FWIW Decko I too would get it picked up myself. Sorry. But I really really wouldn't want 'those' items visible from my house and not worth the hassle if you know they would be difficult.
And *adopts Pollyanna mode once again* you can be glad she is binning and bagging and not trying to flush it, which could cause major problems drainage wise in the long term.
I have duly picked up the offending items - heavy duty rubber gloves have been soaked in bleach and are drying in the sunshine. I do regularly litter pick out the front as my house is on route to 3 schools and a pedestrian thorough-fare so people just dump their litter on the drive as they go past
Dusty your comment about people not having the same standards as me has resonated with me. I must remember this. I try not to 'sweat the small stuff' but sometimes I lapse and lose perspective

Pretend it is dog poo... bag on GLOVED hand, scoop up pull bag over hand and bin.. Then scrub yourself with a nail brush.. or that is what I did when picking up my neighbours used sanitary towel last week.
GP visit went well; she's taken on board what I said re the pain clinic (which was a total waste of time), has had a look at my hands and given me a referral letter to go to the hand therapy clinic or whatever it's called (cba to go and look at the letter, which is pinned on the notice board in the bedroom) which is a walk-in service, so we can go when Mr LW is available to take me, rather than him have to waste yet another day's leave. The only thing is, we can't get there til 1st May (he only has one Early shift before that, and he's taking me to the optician that day) but not to worry - I've put up with this for such a long ime, a couple more weeks won't make a lot of difference.
Mary's back; she's staying til 19th, then the franchisee will have her (my birthday on 20th and Mr LW wants to take me out somewhere) and keep her til she goes back to her owners on 23rd. After that, the new guy takes over, but I gather there's a booking for Ted the Border Terrier in the pipeline.:T
So I'll be on S&S only pretty much for the next fortnight, with much carting in and out of one small dog.:o
OK, I must get on - need to get a nut loaf made and clean bedlinen put on the bed, whatever else I don't get done.
For all those who are themselves, or have loved ones, under the weather, there's a big pile of healing vibes on the table, please help yourselves.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Well done you Decko...
If littering is an issue in your area why not get your local councillor to come and take a look. Maybe they can arrange litter picking regularly and/or install waste bins.
The problem is once people 'see' litter around they seem to feel it's OK to drop more (this, of course, is assuming they actually *think* about their behaviour at all; I may be being generous here). Whereas when an area is (largely) litter-free less seems to accumulate IYSWIM.
and re- standards - my Grandma lived on a 1930s built council estate (when the houses were still council-owned) and there were grass verges. She used to phone the 'Corporation' (Lancashire speak for council) every time the verges were cut and complain that they'd left the clippings!
Almost every house in the area was immaculate, too!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

A quick hi and have a good weekend. I'm off to a 40th party shortly, then up to visit friends in Norfolk (well it's 'up' from where I am!). Nice sunny day, so:
- washing on line
- some weeding done
- beans sown
- plants sorted to take to friends who've moved into a huge property courtesy of "Escape to the Country" and have loads of garden to fill
- area round bird feeder swept and moss scraped off. Hungry pheasant now crossly searching for scraps (3 pheasants on patio recently")
- lunch in lovely sunny conservatory with Kindle. Bliss. Why wasn't it like this last week?
have fun allRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

More wise words from valli :T She just might be a genius!!
I contacted my local councillor in an previous area I lived in regarding persistent dog poo left in an alleyway used by at least half of the primary school  if likely times/people can be identified they will send someone to 'catch them in the act'.
Do seagulls get into other binbags on your street decko?
I've done 2 loads of washing and got it dry on the line :j Off into town with DD now.*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -

Next time you go can we not sort a flylady meet to give you a couple of hours in reasonable company?
She can't possibly be worse than what I deal with here!! I'll speak to OH about meeting up.. I feel a bit bad dragging him away from his family who he rarely sees.. though it isn't like I see a lot of you.. can the other yokels come too?I could just get dropped off (without girls) heehee
Excellent way of looking at it, Piggers. I'd have a major "ewwww" problem with used sanitary wear, even if properly bagged, I have to confess;_pale_ even though I can poo-pick without giving it a second thought.
I can't do dog poo.. I pretend it is sanitary wear lolRound here it's crows and magpies - I've seen the little blighters wait for the person putting the bin bag out to go in, then swoop down and begin tearing at the plastic.
We have foxes and cats and students.. most messy.
Well... I appear to be getting a selection of veg for dinner.. uncooked beef does absolutely not appeal I'm afraid!
I am absolutely starving.. might demand OH takes me to Tesco or something or anything to eat tomorrowLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Been to visit my sister, stopped in at dfs as DS3 wanted to go in there. My kids are geeks! I'm really enjoying it just being DS3 and me about, I am often with just one of the big ones but not just him, need to plan things for the summer.
Going to fed mogs, get washing in then sort out some dinner. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
