When I was expecting dd2 I got into cleaning carpets - beige with all sorts of odd stains so scrubbed the patches with a strong solution first then the machine = perfect.
Have you asked what she would charge if you don't as she is replacing them anyway and they are old carpets?

Just been reminded tax codes should be changing so whoop! Whoop! I have also booked in for two extra shifts so these two things mean I should be able to pay for dd1s next trip without too much worry. Just need to be good and make a more solid relationship with eBay.
My tax credits are paid 4 weekly which will mean an extra payment in July - can't decide whether to it aside for emergencies and some summer spends or to just pay off on my debt.
I know debt is my priority but to have an emergency fund is too and the summer is so long....will ponder this until budgets and dfd finalized.

  • Ok ok - will let you know what DH and I decide!!! :D

Re the carpet - rug doctor v vax/steam cleaner home thing = no contest - they usually rent out for a day and it leaves it touch dry. It'll depend what she is planning to keep re the deposit vs hassle factor etc - depends what sort of carpet it is too - ours are synthetic and have been fine but Im not sure Id try it on a wool one!

Right to work again - happy days!!

What do the cats need lasagne for his missus? :rotfl:

;)They have a love of Italian food:rotfl: OK, so the lasagne sheets are for us. Mind you, I bet the cats WOULD eat Lasagne given the chance. Also got some currant teacakes for breakfasts and a garlic bread (extravagance) and there's still £2.30 left on the card :)

Just thought is it worth measuring up and going on carpet right to work out how much replacement then discuss a percentage?

Right I am going to look into this Rug Doctor I think...

Asked to make 36 cupcakes for someone for £20 - not a bad start. Although for June. Although £16 trade-in books for Amazon accepted...two aunts sent £30 each for my birthday so they have been stashed ready for a possible purhase of a Vitamix one day..

Right I am going home to buy chicken / nuts and eggs for the brother. Am quite excited to have him over even if we have to share my bed cause there ain't no room in the house....

or I might sleep on the floor with puddy cat....

    Onwards and Upwards!!

  • Oh man - now we will be in trouble with the May challenge :D

You are only 30 once m'dear - if a vitamix is your hearts desire I will question no further. Out of interest is it the same as a magimix??
