Welcome back Ailsb. Glad you enjoyed your trip. We did Rome and Capri in the late 70's when we were much fitter. Did first week in Rome and then last week on Capri. We visited Pompeii - temps were in the low 100s (phew).

Hope you find your stitchy mojo soon. ;)

BEG - Warning - OFF TOPIC. It was mid 90's in Rome and high 80's in Pompei. We only had 1 night in Rome, we checked into hotel at about 1pm on Thursday and left there at 6pm on Friday. We managed to/do see the following: The Colosseum, Vatican Museum (including the Sistine Chapel), St Peters, we did a walking tour of Angels and Demons taking in Castle Sant Angelo, the Pantheon, Piazza Popolo, and Piazza Navona, we also visited the Spanish Steps and Trevi , Forum, Circus Maximus, Bocca Della Verita (the mouth of truth) and finally we clinbed the roof of St Peters. We managed to cram so much in we walked 14.5 miles on the Thursday and 11.5 miles on the Friday.

Friday evening we caught the train from Rome to Naples, the bus from Naples station to the airport where we picked a car up and drove down to Pompei. Saturday we climbed Vesuvius and visited the ruins at Pompei. Sunday we visited the Basilica at Pompei, Herculaneum and then drove the Amalfi coast from Salerno to Sorrento and back to Pomei.

Seeing this written down makes we realise why I was so tired and didn't manage any cross stitching. We had a fantastic time and now need to plan the next one.

Soulie - when are your results due? Hope everything is ok.

Just thought I'd mention the Technology kit is £19.99 with free postage from this ebay seller - i am VERY tempted.

(also £19.99 from another seller who is clearly a tax/ fee dodger as they have not registered as a business when they obviously are).

oh yes the boys are growing up far too fast. saw my boss pre-maternity leave last week and she asked how old they were. we talk to each other by email once a week so it doesn't seem like that long since she was my manager.

sleeping beauty is a proper beauty b_e_g. I'd leave the top bit blank too.

sorry nmm - only ever used aida. czar will look amazing framed like that.

Am stitching my pink sandy hook bug, coming together quite quickly but i only had 4 of the threads for it so ordered the others Friday and apparently they were dispatched today. pffft - yes I know it was a bank holiday weekend but I managed to post things (and i would assume as a business they have prepaid envelopes ready and don't need to go to the post office). Only cost me £3.30 for 6 new DMC threads with free postage tho so can't really complain considering how much it would have cost me to go to h0bbycraft.

DS1 has decided his afghan needs to be more then just superhero's so I need to gradually get some star wars/ indiana jones/ harry potter pixel people to add to it.

right gonna go stitch a bit more and try and post an update (not that you can really tell what it is yet).

WOW Ailsb - we did the Rome expreience you had in 14 days!!!!! Can't wait to go back in 2017 with the boys - but perhaps not in July/ August - it was rather warm when we went on our honeymoon.

Ailsb - WoW - you did cover a lot of ground :T

chicky - I always get impatient when waiting for threads. I seem to order over a weekend which I think makes it seem longer and there ALWAYS seems to be at least one colour 'to follow'

winnie - an hours good ;)

Just had a lovely bath and going to settle down to watch Apprentice.

    Hello everyone

Can't believe this 'new' thread is 32 pages long before I have first posted on it :o I got a little nudge on facebook (thank you) so headed over to catch up with everyone - hope you are all well.

I can't say I have been much of a stitcher in this last month or so. I have made a start on the Rennie Mackintosh 'Blue Roses' for a wedding in July, aside from that I have managed a few small card sized pieces but nothing like my usual output. Just haven't had the bug at all this year really. :(

I blame work and family. It was the first anniversary of my Dad a few weeks ago which probably hasn't helped my mood, plus I'm also doing extra volunteer work at the childrens' primary school and the number of teens in the youth group I work with has doubled in the past 6 months. Lovely to have them all, but it's a lot more work. Oh, and we have been doing the garden and getting set to decorate the living room. It's never ending :)

I get online and don't do much more than read facebook (I'm ashamed to say I'm a candy crush victim at the moment haha):rotfl:

I will make more of an effort to visit and stitch - that can be my May resolution :D I need to read back and see what everyone is working on as well :D
