LADIES

Went to make a start on Lets Do Wine this afternoon. On trying to find the centre of the fabric I have found that the material does not appear to be square. I have checked the threads along each edge and the material is cut to the thread correctly - so I then measured diagonally - one way measures 620mm and the other measures 600 mm. Obviously the material is a diamond and not a rectangle - the threads are not crossing at 180 degrees. When this is finished I want to make it into a cushion. If I sew it up will it look as though I have sewn the material in incorrectly and that the wine bottle looks 'drunk'.

DH says I should get back onto the supplier (fleabay) or I was wondering is it something that is peculiar with evenweave.

I'm fed up before I even bloomin started
