Congratulations NannyG.
Well I have had another spend day but on the plus side, it's all come out of our entertainment. I know we've spent a lot less than normal so that's good.
Spent £4.20 at the play barn on food and £1.50 at the bakers this morning.
I have technically bought a second hand wardrobe from a local hospice warehouse but haven't paid for it yet. It was £30 and we need one for DS. Our budget was £50 so £20 can stay in our savings. We just need to sand it down and varnish it so it shouldn't cost more than about £5 so I think we're being very thrifty:j:j
I can't wait for tomorrow, it's PAYDAY :T:T and all the money left in the joint account will be split into savings and credit card payments.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Thanks hismissus - making me feel hungry just thinking about it!
Congrats to nannyg - must have been very special to see your lovely gd come into the world. I remember I used to REALLY appreciate when my MIL made us food or my mum tidied up around us. I used to get frustrated that I wasn't able to do the bits I wanted around the house - so them doing that really took the pressure off.
I had a NSD today as back at work. Also got OH to drop me off and pick me up so I can eek my return ticket journeys out longer. Started looking at May budget and wondering what to do in the next half term.
My next aim is to get OH on board with the budget - although just asked him if he needed anything in May and he said 'I don't know yet do I!' Planning man - that's what we need.
My figures are currently:
Food 390.79/400 - can I hold out to the end of the month?
Petrol 57.68/60 - only had to fill up once this month so this won't cost any more
Travel 17.95/20
Other 453.75/191.90 - appalling - grrrr - mostly OH here, although I allowed it.
NSD 5 - pretty poor but I have been a LOT more careful so when I have spent it has been considered
Letters to companies - I managed 5 so far, okay I cheated by doing email, but I know this would never happen otherwise.
Decluttering - 4/100 - oh dear, poor effort - still have a few days to at least get into double figures.
Digging in for the last few days, hoping for sunshine this weekend so we can get out to the park.
Have a good evening all.If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money cannot buy.0 -
Evening all.... CONGRATULATIONS to Nanny G on the birth of the little one... how exciting for you all!
I feel like my feet are about to fall off... my legs are achy but at least we spent less money than I thought we would. Turns out EVERYTHING closes at the same time (funny that) and by the time we got back into London Town from Hampton Court Palace there was enough time to do anything else.....so we went to the massive Waterstones in Piccadilly and mooched...
- £20.60 = HCP Entry x 2 plus guide book to keep brother happy
- £15 = Two subway sandwiches in HCP ( his purchase, I kept quiet)..along with our other food brought with us...:rotfl:
- £2 = Two ice lollies.
- £19 = His train fare..
- £10 = Tea for two plus cake and macaroons..
I realised I have transferred money to cover a month of bike insurance without planning for it so ultimately it's actually supposed to be for London fun but I think I might be able to scrape through without using it all...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:...we only have 1 "paid" fun outing tomorrow..... THE LONDON TRANsPORT MUSEUM!!!! - yes to me that is FUN! :rotfl:...oh and the brother has paid to hit the London coffee festival tomorrow evening... fine I'll tag along.. but ain't drinking any of that rubbish...:rotfl:
Right then.... bed..

Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. i think I've got a couple of SFDs to add but also a nonSFD which has taken me over food budget, again. Misc budget might cover it, i still have a few £s left so will not be using any overdraft/CCs. Will update figures later. Payday Monday.
Nannygladys, congratulations on your new baby granddaughter, and Kat, have a great time with your brother today.
Hope everyone is doing well.MFIT -T5 #420 -
Congrats nanny, so nice for you to be there to support and lovely you are cooking...enjoy the teenie one - the thought of tiny feet makes me broody but alas you need a man for more babies! Ha!
Asistpumanti: I think NSK is already planning may - this is my second month and it really helps....not yet as well behaved as I want to be but at least I am on the way and these guys are lovely!
Couple of spend days here but other than credit I have nearly no real money here left til paid day so may just gat a few no spends in a row! Had a massage and pamper treat yesterday for half price and its really helped my cold...still off work since yesterday but my head is foggy and my job really needs me to be able to think clearlyso would be bad idea to go in half capable.
Anyway will potter about and sleep today and probably lurk around the boards as no children to entertain I can do ask please!
Happy Friday all!Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -
I think I am going to burst!!!!!! Checked my bank account this morning to find work has paid me £800. Surely a mistake as payday was last week..but Hubby had a similar payment so when we got to work he checked with the Accounts Guy and IT'S A SURPRISE BONUS!!!!! He didn't thnk anyone would notice until he brought the letters round later.
It's enough to pay off the £716 left on my CC!!!!!!!!!!! I can become debt free today (apart from the trailing interest that'll be on my next CC statement) I could cry I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

Okay.. Sat in a coffee shop that doesn't sell tea. Go figure!! But wanted to check in while brother witters on about the different coffee bean farms to say a massive, well deserved, happy, early, and quite wondrous CONGRATULATIONS to His_Missus on becoming "almost" debt free..(trailing interest noted).. You now need to display this on the main DFW board and get your name emblazoned on the Debt Free thread!!! Well done!! x“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Me again!
Just been onto my account and paid off the remaining £713 on my CC.
I am now officially Debt Free:j (apart from a bit of trailing interest to pay next month but that'll just be a few pounds)
Kat - I will add my name to the DF role of Honour over the weekend.
Hubby's using his bonus to pay off the rest of our big holiday so as of next month we can start SAVING!
Oh, and further to an earlier discussion on here, I'm not leaving the DF forum as I still want to join in the challenges and I think being here is the best place to be to remain DF. Besides I like the people on this forum even though I don't know any of you personally in the "real :Dworld"0 -
