Not much done here today. I have been out with the little one and mum, then we both had a nap on the sofa for a while.

I did do some housework and a pile of shredding this morning though. I do feel like doing something now, but can't make up my mind what to do. I may go and clear the dining table and desk before I go out.

It's raining here too - boo.

Muffins were yummy thanks flyingmamma (eating one now ;)) All ended up chocolate as running late with dinner. My favourite are raspberry, white choc and coconut. How did the rice and chicken receipe come out? Eldest doesn't like potatoes much so always on the lookout for rice/pasta and similar receipes.

Had a mad day yesterday cleaning and sorting house, still tons to do but can see a big difference. Easier day today, DS8 has a friend over so quick once over this morning and been on here and sorting paperwork while they play nicely (this friend is the best behaved child ever...wish my two and their other friends were the same... he is a real pleasure to have over)

Feel like I am really getting somewhere with the house, need to set up some proper goals when I'm in the right mood.

    Hope everyone's ok

    sq:)

Savingqueen chix rice a bit dry and kids didn't eat much... I misread receipe and after browning the chix I added ingredients and put in oven... Shud hav cooked on stove so not sure if this affected? I'm not usually such a disaster!still waiting on my buggy... Fed up! Been offered a full time job in sept and a small redundancy packet from my current post ... Not sure wht to do and hate making decisions! DH not much help either ... New job is just a year and I've been in current job since uni so it's hard to give up. Was daydreaming about wht to spend redundancy on... Any ideas?

Goldie If you have a digital camera, take a photo of the old photo to email to your cousin. I've been re-photographing lots of old family photos so I can send them to family members. Its been really interesting and some of the stories they remember are fantastic! Made me wish I'd asked my Mum & Dad more about their early lives when they were still alive.
I'm back to making lists of my 'to do' jobs - at least that means I can cross them off when they've been completed which gives me a small frisson of satisfaction - oh I'm so easily pleased ;)

    That's a good idea.

I love old family stories, and now I've worked on my family tree all the pieces of the jigsaw slot into place.

I do know quite a few stories, but I do wish my parents were still around. Since I've traced my family tree, there's even more I would have liked to ask. My cousin Michael is quite good on the stories, being 20 years older than me. He knew some of the more colourful characters like Uncle Solomon, and Old Man Battershall. I get frustrated that they were gone before I was born.

Nothing done in the house today, as I was at work, I'll start again at the weekend

Buggy finally arrived ... At home this afternoon upstairs is looking a tad untidy since I repainted the bathroom going to give it a blitz... Haven't got a clue wht I'm making for dinner tonight ... Think I rid the freezer! Have decided to treat my mum ... And myself... To a trip to New York for her 60th she hasn't been too well lately and does so so much for us. It's her dream to go so I'm going to try my v best to make it happen! Have started my hotel research ... So excited at the thought of it!

Cleaned all of downstairs did a basket of ironing and put away clothes whilst Ds1 and Dd2 had a nap! Got a few friends for coffee and my granny for lunch tomor so wanted everything as clean as possible! Have just weighed myself hav lost another 1/2 stone of baby weight that brings it to 2.5 st in 8 wks.... Aiming for 1/2 stone in 18 days as we off on hol then... Still way over weight! I think I need to lose about 1.5 st to be normal for my height so I hav a bit to go! Sitting in kitchen waiting for floors to dry... These walls need repainted too!

flyingmama - your user name suits you! How the heck do you manage to fit in painting with toddlers around?!! Can I be cheeky (feel free not to answer) but are you a young/youngish mum as you sound so energetic? I am an older mum, aged 45 with a 6 and 8 year old and would like some of your energy please!

I have been doing bits of decluttering last few days, still tons to do but making progress every day. Need to make a trip to charity shop this week to donate several bags.

Made some big life decisions lately so that's great (and another post some time :D).

Next thing to add to my goals is loosing weight/exercising. Have just booked a family holiday away in the summer (they have been few and far between so a big deal for us) and so now have some real incentive to shift some pounds and tone up. Will see if I can shift a stone and tone up a bit over next 3 months (need to loose more weight but not setting myself unachievable targets)
