A lovely start to the day - usual long weekend dog walk in the breight sunm then back for a run - just 4miles today in the lovely sun, breeze and under that bright blue sky!

Washing on, I'm showered, dressed, hair pre treated and hair masked all done and nails tidied up. Having a little rest with a coffee, toast and kit kat and few pieces of choccie - hungry!

Evilsquid - what a sorry tale.

Big hugs to you and well done on seeing the light and leaving him to it.

You've done absolutely the right thing, you can start again and rebuild your life. You really are better off without him but I guess you have sussed that out for yourself.

Great news about the training contract - onwards and upwards.

Exactly what she said!! Well done evilsquid. I posted yesterday that I had a LBM as I approached 30 and walked out on my OH. It was messy and difficult at the time but I've NEVER regretted it for a moment. That sort of personal criticism is so debilitating plus his stupid teenage behaviour. You're well out of it and can start rebuilding your life just as you want it.

I've done a bit of fabbing today (usual shower, hair, slathering etc.). I've tried on the 5 bikinis and am keeping 3. One expensive one from Topshop and two cheapies from Sainsbury's. Now I'm going into town to return the ones I don't want and buy a microwave as ours eventually gave up the ghost yesterday. I'm doing a cauli/broccoli cheese with gammon and Jersey Royals tonight and the thought of making a sauce on the hob is scary!

Hope everyone's having a good day. It's bright but blowy here.

thank you for all the kind words everyone!

just had a nightmare with my car insurance, apparently the price of a new address and name is £800 on top of the £700 i paid a month ago! had to pay £55 to cancel as i got the choice of £800 on demand now as you have moved or £55 to cancel so ive had a mad morning trying to get a new policy. had to borrow off my parents as the £500 or so refund will take a week to come through and they really didn't care that i needed it asap to get to work tomorrow! annoying thing is, its cost me £977 for a whole new policy, with the same bl**dy insurer! where they got the £800 extra from i dont know! and then natwest put a fraud stop on my card :wall: all done now though, having a big cup of earl grey to calm down!

EvilSquid - good for you for sticking to your guns and getting out of there. You won't regret it - things will take a little while to settle and sort themselves out but ultimately its for the best. I got divorced after only 18 months of marriage - best thing I ever did. I then had 2 years of being completely on my own and now am having a non-serious fling. Never again for sock washing, putting up with football on telly and tidying up after a man for me! Life's too short to be unhappy - hope things work out for you. xx

Been shopping and have had a bit of a spree - I got a fabulous evening dress in Coast in the sale for the school prom (the teachers all dress up too, its quite a good night out normally). Its pewter and almost to the floor and makes me look curvy and femimine but classily sexy (and a size 10!) - get me, quite the femme fatal these days :rotfl: The Fling will be there so I want to make sure I'm absolutely superdooper - nobody at school knows so it will be our little secret ;)

I also bought some more new underwear - I'm laughing at myself as I type this! the cliche! - that makes the most of what I have. Thank God for push up, shove it all back where its supposed to be bras!:rotfl:A few tops from Next also leapt into the shopping bag - might take one back but one is definitely a keeper.

You might have gathered that I'm feeling loads better about myself these days - I'm no way near perfect but I've accepted what I've got and am trying to make the most of it. I think confidence is just like losing half a stone - you feel more secure and relaxed about yourself.
If nothing else, the past couple of weeks have given me a real boost in the ego department and I feel like a new woman. Now if only those last 7 lbs would magically disappear overnight :rotfl::rotfl:

I only managed 18 months too, im glad i realised early before there were complicated finances and children to sort out but i feel bad that we weren't married that long, it cost my parents money and we got gifts from family that he just blew on rubbish rather than actual big gifts. all im waiting for is my jacket back that i left at his mums and a final £44 that he owes me then its just the divorce to do. my friend at work checked it so its ready to go in when im ready to post it.

So what did I get up to today?

2 one hour plus dog walks, one 40 min run, read for uni this afternoon, 3 lots of washing all dried outside, more sweeping up in the garden to tidy it up. Did some reading this afternoon which made sense for a change - will read another chapter tonight. A cheap storecupboard meal of chicken and chorizo jambalaya which made more than expected so lots of easy teas and lunches for this week! All work stuff out ready to go tomorrow - just need to sort out a suitably stylish outfit :D

Nails tidied up and just about to exfoliate and face mask while reading that final chapter while the cricket highlights are on.

Also reading what everyone's been through makes me glad I am single after my relationship ended nearly four years ago and I can please myself exactly how I want to live my life. After all, life is there for living not putting up with

    Morning all!
The weather is rubbish again so will have to do indoors things today - there are lots of little DIY jobs that need sorting out so I'll try to get on with some of those to keep me occupied.

I made an enquiry for Botox treatment yesterday - have wanted to get this done for a while now and so finally took the plunge. Will wait and see what the doctor says when she gets back to me. I'm working tomorrow morning (revision sessions again) and the extra payment would almost pay for it so its a real temptation.
Get me, all image conscious! Being 41 is no fun compared with being 30 so its time to turn back time, or at least slow it down a bit, and make the most of what I have.
I don't think I'll turn into a plastic woman though - couldn't afford it for a start :rotfl:
I'd also love to have my teeth whitened and have seen a good offer that I may go mad with and take.

I don't think I'd go as far as surgery but a little bit of a helping hand won't hurt.....

Right, vanity session over with ..... time to get the dog walked, hope everyone has a good day. xx

    Good morning all.

It's raining here. I have a busy day planned - am taking one of OH's friends to visit but not until later so will crack on this morning and tackle some of those niggly little jobs that I've been putting off :o

Reading all your posts about rebuilding lives after relationship breakups has highlighted what a resilient bunch we are.

Ladies we really are fab - and getting fabber by the day......

Anyone ready for a new game????

Some time ago someone mentioned something called the 101 in 1001 challenge.

Basically you set yourself 101 goals and allow 1001 days to achieve them.

There is a website - where people have posted their blogs - I'll try and find it later.

The goals or tasks can be big or small, serious or fun.

Some of the really big ones might be more of a lifetime goal and won't be achievable in 1001 days - however you could break it down into steps and build those steps into your 1001 day plan.

As you know I'm 62 soon  I need to get a wiggle on......I've still got a lot of things I want to do, goals to achieve, places to see, people to meet.:D

If 101 sounds a bit daunting - how about going for 10 before the end of this year.

Anything you like - learn something, visit somewhere, doing something you've always wanted but never dared.., anything at all.....

WW - we'll count your Botox as one. Well done for getting as far as looking into it. I think I want to do this too - please keep us posted. Glad to hear you are having so much fun. Just enjoy it all......

I split from my first husband after 5 years of marriage although we had been an item for 9 years. I was 25 and I never thought or expected to marry again. I didn't want to. For the next 6 years I relished my new found freedom.

Then, one day I met my OH - quite unexpectedly. I was already dating and was not looking for "The One".

All that changed the fateful day I met my OH. It was like being struck by a thunderbolt!!. One minute I'm jogging along quite nicely and peacefully then he came into my life like a whirlwind. It was like being sucked up in a vortex.

I know I'm describing him in terms of extreme weather :rotfl: but that's just how it was. Before his illness he was a real force of nature. Resistance was futile!!!

It just goes to show. I thought I was destined to be a singleton.

Before I knew what hit me I was joined at the hip to the most exciting, charismatic man I could ever wish to meet. How wrong could I be.

Ladies - you just never know what's waiting for you.:D
