Me and my OH have recently become obsessed with Bones, nice mix of crime and comedy!

Brilliant. Thank you! I'm going to have a google at the suggestions but this is exactly what I was hoping for.

Jericho struck me, it looks like exactly my sort of thing so might watch it regardless and it got 8/10 on imdb which is high. I can't believe I haven't heard of it.

We watch Psych and my 13 yr old DD likes it - it's quite light hearted.

We have also been watching Grimm which is about monsters but not too scary (I don't do horrors!) We're waiting for the rest of Touch episodes to be shown so I imagine they will show the first season up to date before they come out. It's non-violent, non-scary, non-sexual but has a good storyline behind it.

Doctor Who starts again at the weekend, that seems to go down really well with teenagers.

Does your boy want to do this? Every night?

No it would be a once a week thing probably and he's a very un-teen like teen, i.e enjoys my company occasionally - he's enthusiastic, it's just finding the right thing.

It has a small number of obsessive fans!

The second series was only commissioned after a creative campaign by the fans who wanted to see the story wrapped up:

Oh, Firefly is good too. Kind of a western in space made by the guy who did Buffy, Angel and the Avengers film.

That's just one series and then a feature film called Serenity.

Sherlock for sure if you havent seen it. Short but lots of fun.

Theres only one season of Newsroom but I quite liked it and I dont remember there being anything graphic - its by the same guys who wrote the West Wing. Ideal if hes becoming politically aware as it follows the news stories of the year.

I know you're not considering it but definitely not Breaking Bad, the episode where the girlfriend dies had my 30 year old, male OH in tears!
