    Afternoon Guys!

    Thanks for all the nice comments:D

    Today has gone so quickly. Have been to the hospital for 2 appointments, then went food shopping for essentials, came home then have been reading through course material for my essay due in tomorrow:rolleyes: ...luckily I have a few days extension! OH sent his essay off this morning, so he is very pleased with himself:A

    Hoping for better weather tomorrow as I have a washload needing to be done and prefer it hung on the line than the airer. Toilet has been cleaned and house generally clean and tidy:D Ironing needs doing but that can wait.

    House smells lovely as I have done a Lamb Cassarole, have made the dumplings-just need to place in SC and will have mash with it:o ...they take about half an hour so will put in about 4.30. Bought a fresh loaf so may have this with butter to clear the gravy on the plate:p

    Tomorrow is another visit to the hospital, then I want to concentrate on finishing the essay then maybe chill and watch a film:confused: Have many calls to make and OH has a few odd jobs that need to be done around the house and car.

    Anyway, Id best go as I need a cuppa and want to post a question regarding DD on the family board as she is struggling with her vision at school and need some advice:confused:

    Hugs to all.

    PP

    DANNA and QUEENIE - I’m going to have a look at this MS you have both mentioned! ...
    You can download a 90 free trial at:- http://www.microsoft.com/money/default.mspx
    Always worth having play with the trial version first to see if it suits you.
    I'm still working with the 2004 version but looking at the latest version (2007), I could well be tempted to upgrade :think: I'll try the trial I think and see how it compares :D

    I've looked on Amazon uk and eventhough they have Money (£17.98), it doesn't say which version it is, although it looks like it might be the 2005 version :confused: But as I say, I'm still using the '04 version and I can download my statements into it for reconciling, no problem.

    QUEENIE - thank you so much for doing that! I only mentioned it a couple of hours ago - that's great service. I've just had my nap and woken up freezing cold - don't know why, I always do - so I'm going to make a cuppa to warm me up then I'll download it and have a wander round! Thanks again!

    Afternoon all! :hello:

    Was away for the weekend with OH and kids, staying at in laws houe while they're on holiday. Their garden is 3 acres of woodland and clearings so i have [strike]nicked[/strike] foraged some elderflowers, wild garlic and tadpoles. :D Any tadpole recipes anyone?? :rotfl:

    We went to a food fair on Saturday and bought lots of yummy cheeses and smoked fish. Got 2 bulbs of smoked garlic so I'm busy devising recipes for that. ;)

    Today has been a busy housework day but I've managed to get all the major housework jobs done and the washing is up to date. OH helped with the recycling and I've pottered a bit in the garden. The birds seem to be starving atm so I invested in a couple more feeders and they're now being subjected to a frenzied attack. :D

    Attended to the veg patch as well as the peas, corn, radish, beetroot, scallions, rocket, cos, spinach and beans are all through. Just waiting for the courguette and cucumber.

    Supper tonight is smoked sauage pasta for the girls and prawn and asparagus risotto for OH and myself. Then I plan to spend the eveing ironing. :rolleyes:

    Did I ever mention I hate ironing?:confused::p

    Lots of good wishes to Aussie, Stefejb and Jet77.

    Good luck oddsnsods.

    Welcome yellowmonkey.

    Just read yesterday's thread so hugs to Catowen too.

    Re the dentist Kyle. One of our dentists has just closed and it's causing massive problems. I got a bit cross today as I had to take Dtwin1 out of school for a dental appt cos the school dental nurse sent a letter home last friday to say she needed an appt asap due to an infection. I took her this afternoon to discover she was referring to an infection she had 4 years ago!!! Her tooth has been black since she fell down the stairs when she was 2 and they perhaps thought I hadn't noticed.! :rolleyes: :mad:

    Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

    Hinmko.gif everyone.

    My second attempt at this. :mad: :mad:

    It's been a hectic few days at the Smoky household and I am a little frazzled and tired. Everyone is well and I have 2 days off to come. :T :T

    OH is off to the hosi tomorrow for his angiogram and I haven't been sleeping too well - I expect it's just worry. I had a nightmare last night that he died of a heart attack and that has been praying on my mind today but I am sure it's just me being a worry bunny.

