I've been in town today and spotted a new cross stitch mag :j

Its called Cute Cross Stitch and here is my review !
    (nb) its by future publishing.
Price £3.99 (priced just about right)
    Free kit: Snuggles the bear.

    Rosebud swing (all our yesterdays)

this is cute - (two AOY characters) sat on a swing. the flower effect is clever - is this beads or french knots i wonder? (hmmm its french knots!)

    Pot luck
a cute somebunny to love design but something that has been in a magazine before. (two bunnies in flowerpots kissing each other) with two daisies meeting in the middle above the two kissing bunnies

    Bear essentials.
This is cute but not sure - not enough colour for me (bunnies are pretty much white with a browny coloured background), each bunny has a brown heart shaped patch on their tummy, like wise, brown bits on their paws and ears. Not sure how I like this design has been finished - its been made with two pockets and hung on a coat hanger.

    Waterbabies
May be stitch these individually? but don't like the design as a whole.

    .

I picked this up as well. Unfortunately 4 of the designs (the ones above) have been in other magazines and I have them already, so it's not a magazine I would buy again, but for someone who doesn't have as many charts and likes cute designs then it's worth a go :)

That said, I might make the tooth fairy pillow - DD will be 6 this year and will beat the gummy toothless stage at some point in the next 18 months :rotfl:

I've been sorting out a stash of mags given to me last year by someone who has ditched cross stitch for papercrafts. They are a hotch-potch of titles and dates going back to 1999 !

Anyway there's a lot I don't want to keep but I don't know what to do with them. Would charity shops like them - would they sell ? They are too heavy for EBay unless I listed them singly or for collection only. Or I could put them in the recycling box.

    Ideas would be welcome please.

    Linda xx

(Otherwise if any of you would like them and could collect from me in Chelmsford Essex you are more than welcome.)

    So

sorry not caught up on everyones posts.

just wanted to recommend collect+ .

I just sold 4 batches of magazines. You drop them at a collect+ (https://www.collect+.co.uk) store - generally a newsagent so you can post all day saturday and sunday (paying postage online with paypal.

    They take up to 10kg.
    Up to 2kg - £3.99
    up to 5kg - £4.99
    up to 10kg - £6.99

it's a fully tracked to door service (suppsed to be 3-5 days but in the last 5 times I've used then they have delivered next working day).

    Hope that helps.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Why don't you type up a list and then advertise on the cross stitcher (magazine) notice board. (saying something like send sae for list of mags) I don't think they charge for this so you would save ebay fees although not paypal if people paid you that way. Would be a bit of a faff but might be worth it?

I will say though if you have this mag.... please would you save for me :j

    Here's the cover...

    photo_zps215eff0e.jpg

There's a bookmark of a frog leaping, a 'DIY dad' one with tools surrounding the words and a whale one with 'forever blowing bubbles' above the picture. Not a great choice for bookmarks...
There's quite a few smaller coaster/card size designs. Or was it only bookmarks you were after?

No I don't like being ripped off and I doubt I would buy the magazine again. Although I didn't see any "next month" pages or subscription offers so I wonder if its a punt by them?

    Hi all

Managed to get some more stitching done on 'Let's wine' on Saturday but not last night as I felt too tired to do it, so I started the keyring that was free with one of the mags a few weeks ago as its fairly straight forward.

Caroline - love the coca cola picture. It will be fabulous when it's finished. Such a lot of work.

Sk00bie - what a beautiful wedding picture. It looks like you had a wonderful day.

43teabags - welcome to the thread. Hope you enjoy the malvern show.

beg - don't know if you have started 'Let's Wine' yet but have you noticed the deliberate spelling mistake?? no matter what I tried on Saturday night I could not get Australia to fit in right spelt correctly - guess that's why she spelled it wrong:D`

this is the Military pics I completed for DS1 last week.

DS1 'gig' went really well, he got an encore, and a couple nearly had an argument as the man said it was time to go and she refused till DS had finished singing, i guessed she was a fan when he started singing and she turned round and gave the people on the able behind her a right telling off. she said ive come to listen to him sing not you chatter. LOL hopefully its the start of something good for him.

Chicky, thank you so much for this, I had no idea they existed. Just had a quick peek and there is a collection point less than a mile from me, so it's perfect.

    Hi ladies.

Winnie. Hope you feel better soon and sorry to hear about hubbys Grandad.

    43teabags. Hi and Welcome!

Skoobie. Welcome back! The wedding pics are lovely, you looked stunning!

Ailsb. Look forward to seeing an update pic.

Caroline. Nice update pic, it's coming along great.

    Maisie. Nice military finish.

As for me it's update time.

Here's where I was last time,
    SAM_1395.jpg

and here's where I am now,
    SAM_1407.jpg

The design shows 2 white french knots for the eyes and several black french knots in the fluffy white edges of Santas hat and cuffs. I have tried to do a couple and failed miserably!
I'll practice some more but if I can't get the hang of it after watching a saved youtube video I'll resort to seed beads.
I was surprised yesterday when popping into Hobbycraft that they sell small boxes of seed beads for just 99p each. There will be way more than I actually need but for £2 I'm not complaining.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
