Child-minder suspended

I am asking for my friend, the facts are... her child minder smacked her 13 year old son who told a teacher who rang social services who rang Ofsted and have now suspended child minder pending an investigation.... Does anyone know how long this takes and the possible outcome?

Have no idea depends on so many factors. What sort of slap ?
Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.
  • why was it necessary to send a 13 year old to a childminder?

I imagine it was the child minders own son.

I read it as the CM smacked her own 13yo son? Not a minded child.

Unless he had a mark which was obvious to the teacher it would not have been reported as it isn't against the law to smack a child.. so the mark was obvious, possibly the next day.. would you wish that on a minded child potentially???

I'd look for another CM before all the other parents get the good one.

It was the child minders own son who was slapped, my friends son has been going there for over 3 years with no problems.....I don't know anything else other than he was slapped...

Childminders shouldn't use corporal punishments on children when looking after other children anyway. No child carers should use smacking and when registering to be a nanny or childminder you have to tick a box/fill in a form to say you won't.

Theres disciplining your own child, and then disciplining others

Just because someone chooses a method for their own children, doesnt mean they will do it to all kids they come across.

Why is everything so dramatised these days?
