@BXBOARDS....except both transactions were done the same way...In the past few months, I have 5 eBay transactions ALL worked successfully....no change...

are you definitively saying that if you look at eBay, then a few days later make a purchase that's the incorrect procedure while using the iPad eBay app and TCB....better still, can you point me to the instructions from TCB that explain this?

apart from that, it's also possible to "watch" an item on ebay for up to 10 days or more and in that time watch it on your phone, ipad, pc or whatever, so are you saying that even though you empty cache and cookies of browsers there is still a problem?...having cleared cache and cookies etc and the "final" action is carried out through TCB on a "clean" platform (as per TCB's advice) how would there be a problem?

I look forward to Matt's explanation on this scenario....

    cheers

The thing I find funny about the tracking is TCB always say clear cookies / cache etc. OS Win 7 with IE11

I never clear mine as it causes havoc with online banking.

I've only ever had one transaction not track & that apparently was because I wasn't fully logged in.

    Go figure!

    Hey everyone,

I hope everyone's not getting too hot with all of this heat!

@mamabuddah - when clicking the link on our app it doesn't open the ebay app and therefore it's no major surprise to me that this could be the cause of your ebay transactions not tracking. No staff member at TopCashback or indeed the whole cashback network can give you every tracking scenario as it would be impossible with the vast number of devices, configurations of devices etc. What I can say however, is that the best way to ensure tracking is to follow the terms of the merchant and if you are not following the link to the mobile site the tracking link is broken and it's likely a transaction wont track. That's not to say it wont track, just that it's unlikely and you put at risk the transaction tracking by not following this process.

@steve1500 - Some members can use TopCashback and never clear cookies with no issues. It depends on the cookies that are on your device, what sites you have visited, how long ago you visited them etc. All clearing cookies does is make it clearer that the transaction came from us and therefore reduces the chance of something not tracking successfully.

I do hope this helps you both :)

    Best wishes,
    Matt

When you click through a TCB link, the Ebay url contains a ID relating to your unique click (clk_rvr_id)

It is this that will do your tracking.

For Ebay, you can bid on an item via your TCB clickthrough, forget about it for 10 days, and even reboot and clear cookies, and your auction bid that you may have made even 10 days ago or however long the auction was for will still track, as long as you made the initial bid or purchase via a TCB link with a clk_rvr_id in the URL to relate the purchase back to TCB.

Messing around with watch lists and apps is over-complicating things that are fairly simple - clcik through via TCB then buy or search.

If you muck about with watch lists and apps, you have a very good chance of breaking the click link to your purchase.

Sadly no update on the SSE higher rate, but this evening I decided to try TCB again after a bit of a break and took the SSE broadband offer.
    Super fast tracking, very exciting.
But! Only tracked at £42 instead of the £73.50 offered! Annoying that TCB tracking at lower rates is still going on! Should I have really expected better?
Claim in and I have multiple screenshots of the whole process and with it being contract based, I fully expect payment at the correct rate.
    To be updated..............................hopefully soon.

    apologies....if I didn't make myself clear....

yes I use the iPad app for eBay

when I want to buy, I go to TCB on my iPad (obviously through safari, as TCB don't , as far as I know have an iPad app I had looked at the android version and found it to be rubbish) I click through TCB, and eBay opens up on another tab in safari...that's why both transactions on TCB on that day appear in the drop down box to submit a claim (the one where it asks you for times etc) so TCB have recorded the visit through them...with no other referrals etc...

every time I use safari....I go to settings and clear all data on my iPad, it's only 16Gb...so I like to free up as much space as possible...so as you see I'm basically doing all that's asked...

I've submitted a claim, so lets see what TCB (Matt) has to say...at the end of the day there's quite a bit of supposition and hypothesizing about what may or may not happen with tracking...click throughs, referrals etc.... realistically, this is what I normally do and in the last 5 or 6 weeks , 5 transactions have all tracked correctly....except for this occasion with 2 transactions 11 hrs apart....both done in the same fashion...but only one has tracked...but c/s at TCB have ALL the information as requested on their claim form...so I look forward to hearing what they say....

By the way....its 8 months now since you said you're waiting on ARGOS to pay the difference between what they actually paid and YOUR advertised cashback rate.....still working on that one Matt?

And now there seems to be a big problem with payouts. selected for M&S gift card/voucher a month a go. waited for confirmation, never happened and the amounts appear to have been put back into payable earnings. Clicked again for M&S voucher, still waiting one week later for confirmation.
TCB "service" truly abysmal these days....

    Hey everyone,

@bxboards - You're certainly right about trying to keep everything simple. We would also advise members to clear cookies and click through to pay for an item if it's a bidding item just to help the tracking. It's not always needed but it can help.

@B_M - If you haven't already can you lodge a claim for this. As I am sure you know a transaction can progress incorrectly on any cashback site you decide to use and this can be for varying reasons.

@mamabuddah - click records are created just by us so we have evidence of you clicking through to a merchant. This click record has no impact on tracking and is wholly there for us to have if a claim is required.

As you mention you have now lodged a claim and so we will now find out if we were eligible for it. If we are you will be paid.

In regards to Argos, we don't have any further news at this time which is why we haven't been able to pay you the full amount of cashback yet.

@JPears - The issues you are finding with the M&S Giftcard are something TopCashback and the gift card provider could not have foreseen in any way. This is due to actually receiving the gift cards from the provider and is not down to any fault on TopCashback's side. We are working on this actively and also considering all options available to us at this time. I understand it's frustrating and rest assured we share that frustration and hope we have some positive news to share with members very soon.

    Best wishes,
    Matt

I'd imagine there is a small chance that there could be an issue with a transaction tracking wrongly on other cashback sites, but TCB are the Daddys here.
Yes, claim in within an hour of completing purchase. Experience shows here, especially past experience of this type of issue (tracking short).
I've had issues with Hotelopia and Hoppa recently, both 'H's', so I thought I'd try an 'S' this time. Same result!
Lets see if this is paid correctly within four months!

SSE broadband has now been removed from TCB today I see. Is there a reason for that?

    Good afternoon B_M,

I do hope the team can get everything resolved for you soon :)

SSE currently no longer offer cashback on broadband on cashback sites . They do change rates from time to time and this is all down to their discretion.

    Best wishes,
    Matt
