How fabulous LL!
I think you have a right to be excited.:D
Had a lovely day today - posh lunch and an afternoon with The Fling.
I'm going to see family tomorrow and not looking forward to the epic drive....mum seems quite excited so I can make the effort to please her. She's booked a restaurant and everything for tomorrow evening - you'd swear I never went home! Was only there 3 weeks ago!:rotfl:
Won't be around much for the next few days so I hope everyone has a Fab Friday and fantastic weekend.
xx0 -
just lost a long post-bl**dy computer:mad: i'll try again!
wow lots of good news on here :j.
Go girls nothing wrong with a bt of fun;)
You must be really pleased with OH's improvement LL hope it continues.:)
A bit mixed here, DD2 is still not her normal self. Test results due later hoping it's nothing serious.
Have finished my last OU assignment and have signed up for another creative writing starting in the autumn. Am going to carry on writing over the summer and am thinking of entering some competitions and submitting to magazines some of my old assignments with the better marks.
Have put on 2llbs:( probably due to birthday chocs but need to get back on track with it.
Have also been looking at outfits for the wedding but am not sure I want to spend shop prices for something I will most likely never wear again. I narrowly missed out on a dress on ebay yesterday - is it acceptable to wear something from ebay to your son's wedding?
I have been invited out for a get together with yoga club over the weekend so have been subject to the usual cr*p from other half -'it's expensive there', thought you hadn't got any money?' etc etc. I can't afford it really but am going even if I have to have the cheapest meal and nurse my drink for the whole evening. There's also a bit of a get together after class next week which the teacher hopes to make a regular thing so am hoping to manage that too.
DD2 and DS3 are going to help me with taking flyers and leaflets out for businesses- I've done ones for both dog walking and decorating - we'll see what happens.
Enjoy fab friday everyone, the sun is shining again!Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Hello Ladies
I'm exhausted. I have just been to see OH. I have decided to capitalise on the slight improvements and have started a new exercise regime with him.
Deep breathing for his lungs. Some core muscle work - that was hard going for him. Some pretend bicep curls, no weights of course, some ankle wiggling and some leg extensions. The right side he can manage himself but there is nothing on the left side. I have to move his left limbs for him. Then I ended with a speech exercises.
It was blimmin hard work - for both of us. So I'm just going to the post box and then I'll need a nap.
I've promised to torture him again on Sunday.....;)
Tomorrow it's house hunting with the boys - have 5 properties booked, including a naughty one for me. Then I'll take them out for a nice posh lunch somewhere uber cool and trendy.
Lizzie - keep going and just ignore your man's snidey comments.
He just ain't worth it gal. !!!!.
Ebay outfit for your son's wedding. Why not if it's nice.0 -
Sorry this is quick but am pleased to hear all the positivity on here. Great news for both LL and WW in their different ways.;)
Just came on to post that there's no problem wearing whatever you like to a wedding. The last two weddings I went to I wore a dress from Tesco to the first and from Sainsbury's to the other. Plus I've worn them both since and didn't feel I'd wasted any money.:Tfor sticking to your guns and going to the yoga do. It's great to see you sticking up for yourself, it's as if you're starting to move away mentally from DH already.
I'm far from fab today. I should have washed my hair and the rat's tails (got a bit wet yesterday) are not a good look. I'm off out soon so I'll put a bit of slap on and see if it improves anything!:D0 -

Squid your Ex sounds a right tool, better off without from sounds of it xxx

Hard work Bitsy but exciting.Good luck with it all.
Thanks for all your comments re the wedding outfit - am still perusing ebay and thnk it will most probably be something from there I wear. Thing is there are so many I'm spoilt for choice. I might get a couple if I can get them cheap enough and re sell the one I don't want. I treated myself to a new pair of jeans yesterday off there for £1.50 (4.50 with postage) they are a 10 so better make sure no more weight goes back on.
DD2's results aren't showing a problem so it looks like it could be a trip to the hospital. Will be taking her to dr's next week to discuss it.
One final thing I don't know if anyone remembers but a while ago I began dermarollering as an experiment, you need to do it 4/5 times per week or every other day for 3 months and then you can drop it down slightly to 3 times per week. I did the 3 months and didn't think I could see any effect on the lines round my mouth or anywhere else really so I stopped it to see if I'd notice a difference. After not doing it for 2 months -I DO - the lines look more pronounced now and my face looks tired and not as fresh so am going to begin again with it.Obviously if you have it done at a salon the results will be more visible but I am fairly wrinkle free for late 40's so at home is fine for me. It feels a bit strange at frst but you don't press on so it's not too bad.
Looks like a beautful day again enjoy it while it last everyone.x

