Thats given me a thought - could you not use seed beads instead??? or french knots?0 -

A greeney one, will try a few and see how it looks, hopfully I can get away with it!13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -
Flat Eric-I couldn't run if I tried! Far too unfit for that, plus my knees are damaged (one from my bike accident years ago and the other has been painful since early last year-Dr claims its just wear & tear, but not sure I believe him as it *suddenly* got painful) so walking is the best I can do. I'm not sure I'd want to do something which I dreaded all day. Is there another way of exercising that you would enjoy more? Zumba? Boxercise? Swimming?Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Any ideas how I can solve this? Thanks
Could it be one of those rare occasions you could knot it? Put the thread in and other side you will have two loose ends and tie a small knot and trim neat as you can to the knot? Will try and do a picture later, going to work soon.
I think I will apply. I do enjoy my job but my line manager (who works else where) comes up sees me every so often and each time its a put down it feels - the boss I have at my place has noticed and has asked if I want to put a bullying case together against her. I started my application last night - will stay behind tonight at work and do a bit more. I have spoke to the boss I have and he says he will look it over before I send it - he is not going to stop me going for promotion he has told me before. Just a pity its 45 miles away - where I work just now is only 3 miles away.
Thank you all for your kindness - it means alot - we are a good group here - long may it continue.
Kind wishes

Cake Show tickets are still available - it's the show at Excel this week 12th to 14th. 2 free tickets which I won and can't now use so would like to pass them on to anyone who can use them. I don't want anything in return. Please pm me if you or someone you know can use them.0 -
Maria Love the undergound map; hope you will share pictures of your London themed hall when it is finished
pap Great to see you back in the Cafe
Ruth Glad you enjoyed the show - I think they are a great way to spend a day off. The next one I have planned is the Quilt Show at Malvern next month - there will be a convoy from my stitching group going - we all meet up for lunch at the show and then stop at the same motorway services on the way back to do "show and tell" on what we have bought. Lots of fun.
One of the things I most enjoy about these shows are the workshops as you have the chance to sample different techniques and crafts. I did a decopatch workshop a couple of years ago and enjoyed it - I bought a couple of bits but have to confess I haven't used them. My plan is to use them with the grandchildren who are just at the age where they enjoy things like this so next time they visit on a rainy day we will be decopatching their initials.
Hi Thrifty:hello: and welcome back. Have you got any photos of your millennium sampler? I finished one last year which was a UFO from ..... you guessed it ... 1999/2000
winniepooh I think we all lose motivation at times. I find that switching between projects helps so I always have a few in progress at the same time.
tmif Hope your cold is better - there seems to be a particularly nasty version going the rounds
sweetcarer This site sells mounts as well as frames but it isn't cheap when you add on the postage. I bought one of the name frames and mount as a Christmas gift and was very pleased with the service and the product.
I agree that Wilkinsons is good for frames. I've also bought some nice ones from supermarkets.
Re the priomotion - if you are looking for advice then I would say go for it. You have nothing to lose if you don't get it. Will the addtional pay more than cover the extra travel costs/time? And don't be too sentimental about letting people down at work - loyalty is not really appreciated and you need to do the best for you and your family.
brednall Sorry to hear your sales weren't good again. Have you seen the Craftseller magazine? It has some good tips for people making and selling crafts There is an offer of a trial sub of 3 issues for £1 which is great deal
Eric's Mum Threads look wonderful - you must feel very pleased to be so organised. How lucky you are to be able to buy threads from US - the difference in price is enormous
Shelly Your snowman is looking great - so bright and cheerful
Soulie Sorry to hear you had to spend time in hospital - infection is always a risk when your immune system is compromised by your treatment. Good to hear that you are now feeling better.
Maria Would small seed beads that you could attach with white thread be a suitable substitute for the seeds?
Alternatively try using one strand of thread and then stitch the confetti stitches 3 times - a bit of a pain I know but 1 strand is less likely to show when you carry the thread across the back. This may work as the holes in evenweave aren't as big as aida.
Apologies for length of post - had a lot to catch up on0 -
Flowers that is a brilliant idea! Why didn't I think of that! Thank you x13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

Hi ladies.
Thank you all for the lovely comments on my xmas design
Soulie. Glad to read you are feeling better after your hospital stay and hope you continue to stay well.
Sweetcarer. I was going to agree with the others and say go for it but then I read you already areGood on you and best of luck.
FOS. I want to add my thanks to Marias for the idea about the confetti stitchesOn the chart I am doing it shows some individual white stitches in the sky/background but I was going to leave them off, now though I might try your idea of using one strand and stitching twice.
Rather oddly the single stitches (that I assume are snow falling) are only marked on the chart in the area of sky above the snowmans arm and that's it, so if the idea works I'll add some more myself across the rest of the sky.
Didn't get any stitching done over the weekend as planned but I hope to do some later.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

They wanted to do repeat bloods on me, and they didn't do that until quite late. Made me laugh, them saying 'you can go home in the morning.' I went for an xray at 8am, and packed me bag up as soon as I got back, waiting to go lol13 Projects in 2013 Finished: 5 of 13
