I know this isn't cross stitch related but have any of you read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn ?? I made a special trip to the library to collect today (after waiting weeks) as I thought with my quiet weekend I might try and read it but the book was nowhere to be found on the reserve shelf or elsewhere that the librarian could see. Now my original reservation has disappeared and it looks like I've gone to the back of the queue (I'm person 24 of 24 currently waiting for the book!!) (although this may change overnight as the nice librarian said he would try to put me to the top of the queue).
There seems to be a big fuss about this book and I wonder whether the hype is worth it. Its typical that I've been keeping my eye in Mr T for the book and today I spot it (2 books for £7 promotion)
I'm sorely tempted to buy it for my kindle as its only £2.80 and I did save a few pounds by not buying pizza tonight. When perusing the 2 for £7 promotion, I was also tempted by the Rose Petal Beach by Dorothy Koomson but when I had a nose in the book, it seemed to jump back and forth on the same page which I thought might get annoying.
In cross stitch news, my Dictionary/fun with technology kit arrived today so I'm looking forward to starting that. I had hoped it would arrive in time for the bank holiday weekend but its here now and it will do battle along with the other projects I have in mind for this weekend :j0 -

Hugs winnie - sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly hope you feel better soon. Sorry to hear about your husband's grandad.
FOS - love the butterfly one. I am seriously tempted to do the coffee one when I have completed the lets wine one for my dad.
FE - no haven't read either I'm afraid. Hope you enjoy your stitching this weekend no matter what you decide to stitch. Re stash I have a seller on ebay for my threads and beads who is both really quick in sending my stuff and who is also very good value. I haven't had to buy material as I have such a lot in my stash.
Mrs Moneypenny - hope your son's first gig goes well.
No stitching for me tonight as my hayfever seems to be playing up and I have really itchy eyes. Made a start on Let's wine last night so it's off the starters blocks lol.0 -

I downloaded a free sample of Gone Girl. I do this a lot. Have decided I will wait until it appears in the charity shops as all best sellers do
There are 2 free books in the Kindle store in the Rose Petal Beach series so perhaps you could try those before spending ?0
