Back from a!di and sainsbugs spent £73.96. Still a lot but £55 better than last week :j. And hopefully there won't be any top up shops

Attempting the takeaway secrets cheeseburger with fries tonight, works out just under 45 p for the burger and maybe 12p for the fries
Hopefully it will be fairly authentic
  • Fabbo to see everyone doing so great. I have only spent 14.85 so far this month and will just need to do a top up shop tomorrow of no more than 10.00 and i will really be under budget, nopt sure how i'll do in a ciuple of weeks when freezer is a bit lower but ho hum pigs bum, will be grand.

NSD today thank goodness as the car has failed its MOT in spectacular fashion . Honestly, I get so frustrated with taking one step forward and two steps back but there is no point moaning we will just have to have a very frugal month :(

Left over roast beef in wraps with onions and gravy with roast pots and peas which was lovely.

Hope everyone has had good day:)

Did my weekly shop at Mr T armed with list I had done online last night and did not deviate from said list. Had my £5 off £40 spend voucher and Mr T has given me another this time, so that will do for next week. Buy quite a few Everyday Value items which I rate and are low prices anyway, but this time pleased with my half price lean beef (hopefully) mince 750g for £2.75, half price ready basted turkey joint which will do for me, DS and DD for £2.50 and Clover on BOGOF, so £1 each. Also got some sparkling drinks to take to family roast tomorrow. Final spend after £5 voucher and, wait for it, 2p price promise credit from last week, = £36.17.

Will update signature. Still on target I think :).

Picked up my order from the cooperative. Have 12 litres of soymilk, tins of toms and beans, tomato puree, f&v, ground coffee and a couple of cleaning bits. €44.78 to total and no more trips to the shops til I run out of veg after the weekend :)

  • Evening all,

Just back from mr m. £43.22 spent, really really happy with this. I got loads for my money (for a change) including a whole chicken, big packs of diced beef & mince, 2 nice pieces of salmon, king prawns, chicken drumsticks & thighs, a whole load of fruit & veg, cereals, lunch items which should last 2 weeks, washing powder & a few store cupboard staples.
Like I said really happy with the quality & value at mr m lately :j
Also spent 99p in 99p shop on food bags.
    Sig already updated.

I have meal planned for the next few weeks & really can't see me needing much bar fresh fruit/veg & milk.

    I love this challenge!!! :j

Hope everyone is well & have a lovely evening.

NSD here again. I will be spending tomorrow.
For dinner we had HM salmon quiche with HM wedges + baked beans + mushy peas - odd combination but I am so tired.

Thanks for the ideas of Lamb.
I don't normally eat red meat, and haven't eaten lamb in years, so i am not sure i'd feel confident cooking it. But i might give it a go nonetheless.
I like the idea of slow cooking it-can that be done?

First small spends of the week - OH didn't want the planned dinner so bought a pizza, £1.50 and some value salad 49p *eyeroll*

Made mackerel pasta again myself - yum! And mincemeat and apple cake for dessert, even better :)
