You put me to shame then ha ha! We booked a lovely stone cottage, log fires etc near Alnwick on the beautiful Northumbrian coastline. Where are you off to? Well done with the credit cards.
Off to supervise kids' homework and make bread. Shepherd's pie in oven. Not the most productive day as spent most of the morning at a friends but was a well overdue visit (essential friend maintenance time
). Will try and get a bit of decluttering done this eve so something extra achieved. No exercise done today hmm, maybe try a few mins this eve, break myself in gently
.
take care everyone0 -
SQ cottage break sounds lovely it has been my dream since I was a teenager to have a little whitewashed cottage with a red front door! I used to stay in on with a friend and her granny when I was really little... Looking back I can't believe my parents allowed me to go! I was only 6! Wouldn't happen these days... We r rethinking our holiday baby hasn't had 2nd set of vacs yet and I'm reluctant to travel until she's fully immunised... Probably being ott about it? We hav booked a break in Donegal in Ireland... Shud be safe!last time we had a ball! I'm very tempted to try and buy a little cottage in Ireland ...No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0

Ireland is lovely, and the people always seem so friendly.
Progress has been made on a few projects today.
We got grass seed down on the bare patches of the lawn today. Now it just needs to rain.
Photo sorting in still proceeding, and I've also been sorting old paper work belonging to my late MIL, who died in 1996.
The photo slide scanner has arrived, so we'll be getting on with the scanning soon. That's going to be another project that'll take a while.
I sold a couple of books on Greenmetropolis, and took them down to the post office, and dropped off a couple of broken old cameras into recycling.
I've had enough for today, so I'm relaxing now.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Been a productive few days! Dd1 has got a place in our preferred school! DH declared he wanted to paint our fence.... All 150 feet of it! I rushed out and got the stain ... Was 5£ a large tin in local builders yard .. The famous brand always on tv.... Over 3 times the price in local DIY store! Hav braising steak in the oven and washing on the line , managed a walk earlier as part of new fitness plan:) small steps! We are having a fènce painting party tomor in exchange for lunch! Hopefully it will stay dry tomor! Also got the wood to make a platform for kids climbing frame... £3.60 at builders yard was quoted £30 from the company that supplied the frame ! DH is building it right now! Really nice to feel like we are getting things done around the house! No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0

flyingmamma How did the fence painting go? I'm away in 10 days with DH, DS1 & his girlfriend to visit friends in Israel. I've got to start sorting my clothes out NOW 'cos I've managed to lose a bit of weight on 5:2 diet so I need to check what fits & take the rest to the CS or fleabay it when I get back! There's so many 'little' jobs I need to do before we go so I'm making a list.....................:)Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Well done silvasava on the weight lose! Will hav to check out that diet! Fence remains unpainted due to the rain.... At least we have the paint now so shud be ready to go! Got the climbing frame finished and DH did a run to the dump so we not too cluttered. Hav packed our cases for hols too ... 11 days to go! Dreading the flights and airport wit kids but its a change of scenery and I think a change is as good as a break! Lol! Played tennis yesterday and took kids to the park to meet a friend and her brood so was a nice sociable day for us. Was thinking of having a wooden floor laid whilst we away ... Will check out local offers this week! Always nice to come back to some new decor etc!No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0

Aargh - been given a dose of tonsilitis so I feel somewhat c**p. Don't feel like tackling anything major but I have managed to clean the fridge out & wash all the shelves & re-arrange, put some empty fleabay boxes up in the loft for future sales (I hope) I'm going to waft round with the duster now & I might just push the hoover round

....Airing cupboard needs a desperate sort through. How much bedding do you think is reasonable to keep? I think I currently have several duvet sets for our room but they never get used...
Why not relegate some of the more regularly used sets to a charity shop, and give yourselves some "new" (harldy used) ones from the airing cupboard? Then you have got a refreshed look for your bedroom and you've got rid of some excess 'stuff'
We only have 2 sets, identical ivory supima cotton from Debenhams - wedding presents

One third of the fence now painted! Looks soooo much better! DH has done a great job.... Waiting on another dry day to finish it! Just finished a pile of ironing and sorted out bed linen cupboard.... I accidentally ditched all bar one set of our double bed linen! Very unlike me so have to try and replace this ASAP not easy to find good quality that doesn't cost a fortune! Nipped into local marks and s today got rolls of Xmas wrap for 10p... Also 5 boxes of cards 10 p a pop! Picked up 2 pairs of kids thermal tights 50p each and a child's white cardi £1! Was a bit embarrassed at the checkout! Did an online shop used a £12 off voucher DH found and washed the car on way home from doc! Busy day with early start hoping tomor a bit less hectic! Hav been inspired by sewing prog on tv ... Going to make some curtains for ds' bedroom. Wud love a sewing machine. No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0
