thank for good wishes for DS gig ill let you know on monday how it goes

    hope all are well.

Thank you thats very kind but I succumbed and bought it for my kindle. Did you find any cross stitch bargains? I visited two charity shops today and no cross stitch so my find yesterday was like finding a needle in a haystack ! I'm not sure why cross stitch finds in charity shops are few and far between?

I've been in town today and spotted a new cross stitch mag :j

Its called Cute Cross Stitch and here is my review !
    (nb) its by future publishing.
Price £3.99 (priced just about right)
    Free kit: Snuggles the bear.
Hmmm not sure about this. The card mount (if you can call it that) is pretty naff - very cheap papery feel to it and with the daft words " just for you with love and snuggles" on the bottom and a pic of a grey bear.

The stiched bear reminds me of the tatty ted designs but of course is nothing like tatty ted. The thread also feels cheap....

First impressions. Wasn't sure about mag and in plastic bag so no chance to nose properly in shop. Thought I would take a punt at £3.99. cover appealing (just about) but free kit did put me off (looks naff)

    Forever friends design

this is cute. another one to add to my collection, no doubt never to be stitched!

    Rosebud swing (all our yesterdays)

this is cute - (two AOY characters) sat on a swing. the flower effect is clever - is this beads or french knots i wonder? (hmmm its french knots!)

    Fun of the farmyard.

These are cute although they look familiar.... Cute farmyard alphabet too :)

    Fairy sparkle

tooth fairy pillows. cute but not for me.

    Pot luck

a cute somebunny to love design but something that has been in a magazine before. (two bunnies in flowerpots kissing each other) with two daisies meeting in the middle above the two kissing bunnies

    Playful puss
these arec ute but not sure they are cute enough/cat like enough for me to stitch.

    Bear essentials.

This is cute but not sure - not enough colour for me (bunnies are pretty much white with a browny coloured background), each bunny has a brown heart shaped patch on their tummy, like wise, brown bits on their paws and ears. Not sure how I like this design has been finished - its been made with two pockets and hung on a coat hanger.

    Baby blue
cute cat design but do not like enough to stitch. Reminds me of something I have already seen in cross stitch collection.

    Welcome baby

not sure I like the colours used although the design does appeal (a tiny bit)

    Gardening friends

    I do like these.

    Advert for designer stitches

Spotted this mag the other week and had a nose and oh my what a rip of. £10 for a mag that is just a rehash of designs featured in cross stitcher.

    Waterbabies

May be stitch these individually? but don't like the design as a whole.

    Friends for life.

Like this but not sure I like enough to stitch. may be if it had been two cats and not a cat and a dog?

    animal alphabet
like this although not sure on the colours used.

    overall impressions
    ok but not brilliant.

It was a bit of a shock to come back to the UK weather after Vegas, but I'm used to it again now :rotfl:

It's been nice to catch up on all your posts and now I want to get stitching! But first I need to sort out all the wedding stuff that's taking over our room  As soon as that's done I can dig out my to-do list and see where I got up to.

In the meantime, happy stitching to you all!

Found a load of cross stitch kits at my local Cats charity shop, but they were all at least £5 each and I couldn't afford them. If there are any there after the beginning of next month though I might be able to squeeze a bit from the grocery budget and get one or two of them.

I'm still working on the yoshie panel. I'll do my best to get an update photo soon on it. It's wonderful to see everyone's updates!

Skoobie welcome back, the photo is lovely I'm glad all your hard work paid off and you had such a good time.

I've managed a few hours stitching and completed a flipper and a swirl. Took a photo beford I started and will take another after a week to show you what I've managed. I'm determined to finish it, every stitch is a pain in the proverbial.

I've been sorting out a stash of mags given to me last year by someone who has ditched cross stitch for papercrafts. They are a hotch-potch of titles and dates going back to 1999 !

Anyway there's a lot I don't want to keep but I don't know what to do with them. Would charity shops like them - would they sell ? They are too heavy for EBay unless I listed them singly or for collection only. Or I could put them in the recycling box.

    Ideas would be welcome please.

(Otherwise if any of you would like them and could collect from me in Chelmsford Essex you are more than welcome.)

    So

    So

Could you put them on Ebay in batches (not sure size of magazine) you would have to make sure they fit within Royal Mail's new guidelines!! Depending on size of them you could perhaps send a few together costing you £2.60 otherwise I am sure a charity shop would be more than grateful I know I always look out for them when I pop in!! If only I wasn't just over an hour from you!! Good luck whatever you decide!
