I've finally caught up and as usual I can't remember who said what!

Soulie - Glad you're home again and coping with everything that's being thrown at you.

Sweetcarer - Fingers crossed for you and getting the new job. I always think its better to try and not manage something than live to regret it so well done for going for it.

Shelley - sorry to hear about your back. My DH suffers terribly with his since it went pop on him last year. Don't do what he did and just get on with things when you're a bit better. get as much physio as you can.

Thank you to whoever put the link up for Craftsellr at 3 for £1. I love this magazine but refuse to pay full price for it. Since Issue 1 I've generally managed to get most issues on some sort of offer. My current offer finishes on issue 25 so I was very happy that they just let me tag 3 more onto the end of that for the £1! :j

Breadnall (I think) - sorry to hear your craft fair wasn't too good. I do at least 3 a month and they really do vary. Some weeks I can take nearly £100 and other times not even cover the cost of the stall. I treat it as advertising now and had some cards made up that link back to a FB site that I list all my craft makes on for sale. That seems to work a bit. Obviously most of my stalls are for my main business though.

Finally, Chicky, thank you for sorting out the new thread (as you always do), you're a star! As much as I don't post I love to read the catch up email every day. You all motivate me so much (says her thats not picked up a cross stitch needle in a few weeks).

I'll head over to 13 in 13 soon and pop up pics of my new makes - not been totally lazy!

    Take care every one :)

Hi. Can anyone offer me any tips on using waste canvas. I've bought some small felt bags and thought about putting a cross stitched motif on them but not sure where to begin.

    THanks

  • Hi brendall, I have used it before my 2 top tips would be to tack it firmly in place before you start and when you remove it after cut it down as small as possible and then pull it out as straight as possible using tweezers

Just snuck in an hour of sewing !

shelly - hope your back sorts itself out soon.

Soulie - I mentioned in an earlier post about having tons of anchor threads to put onto bobbins and I was going to wind them by hand. I can remember having a winder years ago and when I got it back out I couldn't remember how to work the damned thing :o. Does it give a neater result than winding by hand??? This was the type of thing I had.

No stitching so far today :(

    Take care everyone

Maria - would you suggest putting anything on the inside to strengthen the back of the stitching?

  • Hi Emma I didn't when I used it, but it couldn't hurt or you could use some iron on interfacing on the back