Hi all,
Just been catching up with you all, too much to comment on individually but
ww - hope you're enjoying your trip home
lizzie - nothing wrong with ebay for a dress, also charity shops might be good - I was meeting a couple about a wedding last week in a slightly posher part of town and had a quick look round the charity shops there afterwards, noticed loads of nice dresses many with designer labels (much more than the ones in my area lol) so if there's a nice area near you maybe go have a mooch
bitsy - yay on the new house (I'm sure will be such a relief to be settled again!)
LL - sounds very encouraging about OH, fingers crossed the improvement continues
So, been a fairly hectic week! The funeral was on Wednesday, service was nice and quite a good turnout in the end. Was quite nice to see family again, especially those from abroad as haven't seen them in years and probably won't again as they don't have much reason for coming back now with my grandma gone. Back to work yesterday, plus another interview which I didn't get (I suppose at least they let me know this time!). Getting a little worried but do have the odd Chinese job as backup, she emailed asking if I wanted to start this week - which I obviosuly can't but might be able to put off for a few weeks. New girl was still there when I got back which was a little disappointing :rotfl:She seems to have done very little in the meantime, still one of the bosses has been off as well and think he's realised by now that she's not getting up to speed as fast as she needs to be.
On another note have weighed this morning and have put on another pound and am now higher than I've been in about a year so back on the wagon! Been eating reasonably healthy today (though I need to do a shop for veggies and things) and started back on first day of 30 day shred. Definetely completely out of shape as it was back to half killing me! Still must stick with it this time.0 -
I've had a very good chilling and relaxing day today - very nice indeed!
Off out first thing for the weekend dog walk for an hour
Then back out for a 4 mile run
Then did all the cleaning that needed finishing and washing
Then back out for another longer dog walk
Then made tea from fridge and storecupboard ingredients
Then decided to do the stock up shop as felt full of energy - got some heavily reduced fresh whole fish as a result my favourite- yeah! All parcelled up in the freezer now
Next will fab my self up ready to settle down and watch the athletics
Oh yes did read my uni paper too!
Tomorrow will be much the same with a walk up to town and back for a planned spend day I think.

Hello Everyone
Bitsy - glad to hear things are going well on the house search and good luck with the proposed purchase. I bet you can't wait to get moved and have your family complete again.
Well we went house hunting today and we have found "the one" - yes you've guessed it - the Grade II built in 1756 ex pub now cottage......:rotfl:
The boys loved it. It was even better inside than I could have imagined, 4 beds, wood burner, all quirky angles and lots of nooks and crannies. We are going to put an offer in .........Fingers crossed.
If we get it the boys and I are all going to live together for a couple of years....there's more than enough room for us to spread out and not get in each others hair. It will be lovely to have both of "my babies" back with me again, all under one roof:D.
A very sad day yesterday - to cut a long story short - mum had to go into a nursing home last night as an urgent admission. Yesterday morning was the final straw - she fell out of bed - bloody Social Services:mad:
A few weeks ago I had to badger them for a hospital bed for her because I felt she was no longer safe in her own bed. I told them she needed side rails. The bed arrived a couple of weeks ago, no blasted side rails, although no one bothered to tell me.
My dad, as usual, fought me every step of the way and didn't want the hospital bed. He couldn't see that she was at risk so when the side rails didn't materialise he didn't bother chasing them up. He didn't even place any pillows or bolsters to help keep her from falling out. I wish I had known. I had just blithely assumed that they had been fitted and that she was safe. I should have double checked but I have been so busy with my OH's new treatments ......
It's a miracle there were no broken bones but she is badly bruised.
Today she was so confused and disorientated - she knew she wasn't in her own home but couldn't grasp what was happening....
It was awful. I bathed her eyes and combed her hair - it's all I could do for her.
I don't think this home is right for her but at least I managed to keep her out of hospital and save her the trauma of languishing on a trolley in A&E on a Friday night - it's like a war zone in there at the weekend. Anything rather than make her suffer that.
So I've now got to start nursing home hunting all over again......At least Dad has stopped fighting me now and has finally agreed that she needs proper nursing care. At least she is safe now.
What a week. The fabbing has been just the basics - needless to say no proper exercise but I've managed to stick with the healthy eating - more or less so I feel remarkably ok. I have kept a fridge full of healthy goodies so even when it's just been "grab it and go" I've eaten quite well.
One thing I really must do though is get back on the glucosomine - my knees are giving me gyp:rotfl:
Good night all. X0