    I have aquired some sheer white and blue voiles from Ebay for under a fiver and those will go up on the bathroom this week on a recycled curtain pole from the old house. The greenhouse is in exchange for a couple of trays of bedding plants and that should be up in a couple of weeks when the base is done. OH plans to grow chillies, peppers, cucumber and tomatoes (great for the diet).

    AMIE - I have lost another pound this week so am feeling pleased with myself, despite it being that time of the month.

    The usual top to toe with the hooover, swish and swipe to be done after this as I have been working this morning and it's chicken with baked potato, salad and hm coleslaw for tea. Another pile of ironing needs to be done and school things to get ready for tomorrow. The 2 eldest are off on a trip to a bird sanctuary and the LO will be having his first session with the childminder so our costs for childcare have dropped from £192.50 per week to £46.80. I know the tax credits came up with 80% of it but we are still that 20% better off every week. They are all local to us now with school and childcare so if OH is ill again it will not be such a nightmare to get them there and it won't cost the bus fares everyday to do it.

    hugs1.gif to everyone in need today, and I hope everyone else is having a good day.

    I best get moving, time is slipping away fast.:rolleyes:

    Afternoon all,

    Hugs to Jet, Aussie, PenPin;

    Catowen, take it easy until you feel 100% again, Scuzz...don't suffer that headache for much longer before looking after it;

    OddnSods, good luck with your test on Friday;

    Welcome to Yellow Monkey and Elsiesgirl;

    Dogrose, congratulations!

    Old MacDonald, I have an idea that milk can be good for taking that rusty stain from wool....just soak stained area overnight and wash next day.

    Aussie cousins gone this morning, they will be in Europe for another month but won't see them again until either they come again or I manage to make another trip to Oz, need to really save my pennies to think of that, but would love to make another visit...so much to see.

    Haven't really shopped at all this week, will have to do something to-morrow, although if I check I may not need to go to a shop before weekend...

    Still no great amount of rain here, it has been threatening all day and I have taken in clothes from line, but if huge black cloud takes a turn away from us I will have to water later on, things are starting to shrivel.

    Frozen beef dinner is heating while rice is cooking, we will have it with salad, just fruit for dessert to-night I think.

    Hope that the rest of the day will be good for all

    Hi everyone :hello:

    (((hugs))) to all those that need one, including Aussie Lass.

    It's been hectic at work today. Although my class are only Years 3 & 4, they're still having the "optional" SATS test. They're optional as far as the school have taken the option that all children in Key Stage 2 will take them. To be honest, it does most of them quite a bit of good at how well they CAN do things. Sadly, I have to mark the things! I've done most of the maths test marking from today. So, I've got the rest of that AND the Reading Comprehension to mark. No rest for the wicked! :rolleyes:

    I've also booked two tickets for DH and I, for a seminar about moving to New Zealand. It's something that we're contemplating, but we need a bit more information before we jump into it. I know that we've got the backing of my parents (because they would have free accommodation!) and DH's dad is keen because he'd be able to have free accommodation for British rugby tours :rolleyes:. MIL isn't overly keen, but hey-ho, she's protective over her "little" boy.

    I felt quite guilty when I got home. There was a lady knocking door to door asking whether I'd be interested in buying fresh fish from Grimsby. Having lived near Grimsby for most of my life, I have nothing against the fish from there BUT they were wanting to deliver it during the day when I'm mostly at work! I wanted to say yes, but...................... Oh well, I'll see how it goes and accost the delivery bloke should I see him/her. :o

    Supper tonight is ostrich burgers with new potatoes and baked beans. How flash is that? :D Or not............. but dead easy. :whistle:

    :wave: for now.

    I've just got home from collecting DS and DD from their after school club and I had to pass this on :)

    One of DS's friends told him that he was going on a diet and that his mum was cooking him stuff "Old-Style". DS thought that was cool, and asked him what he thought "Old-Style" meant. The reply was "it means it's been cooked by someone old!"

    Fortunately my OS-wannabe staus means theat DS was able to correct him. As a reward he has HM pizza for tea :) (must go and put that on!)
