I have a dream, that all my projects are completely finished, the house is completely clutter free, and the garden looks beautiful, and all I have to do is sit around reading and enjoying the neatness of my life.
I'm not quite there yet.
My decluttering remains ongoing, I've got a cupboard of things which are photoed and ready to put up on eBay, I've got several boxes of photos hanging round waiting to be sorted, I've got boxes of photographic slides waiting to be transferred on to a memory card, and the garden has only received limited attention so far this year.
I keep plugging away at it, and progress is being made, but it is very slow.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Tina 1st class is overrated! I was up graded once and felt out of place my ex OH couldn't understand the tres fancy menu and I ended up sleeping the whole flight! I'd rather sit with the rest of humanity and people watch! Made a one pot pasta dinner which everyone ate... Result! Got a pile of ironing to do this evening and a bag of clothes ready for cs. Who live to be able to sell stuff on eb@y unfortunately every time I try it costs me money! No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0

One of my pet hobbies is repainting odds and ends of furniture and I have a square sander and a tiny triangular one that I invested in several years ago which helps with the heavy stuff then my favourite bit is when I get the very fine sandpaper on the wood and get it smooth ready for undercoating and then two top coats I really find it quite relaxing, but then I have a work table in my conservatory which I can cover with newspaper and sand and paint to my hearts content. To me when I've got a nice warm day (when being the operative word this year
) I have the door to the garden open, my wireless on and a large cuppa, and me happily sitting on my tall stool sanding or painting.I have at the moment in there awaiting said sunny day, a small cupboard that needs a new cork seat and repainting from pink to white, and also some pine shelves that also need doing for my DGS room to put his model figures on, and a long piece of wood my builder took down when he redecorated my hall and stairs a few weeks ago.Its a sort of grotty beige colour but it has four good pegs on it and I will take them off while I sand and repaint it and it will be put back up on the wall to hold coats once its been done as I really miss having coathooks in the hall for coats etc.
I don't even mind the smell of paint, but then I haven't got children running around to smudge anything thats wet or sticky so I can close the door to the consevatory and leave things to dry for several days between coats which does help.I have been quite good and sorting out lots of books and stuff and have a big pile of stuff to go to the charity shop I always try to either find another home for bits or take them to the CS I hate the thought of just binning something.I am awaiting my son-in-law coming to take my steroe system to his house rather than just chuuck it He says he wants it so he's welcome to it.Later this year I will be changing my TV so I will be looking for a home for the one I have I want a smaller one that will go on the wall to free up space in my sitting room.I shall probably put it on freecycle as there's nothing wrong with it, just too big for my small sitting room.I do like to think someone else can use things I have no further need for.0 -

It has started snowing here in Hampshire. The washing I had on the line my Oh kindly brought back in, well he did have his coat on from an outing with the dog.
Tina, I loved your post. I do my dreaming in a bath of hot water and Radox. Lovely and warm. I think of sitting by the pool some whare hot.
I was shocked at your price for Dubai 22k ek! My aduld DD has gone on holiday there on Monday. Staying for a month. Lucky girl, knows someone that lives there so told them to budge up.... she just paid for the plane.
Goldiegirl, love your idea's. Homes are on going all the time.
I wish we could aford for gardeners to just come in and transform all the drive and back garden. Wow, I would be impressed.
