    Hi all,

Went to T's today and now I'm over :( Got a ys pork loin joint which will do for a midweek dinner and mussels, frites and french bread for tonight, plus the usual f&v and salad etc.

I will be moving over to May now as DH has been paid. Declaring at £466/£450 but have a fair bit of meat in the freezer which will come in handy next month.

Keeping the same budget for next month (down from £600 prior to joining this challenge) so fingers-crossed.

Argh! I keep track of all my spending in a little note book & I'm starting to add up all of my categories as we head to the end of the month. But in my notebook my grocery spends add up to £337 & in my sig they add up to £382.50. Now I don't know where I've recorded correctly :(

Either way I should come in under budget 'cos all I need 'til weds is some fruit & cold meats..... But I'd love to know which of those totals is correct......

My monthly spend is just £164.89 for April, thanks to being away for two weekends over Easter so overall we are slightly under for the year to date. However, there is this underlying worry-bead that I forgot to record something in my spreadsheet. As DH was paid on Friday, that completes our month and I am over to May spend now. See you over there.

    Take care

Good afternoon, ok very disappointed with this months failure Iv managed to overspend by about £37:( this is a result of me not keeping track and buying on a whim, tescos wine discount and days out/days away. I was really disheartened as I did so well in January and Feb so thinking I may give up the challenge, defeatist I know. Am going to give it one more month to see if I can get back on track, notebook at the ready for spends, folder ready for receipts fingers crossed no temptation comes my way. I should not be too hard on myself as over all of last year I managed to bring down my budget by about £60 a month on average, however Im not sure where that £60 a month spare money went? So this month declaring £237.00 and am now popping over to May thread. Thanks

Since the last update (on the 6th epp) we've spent £78.81

    £113.15/£140

Will be doing a small shop tomorrow that is in April as May doesn't start untill the 1st. Hoping we don't spend more than the £26.85 we have left.

Big shop at Ald1 came in at £38.17 with various vouchers - HUGE trolley full of stuff for this though including a few treats as we have guests staying for 3 days this week.

This takes me to just over £130 for April against a £120 budget. A little disappointed with this, but think possibly reducing from £150 in one foul swoop was a little much!

£100 for next month sounds crazy compared to this, but we are away a lot, so let's see!

Beef stew with barley in the slow cooker for dinner, onwards and upwards!

Awwww *hugs* - don't give up!! If you have to, increase your budget slightly - it'll still save you more than giving up will :)

cattysmum - Are you setting yourself a realistic budget to start with. I would increase it and then after a month or two try to reduce it. If you gave up would you not spend even more?

K9sandfelines - your lasagne looks lovely.

Need to update spends as they are now at £168.65 leaving me £51.35 until Wed so will almost certainly be with in budget.

Today we had beef stew with pearl barley, mashed potatoes, broccoli and the last of the parsnips roasted. Enough left over for lunch tomorrow and mum took a portion home.
