    Morning!

I am declaring that i have FINALLY managed to keep within budget!! Hooray! :j :j

    Total for April- £226.73/£240

I have found it incredibly hard to feed us on £60 a week, and some weeks it's been almost impossible, but i have managed it. I have refused to buy extra bread or milk or biscuits when really needed, just so that i keep within budget.
Surely it shouldnt be that hard? There is only myself and my 2 children (9 and 13). Even though they snack a LOT, i think i am going wrong somewhere.

I have tried making HM snacks, but that cost me more in ingredients than the boring value biscuits and cakes etc cost.

hello, have you tried getting snacks from Approved Food? I gave it a go last week and paid £20 with a saving of £48, according to the website. I've got a box full of biscuits for May x

I'm declaring April, and I have gone over budget by about £7 but that is because there were a load of whoopsies that were too good to miss so I say in that case it doesn't matter too much.

Definitely going over budget after such a careful start

£4.80 in MrS last night on a YS whole duck and some veg
OH spent £2 in P0undland on lemon tea and honey (he's got a cold!) and around £5 on cr4p basically from our expensive village shop (crisps and biscuits) because he was off work feeling rubbish!

That's all before our main Ald1 shop tomorrow which will be at least £35 to make use of our voucher, so definitely over.

On the plus side, this is all really food to be eaten in May (which is good as I have lowered the May budget again!). I think our happy medium may be around this budget, but it will be good to look back after 3 months and see.

MrsCautious - I think you are doing amazingly well and definitely deserve some treats.
    .
  • spent another £3 midweek on bread and milk :(
Declaring £237.84 for this month -paid yesterday so will pop on over to may.

Not too much over but hopefully do better next month !
    . FEB GC £255.82£240 :mad::mad::mad:
    MAR GC 230.46/ £240 :T:T
    APRIL GC 237.84/ £230 :(:(:(
MAY GC £296.10/£ 270 (5 week month !)

Nipped to A1di tonight for my last shop of the week. I've come in £3.50 (£86.50/90) under budget for the month, but that includes having bought food for need weekend as well as so,e baking ingredients which will last ages!

This week I'm making ho,e-made cereal bars, which is quite exciting! Going to have a go at peppermint creams as well.

    Oh that's a shame :)

I've balanced a box on top of the fridge...well actually I eat the biscuits too quick so don't really need the room...

thank you that's a lovely thing to say.

I love duck, have never seen that YS, there was some YS guinea fowl last week - £1.85 for the whole bird, but I didn't know what it tasted like, I thought it was more gamey.
