RE: the dodgy fabric, I seem to be having a run of it too. I had a leftover piece of zweigart iridescent aida that I was going to make into a birth sampler, it was a even design with boxes top and bottom but they didn't seem to line up even though they were on the same thread of fabric, when folded it didn't go to the edges either. So I scrapped that and bought some dmc iridescent aida, cut it to size, I noticed it hadn't been cut straight so cut it properly and when folded this piece also doesn't line up  I'm using it regardless and hoping to stretch it when wet as suggested, failing that i'll stick it in shape in the frame :rotfl: Oh I scrapped the tatty ted idea and found this cute design clicky started it tonight just done the little teddy :)

nmm - I thought I was doing something wrong when I couldn't get it to line up properly. Love the little teddy.

Cross Stitcher arrived today, if anyone wants the needle tin (it's the star design of the 2 available) then let me know.

If no one has snapped this up yet I would love it. Hubby has nicknamed our baby boy "Fingers" as he seems to be attracted to everything that we have...needles included....lol

Happy Thursday everyone. I would rather join the cat in hibernating today (with my stitching of course) but sadly not. I know they said the weather was about to turn bad again but I'm still surprised at the rain and wind that greets me this morning.

Hi Louise  picked up your stitching yet ?

ps poll for today - would you ever stitch for a magazine (for money of course!) (I wonder how much they pay) and would you only stitch designs you liked or stitch anything even if you hated it? What do you think the backs of these stitches are like (that we see in mags) :rotfl:

Its lovely and sunny here today. Might be able to squeeze some stitching in this evening hopefully.
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

I don't think I would be able to stitch for a mag FE - as soon as I have a deadline - things seems to go haywire. You've got me thinking now - I wonder what the back of all those pieces are like that are featured in the magazines. :D

Hope you manage some stitchy time tonight winnie.

Not too sure whether I will manage any myself today as I'm taking a friend for a hospital appointment this morning and then we are off to a different hospital with my Mum this afternoon. Why can't they make my life a bit easier and synchronize their appointments at the same hospital. I don't mind really - at least I'm about to take them.

Lovely to see you popping in Louise.

    Have a lovely day everyone

It's so lovely outside, perfect stitching weather; yet I'm stuck inside revising medical and family law - 14 days to go then I can stitch until the cows come home!

Good luck with your exams. I'm sure all your hard work will be worth it

Did a quick test of a custom frame for Czar, I want something like this I think he looks much better :)

    czar_custom_framed_zps7353329d.jpg

Ocemeer, for photobucket I copy the direct link, then in the reply box on mse click the yellow square with a mountain in it and paste the url there overwriting the http:// or copy the img url and paste into your reply. Either way works on MSE :) Oops forgot to say the links you need are in the box on the right called "links to share this photo".
Czar looks stunning in this custom frame and all your hard work deserves it. And it will be on display for years

Your work on the AOY is lovely. How generous of you to stitch it

Thanks for the quick replies Mrs. MP and FOS. Re-checked material and confirm that thread count is correct - 28 per inch in each direction. The fabric is Zweigart Ivory Brittney Evenweave and does have the orange strip along the edge. It would appear that it has been woven 'off square'.

Was wondering about dampening it and trying to pull it into shape.

    Thanks for your help.

I would ask for a refund. Sounds like you have been sold "seconds". Don't risk wasting precious stitching time ifmthemfabric isn't right. I can send you a piece from my stash What size you need? Pm me with your address and I'll pop it in the post
