Kyle, that's so annoying for you! Isn't there a dentist nearer to you? -hug- xBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Hello everybody and hugs to all who need them!:hello:
Well, where do I start? Constant rain means that this morning after popping everything in the composter I could be found tipping the excess water out of my poor little seeding trays. Have hidden them under a load of hedging in the hope they will not get quite so saturated and have re-filled the bird feeder and suet ball (they little blighters are eating at the rate of one of each per day! ). Mr Rage will be telling me later how much it's going to cost to get the windscreen wipers fixed which did an almighty "pop" yesterday and then refused to work  . More money to be spent - I shall go and live in a cave at this rate:wall: . Speaking of rates, the mortgage rate increase has wiped out the payrise I had so thanks for that one Mr Head of Bank of England. Actually, you'll all have a laugh at this. In the local elections I voted Green. Mr Rage then asked me what I'd voted and when I said started to moan about how it was a wasted vote etc. I put my hand up in a Jerry Springer type way (:rotfl:) and said that I had voted as my conscience dictated and what had he voted? Green!!! Winding me up and all the time he had followed my OS lead!!! Finally got my green bin as well off the council - after faxing extremely snotty letter to them and telling them I expected it in 7 days or else - got it in 5  . Been filled already about 6 times and taken to the local recycling dump (not sure I should have been helping to lift that.... ). Had to see Occi Health as well at work who said I'd done very well to be back so soon considering - if I'd have known that I'd have asked my GP for another couple of weeks off!!!No lifting
Breakfast - bannanas (used the skins to shine my plants in my office :A ), lunch - sarnies (mushroom pate and salad) + yoghurt, dinner - veggie pie, asparagus, carrots and jacket pot. Will have to bake again tonight a well as all the cherry cake has gone
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
With reference to the discussion about touch typing. I can do it too. It was an option I could take instead of games when I got to 6th Year. I would do ANYTHING to get out of games. Then, because I could type I got a summer job in the IT department of the council while I was at university. From that I started as an operator, which I was going to do for a year to get some cash before I did my PGCE. Then I got a job as a programmer, then I moved to business analyst and now I'm a project manager. 15 years since I left uni and my 1 year job is still going strong (with different companies). So be careful what you teach your kids!!
I would still love to be a primary teacher. But I don't think I would get in, specially since my degree's was in latin. I think I'd be good - all that work experience in the IT industry - but I can't convice the college."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Have read the thread in dribs & drabs today, so can't remember who's said/done what, sorry. Have a :grouphug: anyway
Good news, the firm delivering my new bed have rung this morning & it will be here next Wednesday! hooray :j It could have been sooner, but with one thing & another that will be my next day working from home to wait in for it.
Off down to *a supermarket* in a mo (haven't decided which one yet) for some more salt. Instead of buying new curtains for the bedroom, I'm dying the old ones, which are white cotton, so take the dye well (chocolate brown). I've done one, but run out of salt for the second one. £10 for 2 packs of machine dye is much cheaper than a whole new set of curtains. :money:
Right must crack on, have to go to the gym later as it's a busy week & I won't get much chance later on in the week.
Have a lovely day, and if I'm not around much, a lovely week TTFN0 -
Peem, have they given you a specific reason why you can't become a primary school teacher? What about a secondary schol teacher in IT?
Lucie, hope you have a good day!

Hi, just go back from running errands and, would you believe it, I had to go to the bank, the post office and the building society in one village, the supermarket in another and the wholesalers in between - and NO QUEUES! Not anywhere! Methinks maybe my luck has changed with getting DH’s bank charges refunded on Saturday! Mind you, on the strength of that, I bought a lotto ticket and guess what? No – not a sausage! Not even one number!
YELLOWMONKEY – no need to thank us – it’s what we’re here for. So glad she’s keeping the toast down!
DANNA and QUEENIE - I’m going to have a look at this MS you have both mentioned!
KYLE – I think that’s appalling! Whatever happened to Tony Blair’s pledge, so many years ago, that ‘everyone would have access to an NHS dentist within two years’? You should phone your local Primary Care Trust (the local health authority) because the new NHS Dental contract says that dentists should always be taking on patients, so it’s their responsibility to find you one. NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 may be able to help, as well.
ELSIESGIRL – Welcome – you’ve found a great bunch of people here!
Well, I still have some paperwork to do but have just had my lunch and will be having an afternoon nap because I was up at about 3.30 this morning and, although I’ve been buzzing all morning (that’s the caffeine!), I can feel it catching up on me now!
Will drop in again later.

Hi everyone!
Hugs to those who need them. Hope you all had a good weekend.
Our show in Kensington was very successful and we now have a full order book so I am very grateful. Also meant that I had a £20 budget to blow on bits for my own dollshouse which I did in style. Pre redundancy I'd have spent £200 without so much as a backwards glance...it was the one area that I used to treat myself occasionally. Was always fugal otherwise!
It's my Dad's birthday today so we're going up there for supper...he's put in a request for bangers and mash with my Mum and a chocolate cake with me. I made the sponge yesterday and then the small person choose the colours for the icing and helped me to decorate it...result one HM cake with green icing in the middle and blue icing on top:rotfl: :rotfl: Have also put all his walking related pressies in a rucksack with a luggage label that I've stuck a "walker's rest" sticker on. Hopefully he'll like it!
Nowt much else. have restarted the Tightwad Gazette as felt I needed a bit of inspiration in theOS dept...have become a bit stale of late and the ideas in there always leave me either enthused or frankly perplexed!!
Have a great day folks
