I have no idea how I'll finish it off - thats a long time in the future. It's HUGE and a nightmare to stitch on as it's even too big for the lap frame so it's really awkward to hold.
EEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKk. makes me glad our loft is DS1's bedroom - we have no-where to stash anything. everything we are (attempting) to sell is either on his top (unused) bunk of his bunk beds or in my wardrobe. I don't even have DS2's baby clothes and he's only 2 :rotfl:
You've hit the nail there - we live in a bungalow so have a large loft and it was just so easy when DH was able to put things up there "just in case". Then you forget what you've got and it just lies there. We used to have a purge every so often so we don't have many things dating back to when the children were small. We do have a wooden swinging crib which was bought by my MiL and has been loaned to many of the children in the family for when they are first born before they go into a cot - last time I counted it had been used by 12 babies spanning 30 years and I would love to do a small quilt to fit it which has all of their names on there.0 -

sure I recognise those bird houses.
I'm sure you are right - almost all of these one off magazines are rehashes of designs which have already appeared in monthly magazines. I suppose they are quite good value if you don't buy the monthly mags and like the topic0 -
Looking lovely.
I really like the latest designs JE has done for Cross Stitch Collection - a series of 4 historical ladies - Medieval, Victorian, Edwardian so far. All stitched on Polstitches hand dyed evenweave (gorgeous). Although I didn't think the fabric chosen for the Victorian design was the best one and when I went to the Malvern Quilt Show Jo from Polstitches was there (on the Cross Patch stand - she wasn't exhibiting). I said what I thought about the Victorian design and she agreed that there were better fabric choices. We also had a discussion about the Mirabilia Dressmaker's Daughter design which I absolutely love but have so far resisted buying (can you see my moneysaving halo glowing :rotfl:)
I'm not familiar with the design from 2011 but am looking forward to seeing your updates when you start stitching it.0 -
Does anyone have Cross Stitch Collection from September 2011?
I'm looking for the chart for JE's 'Mythical Muse'. There's one on ebay for nearly £12 but I thought I would ask first (would rather pay someone here for the chart instead)
Edit: Got it, very pleased, hoping to stitch it after FG
Good to know you found the chart.
Meant to ask about Fairy Godmother - are you stitching it on sparkly fabric?
I finally managed about a hour of cross stitching last night - the first for almost 2 weeks - not because I have mislaid my bug but because I have had so many other things to do. Any stitching has been practical rather than pleasure (alterations etc). I made a start on the June section of my Stitcher's 12 Days of Christmas as I really don't want to fall behind on my schedule for completing this piece on 11 12 13 (and December is also a manic month of course with limited stitching time).
Hope everyone has a good day with some stitching time even if it is only a few stitches0 -
Hello Girls
Sorry I have been MIA.
Been plodding on with my Sandy Hook heart in red - think I might get it finished at the weekend.
I do check in here each day to see what you are all up to.
Keep well
