cattysmum - Are you setting yourself a realistic budget to start with. I would increase it and then after a month or two try to reduce it. If you gave up would you not spend even more?
K9sandfelines - your lasagne looks lovely.
Need to update spends as they are now at £168.65 leaving me £51.35 until Wed so will almost certainly be with in budget.
Today we had beef stew with pearl barley, mashed potatoes, broccoli and the last of the parsnips roasted. Enough left over for lunch tomorrow and mum took a portion home.
It was thanks B-J.Two portions for the freezer leftover. Yours looks lovely also.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 Jul £134.25/£150 Aug £119.37/£150 Sep £170.48?/£150 Oct £/£160 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Morning all,
I went to Sburys this morning and bought bread, milk, toilet paper and sausage rolls. Sausage rolls are currently 20 for £1 and the loo paper was reduced from £8 something to £6 for 16 rolls, working out just a fraction more than the value range. I used £2.50 off my Nectar card to make it a total spend of £5.39, so not too shabby.
I will buy some salad tomorrow. Should have this morning really, oh well.
My meal plan for this week is as follows at the moment but the later bit may get swapped around as I will be shopping either Weds/Thurs and I may even hit Waitrose for a mooch around their YS meat as I will be round that way for an appointment:
Mon - feeding one extra as children's friend coming for tea: YS turkey fillet (£1.75) in hm pasta sauce, pasta, veg, YS garlic bread (25p) Aunt Bessie lemon meringue pie and Iceland clotted cream ice cream, both bought with vouchers rewarded as a freebie from Top Cashback.
Tues - YS reduced fat fresh beefburgers, YS bread rolls, salad, hm wedges. Angel Delight style pudding (Sains own) from Approved Food - 10p a packet.
Weds - YS mini pork joint (99p) , Aldi Yorkshires, roast potatoes, gravy and veg. Fresh/tinned fruit salad with ice cream.
Thurs - Bacon, mushroom and red pepper omelette and baked beans for 2 of us, beans and bacon on toast for 1. Pudding TBC as will be shopping before this, possibly Sains rice pudding @15p a tin with fruit.
Fri -- just me as girls at friend's -- toast or something.
Sat: Chicken burgers, salad, hm wedges or made into pasta bake.
Sun: YS lamb steaks, roast dinner.0 -
Good afternoon, ok very disappointed with this months failure Iv managed to overspend by about £37:( this is a result of me not keeping track and buying on a whim, tescos wine discount and days out/days away. I was really disheartened as I did so well in January and Feb so thinking I may give up the challenge, defeatist I know. Am going to give it one more month to see if I can get back on track, notebook at the ready for spends, folder ready for receipts fingers crossed no temptation comes my way. I should not be too hard on myself as over all of last year I managed to bring down my budget by about £60 a month on average, however Im not sure where that £60 a month spare money went? So this month declaring £237.00 and am now popping over to May thread. Thanks
Dont give up, you have done so well in reducing by 60.00 on average, so an overspend this month dosen`t matter when you look at the bigger picture.Slimming World at target0 -
hello all
Well done to everyone this month, keep going with the lists, mealplans, targets etc it does make a difference and some months will be easier than others.
Just bought bread and milk, so £4.79 spend today. DH bought a few bits last week but can't find receipt so adding on another £10 which should cover it.
Have been really careful this month and so am declaring today on total of £274.85 for April, which is a fabulous £50.15 under the lowered target. The next spend will be out of May budget, however it is going to be a hard month to keep on track.
Updating sig with April figures then will move over to next month.
See you there

Hi everyone
Signing in for the last time for this month. Officially I will end the month tomorrow and start afresh on Wednesday 1st, but today and tomorrow will be NSD. Will pop over to the new May thread after this.
So spent £101.36 from budget of £125 so a good month.
So will reduce by £5 next month and see if I can do better. I have quite a lot left in my freezer. I have had a few takeaways but that is from my social budget as I don't go out in the evening and eat out on my own!!
All the best for the new month and have a lovely spring Bank Holiday weekend :T
