None of us like porridge, or flapjacks so those 2 are out, I was thinking of maybe a good biscuit recipe perhaps, I've had a look online but so far found nothing that tickles my fancy
Hope you can help, thanks guys

Yummy, if you look at post 7 at the beginning of this thread and look for Twinks hobnobs. I have made them loads of times and my girls also love them

Last shop of the month done. Had to give in today as we had no fruit and nothing to drink but tap water!
Went to Aldi for milk, bread, coffee, squash, sparkling water, fruit, veg, cheese, margarine, orange juice, cranberry juice, beans, spaghetti and pasta. Total spend was £21.60 which puts us under budget for May if we don't spend between now and Monday :j
Dare not declare yet but I am so pleased with this and will be sticking to my monthly meal planning to do two big stock up shops to utilise two Aldi vouchers and a couple of smaller top ups. Hope it works next month as the holiday funds needs a serious top up:(
Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi everyone,
Paid 2nd purse this morning for items used this week - £41.60. Then went to Ts for some bits for the weekend. Got 8 pints milk, veg, salad, potatoes, fresh pasta sauce, plus some cereal as we used the last up this morning.
Total of £16.39 to add to my sig which leaves just £9.71 until next Friday
DH away this weekend (just left) so kids are having A!di ambient filled pasta with fresh tom/mascarpone sauce and green beans for tea. I will have the last of the meatballs from last night with my hm napoletana sauce and some salad.
Saturday we will have the small pork joint with roasties and veg. Sunday will be omelettes and salad as I'm working 9-5 and won't feel much like cooking when I get home. Monday DH is back and we will have leg of lamb from the freezer, with roasties and veg.
Should mean I only need to get salad and veg tomorrow to see us through til Tuesday. Lots of snacks in the cupboard to get us through half term thank goodness. Roll on payday!
Have a good evening everyone.

Evening All
Small spend at Icel*nd on 2 x 4pts milk, 2 loaves bread and coffee = £5.
I'm declaring for May as per signature. Pleased to be more than £20 under budget I had reduced by £20 already :-).
Helped a bit by DS with hollow legs being away on school trip this week and not having had time to weekly shop tonight with new challenge month and budget starting tomorrow for me. So, might not be so easy next month. Having said that, quite well stocked, so might get away with top up shop this weekend. Might be assisted by car developing disturbing clanking sound front wheel, so anything bought will need to be carried home until garage have checked after Bank Holiday, hope not expensive repair.
Very pleased to have DS home, don't even mind the washing .
I'm off to June GC, night all, sleep tight. Guineapigsqueaks x

£11.08 spent on top-up shop in Mr A on Thursday, went for petrol and needed bread and milk - as usual came out over a tenner lighter but all things I would have got this weekend anyway. Only £27 left in the budget to cover my weekly shop this weekend so going to only get stuff we really do actually need and not a load carp and treats just because!0

I havent finished until 30th May, but just updated my sig for this week. The kids are off to their Dads tomorrow, so i wont be buying anything whilst they are away.0

NSD yesterday but today £8.43 in C*-*p on Quorn offer (2 for £3), two treats on offer, parsley pot (as my dried is running out, and want to start using fresh where possible), £1.12 for 600g salad plum tomatoes (fantastic price, as there are loads) and YS shallots and basic yoghurt. The shallots will be used for Beef Bourgignon on meal plan, yoghurt for Moussaka and Quorn for DD's meal. So, all things i would have used anyway. Treats possibly unnecessary.
First time i have made this. The sauce needs tweaking slightly and made thicker; but otherwise very nice, and definitely on the repeat list. krustylouise wrote: »Hi all,
Hope you are all well? Just wanted to say that I currently do y weekly shop at Ald! And have spent on average £24pw for the last 4 weeks. I seem to have got myself into a nice little routine of meal planning and sticking to shopping list. Yesterday I went "off the shopping list" with 3 things and spent approximately £5 over budget and it STILL came to £24 for the week!
I am managing to pay off my credit card and other little bits of arrears and also save £80 per week for a car. I'm feeling quite proud of myself and that I'm finally getting somewhere financially
