    Hi everyone,

Dinner last night was hm cottage pie using turkey mince. If I'm honest I don't think I will be making this again in a hurry :( It was just a bit 'odd' - don't know why - quite a strong taste plus looks odd - DH thought it was quorn mince :rotfl:Used up our homegrown baby leeks though so not a total disaster.

Tonight we are having grilled pork chops, mini roasties and green beans. I will skip the potatoes and have a large salad with mine in a bid to be 'good' :A

Getting the urge to bake a cake. Haven't made anything for a couple of weeks, although I know I will have to have some and that won't help my weight loss quest.

Will be shopping on foot tomorrow (car in for a service), which is good as it limits me to what I can carry. Just milk, veg, fruit I think.

    Coxy

I know what you mean about turkey mince. The 1st few times I had it (because my housemate needed to lower cholesterol) it was okay in chilli, but awful in bolognaise. It needs a 'lot' of herbs/spices compared to beef mince (and the texture is a bit slushy :p)

What's happened is that we've just nearly cut mince completely from our diet rather than making turkey mince a replacement....:(

My housemates cholesterol disappeared from being excessively high, to completely gone, as a result of the diet change. It really shows how many meals based around sausages, bacon, prawns, cream, cheese etc I used to have! I remember when I first started I wondered how I would cope. But I've tried to make meals as different as possible.

Anyway - NSD's recently. Will report tomorrow though because there will be spends.

I've gone over my £180 budget for the 3 of us and the dog, I'm at £191 and am going to do a little bit of shopping before the weekend.

I'm hopeful that I can come in at around £180 in the summer months and am not going to beat myself up for how I've managed this month.

    Reasons for going over include:

Ordering £20 worth of stuff from Approved Foods that wasn't needed, some will go into a charity table top sale I'm doing tomorrow so that will make me feel better :)

Buying the most loo paper I've bought in months this month, due to me having whooping cough -- I think this may be too much information. . .

Buying bottled still water after not getting round to having broken kitchen tap reI

Sorry I cut myself off there and lost rest of post but our kitchen tap wouldn't stop running and needs replacing, as I've been ill, the plumber is still waiting for a call from me to come and do it. I should have boiled more water and let it cool.

I suppose life has got in the way of hitting a £180 target this month but I will try again next month and I'm not going near Approved Food, I could have bought stuff on offer in supermarkets and not had to wait a week for it.
