RE: the dodgy fabric, I seem to be having a run of it too. I had a leftover piece of zweigart iridescent aida that I was going to make into a birth sampler, it was a even design with boxes top and bottom but they didn't seem to line up even though they were on the same thread of fabric, when folded it didn't go to the edges either. So I scrapped that and bought some dmc iridescent aida, cut it to size, I noticed it hadn't been cut straight so cut it properly and when folded this piece also doesn't line up  I'm using it regardless and hoping to stretch it when wet as suggested, failing that i'll stick it in shape in the frame :rotfl: Oh I scrapped the tatty ted idea and found this cute design clicky started it tonight just done the little teddy :)

Love this design. I like it more than your original choice of TT

Just a quickie as I know you would all like to know, just got back from seeing the Doctor, (my appointment was for 8.10am - or in other words, stupid o'clock lol), no MRI results but she asked me a load of questions and she seems to think that the chemo is working, but I suppose I've got to wait for the MRI results to be sure but I suppose if it wasn't working or if it had spread then they would have had my results back quicker.

that sounds pretty positive Soulie. really pleased for you.

I would love to stitch for a magazine but i wouldn't be able to guarentee finishing it in time.

Beg I would complain to the seller as it's not your fault the evenweave isn't right. Maybe they have a faulty batch and don't know so it may be worth telling them from that respect.

Soulie glad things went ok today but hope you get the results soon to affirm the nurses thoughts.

Winnie hope you manage some stitching time this evening.

nmm Love the pattern you have chosen. Teddy looks so snuggly.

Fe I definately couldn't stitch for a magazine. I am still fairly novice at it and I am hopeless with deadlines. I have missed one birthday this year and I already feel under pressure now for July even though its 2 months away. Goodness knows what I will be like if I don't get my xmas cards started soon.:rotfl:

Finished DS's 'going into the military' collage which he asked for to have in his room so just to back, iron and place in the frame I have got already and then need to start Let's do Wine.

FOS - love your finished items, particularly the quilt. Remids me to do mine.

FE - I couldnt stitch for a magazine a. I'm no good at deadlines, b. I'm probably not neat enough and c. I get bored too quickly.

Soulie - thanks for updating us, MrsMP has said exactly what I was thinking.

Didn't manage any stitching last night I was shattered, thjnk its the weekend catching up on me. Doubt I'll get any done tonight either as it's cubs tonight. Have promised myself I'll definitely do some tomorrow.

Well I continue to be amazed/baffled by the weather. I have got home this evening, made a hot water bottle, put the heating on ( +1) and stuck my thick jumper on. Was it my imagination that on Monday afternoon I was sat out in the sun drinking rose wine/enjoying a bbq.. ??

It has been interesting reading your replies about whether you would like to stitch for a magazine. Everyone seems to be in the "no" camp. I don't think I would like to stitch for a magazine either. It would take the enjoyment out of stitching for me, knowing it was not something I had picked and that there was a deadline. I imagine the mags have quite high standards too....

So I would like to think I will do some stitching this evening although I fear this is unlikely. I'm looking forward to Secret Eaters at 8pm. I might try to do some stitching during this as the ads/the faff annoy me.

So I thought I would set another poll. When it comes to buying stash, whats important? Is it speed of delivery (sew and so for example) or price (eg a cross town stitching). Would you wait to receive something (say a week + ) if you knew it would cost you less and is loyalty important? Do you feel you would spend more/stick with one retailer if they offered an incentive - i.e. points/regular discount e-mails etc?
