A good drama to watch with teenage son?

OH is away a lot of the week and DD goes to bed an hour earlier so I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas of box-set dramas that I could watch with my son.
I like psychological stuff, conspiracy things, something that gets you thinking. We have The Wire, Breaking Bad, Soprano's, Homeland, The Good Wife probably more that I can't remember. I have loved all of them though think not all are appropriate and I don't want to watch again. I like a lot of the well regarded American dramas.
He likes House, it's his first foray into 15 type drama dvd's ( he's 13, so shoot me ). I've suggested Lost, which was a no as he read the end. He has life on Mars, loads of comedy dvd's. I'd just like something gritty that we could get into together that's no too sexual, violent or nightmarish ( like really paranormal stuff - I'm a wuss) but that gets you thinking and looking forward to the next episode.
I would love any suggestions - thanks!

I'm trying to think of good shows that aren't too violent or sexual... Once Upon a Time is pretty good.
There are also Psych and Monk which I love, both crime dramas but with a much lighter feel and will be enjoyable for a 13 year old (he'd probably enjoy the cheeky comedy of Psych more than Monk TBH).
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Fringe, Grimm, Criminal Minds (currently repeating in the day on one of the Sky channels)0

Jericho. About how a small town copes after a nuclear attack on the US, then it gets more complex, conspiracies and so on.
Its largely unheard of but really good. The story resolves satisfactorily in one and a half seasons as well rather than dragging on for years and years like some US dramas.0 -
It's old, but it had me and my son absolutely gripped.
Das Boot. (the Boat)
Yes, it's dubbed but you quickly stop noticing, yes it's about life on a German submarine during WW2, so it's not the most obvious thing to watch, but my god it is fantastic!Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Revenge is pretty good. I'd let a 13 year old watch it, I think.0

Doctor Who starts again at the weekend, that seems to go down really well with teenagers.
Does your boy want to do this? Every night?0
