£9.63 spent today on fruit & veg which leaves me with just £6.62 left and another 6 days to go
It would have been more as I brought a 25k sack of potatoes for £9.50 (to split between us and daughter) but when opened them I took them back as the first 1/4 of the bag were just rotten, stunk to high heaven and mushy. didn't even delve any further in the bag. The bloke wanted to swap them and even emptied a new bag into a large vegetable crate to see what they were like, but they were nearly as bad so asked for my money back instead. I expect a few especially after all the wet we had but not as many as there were.
I still haven't got my head sorted out after last week. I took two portions of lo meat & potato pie out of freezer but when cooked it, it was chicken & mushroom!!!! Good job it wasn't apple pie and poured gravy all over them.So the plan now is to keep the damage to a minimum and start again in June.

Made my own version of this http://agirlcalledjack.com/2013/04/09/jardaloo-ma-murghi-curry-with-apricots-22p/
Got to say that i would never have thought of using tinned apricots in a curry, but it tasted SO NICE!! I changed it slightly by using red kidney beans instead of chickpeas, and added some carrots.0 -

Try approved foods for treats, they even sometimes have cereal. It doesn't always work out cheaper, but i've just managed to get quite a few bits, that were still in date. I'm terrible at picking up treats all the time too, even though there are only two of us. Hello all
Hope you are enjoying the weekend so far.
I haven't been on here much lately, still not feeling quite right so been keeping a low profile.
Not had many spends but need to tally up the receipts to see where we are with the budget and will update total in a bit.
Catch up later.

Been to Blackpool today with my Dad and partner, and DD. Had a lovely stroll up the pier in the sun but my poor feet are sore were my shoes have rubbed.
We nipped in P*undstretcher for a little look around whilst there. Grocery spends of £1.98, other purchases didn't class as groceries so should still just be under budget. Just need £1 spare for milk and if i have to i will bake bread this week.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 Jul £134.25/£150 Aug £119.37/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. £27.83 spent at Mr S which takes me a few pence over budget but happy with that as stocked up on laundry liquid on offer. No more spends till June now I hope!0

NSD today so still in budget - just.
For tea we had salad, jkt potato and some ribs. Plenty of ribs left for tomorrow as well so will be using them up. Made a nice change and enjoyed them although only had a couple as not that hungry today for some reason.
Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather we had today and fingers crossed we get similar tomorrow.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
A couple of small spends over the weekend. Bread rolls offer in M's and also got some chicken drumsticks to pad out a family meal today as we had a couple of extra guests. Managed to knock two different sorts of quiche, pizza and some pasties out of what was lurking in the cupboards and the freezer. Also had a lemon cake and a sticky toffee pudding from some batch baking I did a couple of weeks ago.
I was really pleased with myself because not so long ago I would have shopped especially for a get together like this and spent a fortune. this time it was £2.50 on some chicken:)
Declaring May as sucessful £167.24:j
See you all over on June and thanks again for keeping me focussed:T
