Games of Thrones is brilliant. I cant wait for the new series to come back.
quite a lot of nudity / bonking for a 13 year old to watch with his mum though, no?
If that werent a problem Id suggest Rome, that show was great but turned pornographic about ever 12 minutes or so!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010Taking my frugal life on the road!0 -
I don't think that Game of Thrones is suitable for a young teen! I blush watching it with my Mum and I'm 27, never mind a 13 year old!
The suggestion of Firefly is a great one! A fantastic (albeit very sadly far too short) series.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I love Sherlock and it's suitable for teenagers too.
can I come round yours and watch it?!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

I love that show, but I'm not sure I would have loved it had I seen it as a young teenager!
The newer version of Battlestar Galactica would probably be good for him, but your enjoyment would depend on your tolerance towards Sci-Fi. I think 24 is a good suggestion in being something that a young lad and an adult would both enjoy.
EDIT: If you really want to see his face to go bright red you could have a Game of Thrones/Spartacus/Rome night. The nudity levels in those sitting with his mum would have him freaked. Bet he'd love Spartacus though.0 -

He has got the Game of Thrones book at his request. I really don't want to watch bonking with him though, poor guy!
I've popped a few suggestions into my amazon basket (I'm a bit of a zoverstocks fan so it is semi-mse). Thanks once again0 -
I've never seen Firefly but have seen Serenity and I did find some bits scary - although I do have a phobia about zombies which is what I likened the creatures to!
Nathan Fillion who starred in Serenity is now in Castle which all the family enjoy watching. A good cop drama with some humour and not overloaded with violent or sexual content.0 -
He has watched Sherlock and loved it. I forgot, sorry!0

Fringe is excellent. Band of Brothers is aboslutely phenomenal (and only about £10 for the box set) but possibly a wee bit gory for a 13 year old. I was obsessed by Terminator 2 at that age, maybe the Sarah Connor Chronicles?
Is Twin Peaks too old? It's very good.
They have a lot of Spooks box sets in our local video shop - DH and I recently went right the way through when they were on Virgin. Really good.
Not sure what TV set up you have but The Mentalist is on Virgin OD at the moment - I find that fun and not too complicated.
On a slightly different subject - I see you have seen Breaking Bad - I haven't seen it yet and I don't know when it will be coming to non-Sky channels. I've heard it's amazing - is it worth buying the first series or waiting?Skeletons ain't got nowhere to stick their money, nobody makes breeches that size.0 -
