Well, having DD3 home has been a godsend this week otherwise not much would have been done.
Took DS to "Scissor Man" (as DS calls him) for a hair cut after nursery, I like him having slightly longer hair, but this is his second hair cut this year already, and I don't have the skill to cut it myself...so he is getting to the age where he is going to need it cut every 6 to 8 weeks and given he will be getting glasses imminently I need to keep hair off his face, so I may have to invest in some hair clippers from fleabay and give him a buzz cut on a number 3 or 4 all over by myself ( I think I can manage that without him loosing an ear or eyeball) as it will save me a fortune over the years ahead, but I'm scared he won't look like my little boy anymore.... will have to give that one more thought.
With the recession as it is the hairdresser I use is politely asking his long standing customers to pay in cash as the card payment transit takes too long to reach him and their fees are getting exorbitant. I like going to him as he doesn't take any appointments, so its sit and wait (I can do a sneaky drive by and if its empty I can go in, but if someone is in the chair already if the hairdryer is out, then its a green light to park and go for my haircut ......if someone is in the basin getting their hairwashed....forget it they could be in for a wash and set which will mean small talk which will send my nerves into overdrive)
Any thoughts from my fellow flyladies with DS's on this one? With all my DD's when hard cash does not exist and the plastic has had a full blown meltdown, everyone's hair gets longer and longer and scraped back into ponytails. (In my case my roots get longer and greyer aswell!) Don't really want DS to go down that route :eek::eek::eek:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -

Morning all.
Skint - I would buy clippers and look at hairdressing techniques on youtube.
Right, about to put covers back on cushions, have some breakfast, prepare tonight's tea, then walk dogs, hoover through and have my day out.
Hope everyone has a good day.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Good morning all
Skint, I bought some clippers to do my DH's hair (what's left of it!) after he came back from the barbers and said he'd paid £9.50 for a quick trim. Our clippers cost just over £20 and they've saved me £££ over the past year, and he says I do just as good a job as the barber. I don't do fancy whorls and waves, though! The clippers are very easy to use, and I even let DH use them to trim my hair when it gets too long at the back but I don't want to go to the hairdresser's for another week or two. Now that's trust!
I didn't wake up until 6.45 this morning (late for me!) but in the past hour-and-a-bit I have
- decluttered a :coffee:
- made buttercream and icing, then filled and decorated three coffee sponge sandwiches
- emptied all the bins
- found some dishes and plastic cutlery to take to my DS tomorrow for DGS3's christening party in July
- checked my emails
- sorted papers for today
I'm very sorry, but the cakes are not for you, froddington, bonnie and mumto5 - my children would not be happy!!! But I'll see you all later
Breakfast, shower, to the optician's for an eye test and then get on the train to London.... Looks like an excellent plan for the morning
(((Hugs))) and spoons to everyone who needs them. Hope everyone has a good day.0 -

Breakfast decluttered.
Baking tins put away.
Cakes packed up, ready for tomorrow's early start. We are viewing a house in the West Midlands at 09:15 and it's a 2½ hour drive from here
Sorted out with DH which shows at our local theatre he is to buy tickets for - delighted that Eliza Carthy is coming in May, and so is Tony Benn.
See you later...0
