Been to Morri$ons this morning and spent £12.59 on fruit & veg. Brought bananas, oranges, tomatoes, pears, mushrooms and a paper.
Last nights tea went down well and as well as the fish & salad we had a few fries. Tomorrow we are having by request sausage & mash as 2 grandchildren here and its one of their favourites - mind you they are very good and will eat most things.

That looks delicious - one of my faves :)

Little spend of £1.87 today - 47p YS milk roll (no reduced salad at a reasonable price, so left it) from local shop and £1.40 on a sausage butty for DD. She has been walking past the local take out shop and sniffing the aroma for months, and caved in :rotfl:. Must taste nicer than my homemade.
    Off to update sig.

Just back from Mr T with a spend of £31 - not sure how it ended up being that much because it didn't look a lot.
Oh well, that will teach me to go without the list (left in the kitchen:mad:).

I am aiming for £200 this month. This month I have spent £66 (Aldi). I spent £4.50 on a bottle of sparkling wine but my husband was leaving that evening (he works overseas) so I thought I would add something nice for our last meal together.

Sorry, but I forgot to ask. In this grocery challenge for food only? Are cleaning products and toilettries included in the budget, or are they a separate category?

Hi everyones different. I tend to add my toiletries, house cleaning products and clothes washing products to my budget. As you cant really do without some of these, they are neccessities to me unless you make your own. Some include pet food (i havnt a pet). so its what suits you. I include the occassional bottle of wine but not spirits as i dont buy spirits that often.
  • Just another update i spent £1.77 in A**i yesterday for the super 6 which finish today, i also spent £1.90 on lots of YS veg in MrTs. Ive got so much veg now i could feed an army lol. Looks like its vegetable soups for me, and veg with my roasts, infact veg with everything. Very healthy :rotfl:

Please let us know how you got on

Thanks SWCNC- i decided just to ho with chicken this week, and look for some lamb on offer, or look for some lamb chops as i'd feel more confident about cooking them i think.
I'll let you all know how i get on :)

Hi everyone. Just done our weekly shop which should really have been a small top up but ended up a bit more than that. Went to Aldi and got 4 lots of carrots, parsnips, onions and leeks and two lots of broccoli before the super6 change. Tomorrow will be soup making day and the rest will be chopped up and frozen. Also got some split tin loaves for the freezer from Morrisons as they are on offer at 65p and they make lovely sandwiches and toast. Last stop was £stretcher for kitchen roll (2 packs of 4 for £1.79). Total spend was £34.67 so no too bad but will really need to be careful now.
