Have been enjoying the decluttering thread for some weeks now but feel I always want to post other tasks and news that are not necessarily declutter related ... so thought I wud start a thread which I and others can list their challenges and achievements on. :j will add to the list as and when I get inspired! So far this year have had a baby ... Now have 3 under 4! Have been decluttering for 8 wks and have started the p333 wardrobe challenge. I am also trying to reuse and so far hav upcycled a dining table and 4 chairs given to me by my mum. Have challenged myself to buy fewer things as the house is bursting and I have realised we have too much stuff!!! I bought this house as my bachelorette pad 8 yrs ago... Now we are a family of 5& cat!
I have loads of new goals this year which include sorting out saving accounts for us all, do more baking and returning to work full time after maternity leave! I hope some others will come and join me on my never ending quest .... OS ers are always so inspiring!

positive steps this year - managed to mend my hoover (found the blockage)
have put myself an alert on gumtree and freecycle as tv screen going green
Have started to sort through and tidy all clothes
Have lined up all knitting WIPs to gradually work my way through to cut down on the bags and baskets of projects all over the place0 -
Unfinished projects - the story of my life!
There always seems to be something more important to do and projects are never a priority. Maybe I will join you and get on with the patchwork I started ooooh - too long ago.
I also have a very expensive embroidery machine that I was going to use to make clerical stoles and things for church sales etc. I have never even opened the instruction manual, it is still in its plastic wrapper! I've had it for about 5 years now and I think it's time to use it or sell it. Thank you. Youhave made me feel more purposeful.

Found some paint in the shed today and have decided to try and repaint one room per month.... The whole house needs to be redecorated unfortunately my DH hates painting so I'm pretty much on my own with this! In the past I have repainted the kitchen in a couple of hours when kids in bed but not sure I'm as able these days! Decided to do bathroom this week as I have enough paint for that....No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0

All of ours needs repainting, apart from the kitchen which was done only a year ago. I'm fine with polyfillering and emulsioning but I hate sanding and painting woodwork (2 things the OH hates as well!). Going to get some of that frog tape I reckon, that'll make the job quicker and neater! I'm busy gathering style/colour ideas at the moment. Looking for a particular shade of 'pale grey with a hint of heather' for the hall, landing and stairs, though not sure what colour to do the woodwork, probably just white to stop it looking gloomy.Over futile odds

And now the final frame

How are you expected to do this with 3 children under 4? DH needs to step up and take one for the team.flyingmamma wrote: »The whole house needs to be redecorated unfortunately my DH hates painting so I'm pretty much on my own with this!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

May I join?
This year the sorting and decluttering started in February and we are still going. Just as as I think the decluttering is coming to an end I find another corner to clear.
My latest project is the conservatory. Realy pleased the items we were storing for someone have been taken this morning after many months. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Oooh - lovely thread - just what I need if you'll have me please?
I've managed to declutter some bits & pieces on eBay - but I have a 'to do' list that seems to expand daily!
I did start a wardrobe clearout as I had some lovely work clothes that I would no longer wear as my lifestyle has changed (Retired) always in jeans now! I have had a couple of things altered to update them & I am slowly getting rid of a lot.
Its the 'other' things that are important that seem to take a back seat to everyday life - MUST get a Will done this year,we keep saying we'll do it but never get round to itSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Lol my OH tried to help paint last time ... Disasterous! I grew up in a house were my folks did all their own painting wallpapering etc my OH didn't his folks always got the experts in! He said he would do anything apart from painting! I enjoy it... Apart from the havoc! Will paint in evening when OH is at work .... Trying to lose baby weight too every activity helps? Plus the house wil look better... Hopefully. Big hello to all joiners looking forward to hearing all about ur challenges good luck and welcome!:rotfl:No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0 -
Afternoon all. Just spent half a day decluttering and cleaning up half of our conservatory. It is quite big.
I made a big pile for Oh and car to take to the recycle centre.
Got a bowl and micro fibre cloth, scrubbing sponge, stardrops and spray CIF. Set to work washing down. swept and mopped the floor. Washed windows. Looks improved and more space.
I just have to now watch it does not become the hot spot/dumping growned again. Oh keeps trying! I will just put ????? in there. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0
