Well done sefilby, I wish you could share your secret of coming that under budget :)

A couple of other spends to report. £ 9.64 in Morrisons and £10 in the butchers which I didn't really need but as I was parked outside it thought i'd pop in and try a couple of their goodys :)

My budget is a bit misleading if I am honest, on nights DH works late he gets meals from the site cafe curtesy of his employers. So kidlets and I end up sharing a meal, I always cook 2 1/2 portions to match two full grown adults and two little ones. What doesn't get eaten goes in the freezer so more often than not I have a meal for nothing built up of leftovers.

Last month wasn't so good I went over, May budget still has a little while to go but I've had help from Mr T vouchers and other money off coupons found on her & FB.

I expect that as kidlets grow, my budget savings will shrink lol!

    Hi everyone,

Dinner last night was hm cottage pie using turkey mince. If I'm honest I don't think I will be making this again in a hurry :( It was just a bit 'odd' - don't know why - quite a strong taste plus looks odd - DH thought it was quorn mince :rotfl:Used up our homegrown baby leeks though so not a total disaster.

Tonight we are having grilled pork chops, mini roasties and green beans. I will skip the potatoes and have a large salad with mine in a bid to be 'good' :A

Getting the urge to bake a cake. Haven't made anything for a couple of weeks, although I know I will have to have some and that won't help my weight loss quest.

Will be shopping on foot tomorrow (car in for a service), which is good as it limits me to what I can carry. Just milk, veg, fruit I think.

£4.44 spend today in C*-*p ... was only planning on getting I can't believe it's not butter light (as it's half price), but also picked up YS strawberries, two x YS Kingsmill Fruit and Fibre and Muller light choc dessert tor half price also. I'm doing better than last few months but still not as good as i'd like, by a longshot.

Will try and update sig on phone now. If not, then will update once on larger appliance.

Edit : Last night's tea - Macaroni with broccoli and corn on the cob.

Coxy I use the turkey mince for chilli where the strength of the other flavours mask it IYSWIM.

I also only count cash spends towards the GC -not vouchers or freebies.

Lidl tonight for milk for the boys, some RTC at 30% off stuff which was useful - £3.70 for 2.2kg chicken quarters which have been individually frozen. Not popular in this house but some meat is better than none in OH/SSs eyes.

MrS on the way into work ('need' butter - had to pay £5 2* 500g  but the MrS ownbrand is horrid) got lake district mature cheddar £2.20 for 350g which is nice and strong. Grated and frozen so that I can't munch it between meals. Also 500g Chana Dal on offer for 60p - cheaper than red split lentils atm.

I've lost track of my budget - I either have £20 or £30 left, but I can't remember which. With only 8 days left to the month, I think I'll just see if I can live with what I have in the house. All I'll need is bread, ham and apples for my lunches next week!

I seem to have only spent €77.55 which is very unusual....know that OH paid one Lidl bill of about €50 but still seems very low....no doubt will find receipts for lots more any day now!
