Hi –
SCUZZ – can’t believe anyone could get close to a payout on Archerfish – it’s so tedious, isn’t it? Unless I am doing it wrong!

It's taken a while admittedly, but I just do the clicks every day and it mounts up slowly bug surely, especially with the contest clicks.Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Morning all,
Have been keeping up with all the posts but haven't got round to posting. Hugs to all who need them - especially Jet77, Pen Pin and yellow monkey and family - congrats to dogrose and hope the day goes well for catowen.
Had a sort of good weekend. The neighbours had given us a desk for ds2 so we went to put it in his room yesterday. Well..... the state of said room was not to be described and we found he had been colouring on his furniture GRRRRRRR! I don't think he'll be doing it in a hurry again and at least his room is clean, tidy and sorted again.
Dh and I got to play golf in the afternoon - no rain despite the forecast - and then we had a BBQ woith the friends who had taken the kids for the afternoon - lots of HM salads and cakes for afters. It all went down very well but not a lot left for the rest of the week. You want people to eat obviously - but I was hoping for a bit to help with the packed lunches.:D
Lots of washing on the line - although the forecast is for rain later. Going to make some savourry scones with some leftover tomato puree and carrot. There was half a bottle of beer left from the BBQ so I put it into the BM last night and it's given a lovely flavour to a wholemeal loaf:T Also will make some flapjack.
And on Friday I had success with getting fresh yeast from Tesco - I asked if I could buy some and she gave me 4 1/2 oz for free. It's now in portions in the freezer. I feel really awkward about asking for things some times so RESULT!
Off to cook a chicken for tonight to have with leftover potato salad - have a great day everyone.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Huge(((HUGS))) to jet and aussielass - and anyone lse who needs one today. Good luck to all Year 6 chn doing those SATs this week too. So easy to get these things out of proportion, especially as schools are judged on these rather than all the other things they do to turn out well-rounded and resourceful people who will have life skills.
Rain, rain and more rain. DH gone to a funeral this am - weather like this just makes it even worse I think.
Anyone fancy curling up in front of log fire with hot chocolate? No, I can't either - must get back to work!Resolution:

Ah, erm ... she's not quite up to *that*, she's wheelchair bound now ... ... I wonder if she'd enjoy doing some wheelie's on her birthday at the weekend

Morning all!
<<Jet77>>
OldMcD and Queenie I have used MS money for over 10 years, and I couldn't manage without it. We were rubbish at putting our receipts in when we spent on the CC, but now that we use online banking for everything it's easy to keep track.
<<AussieLass>>Good to hear from you yesterday, sorry to hear your news
<<Crazychick>> Good luck with the home visit. I think it's brilliant that you're taking on a "rescue" cat. I have to avoid those places, as I know I would end up bringing someone home, and my two cats would not be amused. Our vet had a "home needed" poster up for this poor little ginger cat who had been hit by a car and had lost an eye as a result. He was now well, and needed a home. I was soooo tempted, but it wouldn't be fair on our two, or on him - he looked like he needed lots of one on one tlc.
reverie It'll be great fun. I tried jetskiing, and couldn't even get up on the damn jetski til the end of the lesson. My arms were killing me, but it was such a laugh.
<<yellowmonkey>> Ew, rotten job. And there's nothing you can do to help. Best thing is starve for a while, with just little sips of water, not proper drinks of water.
Congratulations dogrose
<stefejb>You're doing so well with this.
<beemuzed> I find I prefer it to be raining - or at least grey and mniserable - when I have a funeral to go to. Somehow, standing there in bright sunshine just doesn't seem right.
Well Monday is my big housework day...but I just can't get going this morning. DH is on a phone conference at the moment, has been for over an hour, so it was an ideal time to slip off to the gym. But I'm expecting a redelivery from DHL, and sods law says if I go out, it will arrive...and that DH having to dip out of a conference to answer the door is hardly the height of professionalism! I would have gone to pick the parcel up, but the nearest DHL depot is 20 miles away and it's not very money saving to trog all the way over there and back.
DH out for dinner tonight, so I'm going to have penne with home made pesto. I think this is the last batch of pesto that I have in my freezer, so hopefully this year's basil will get growing soon.
RIGHT. Kick up the b*m. I'm going to make a proper coffee for both of us, then I'm going to Flylady the kitchen. Starting with emptying and cleaning the fridge.
I;ll be back to catch up soon xxxx

QUEENIE – thanks for the confirmation that my first OS thread starter was right! I also find I am using the computer for practically everything! Once you find out just what it is capable of it encourages you to make the best use of it. I think it was you who said yesterday that you touch-type? I have my RSA I,II and III in typing and shorthand – I have always been glad I learned to type but I wonder why they don’t include it in the National Curriculum these days? The whole world seems to be computer-driven – you’d think it was essential to teach children how to type as soon as they introduced the computer into the classroom.
..
You echo a point I've made many times about teaching typing at school! Years ago, the girls who went to High School were taught touch typing but our school wasn't (Grammar). I was lucky that I was given a 2nd hand typewriter for a birthday gift one year and my half sister and my older brother taught me touch typing.
My eldest 3 children weren't taught how to touch type either and computers were coming in to the schools as standard by then. So I bought "Mavis Beacon" computer program that taught touch typing. That was some years and a computer or two ago now. My youngest two need lessons methinks ... that'll be for the summer holidays now though, they've too much else on their plate academically to worry at this point. But yes, it should be taught (imo) if not for speed, certainly for accuracy!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good morning everyone
Queenie, you make a great point about typing. I can touch type at quite a speed, and always have been able to (think it comes with playing the piano as well!) but I did IT at GCSE and it was amazing to see so many of my peers typin with one finger at such a slow pace. I think that there should be taught in schools at some point - its such a great skill to have!
Going to try and make a curry later - I'll let you know how that goes! Not being the best cook in the world, I might go wrong somewhere, but I'l gonna try
Hope everyone else has a good day.
