I read it theat Nicki was commenting on another poster's post, 'unecessarily harsh' was not aimed at the OP.

I understood! I don't think Jojo's post was harsh at all.

The OP has grabbed his girlfriend by the throat, given her a black eye, and then refused to leave her home. How dare he come on here acting contrite and wanting our sympathy?

I can well believe he's a violent abuser, the way he is ignoring the wishes of a scared and injured person he claims to cares about because moving would be inconvenient for him betrays his real character.

Really? I think giving your girlfriend a black eye is pretty darn 'harsh'. If this is for real he needs to get out, yesterday.

I also think giving a person a black eye is "harsh" (as I'm sure you know). My comment wasn't about that, though. It was in response to Jojo's comment to the OP.

Which wasn't harsh in the slightest...

That was my way of saying I disagreed with you.

As you're the second person who didn't get it, I mustn't have been clear!

Or maybe he can see the life they've built together crashing down and isn't quite able to accept that, thanks to his own actions, it may be over and he's lost her.

My opinion, which of course counts for nothing, get your self off of forums looking for amateur advice, go get some professional advice, and don't post again, until you have got some, and say you are dealing with it, and hopefully that you are both coming to terms with it.

I think it was, you don't. Let's agree to disagree rather than derailing the thread.

We have both worked hard for what we have in our house. I know it's not her fault but I want to show her that I am getting the help to sort this once and for all.
As I mentioned earlier, if I could move I would. It's easy to say move out but without the finances I can't.
I am coming into some money soon so I can move out then.

Words are cheap and disposable. You can tell her you'll change till you're blue in the face, but what does that mean? Jack squat.

You have a HELL of a lot of work to do by showing her that you're capable of change but, if she has any sense in her head, she won't look at you again.
