Hi all,
WW - go you! Definately still got it
Bitsy - nothing wrong with a wee doughnut now and againI find Asda a little odd for sizing, the tops and dresses tend to the generous side but the trousers I often need to go a size up - unless I'm just a very odd shape! :rotfl:
Anyway, interview yesterday was a little odd. It was with a Chinese woman who's set the business up from scratch to help Chinese young people who want to come to UK unis. She was really nice but I must admit I was struggling to understand some of what she was saying - one minute she was saying I was nice and could come work there and the next she was trying to talk me out of it saying I should stay where I was or go do bookkeeping work as it would pay better and other people would 'need my skills' more. She also kept saying that she had lots of people already but I could come as well if I wanted to?? Anyway she kept telling me to think about it and email her so I think (but could be way off!) that she'll give me some hours if I want them but it's on min wage on a self employed basis.
Had another one today (they're coming in thick and fast at least!) and this one is actually just the kind of thing I'm after. 16-20 hours a week, pretty flexible hours, the kind of work I'm doing at the moment and they seemed very nice (and slightly more sane!). However he is seeing quite a few people so will have to see - fingers crossed!
Funeral is confirmed for Wednesday morning, so have had to take Tue-Thurs off work. They were very nice about it but since we're closed bank holiday as well it's pretty much a week off the new girl's training. I really think they're going to struggle. Went through some things with her this morning - she's not wrote any of it down or anything and has sent me half a dozen emails this morning already asking me to do really basic things that if she doesn't know already she should be able to figure out. Still, I shall take Bitsy's advice and simply train her as best I can and then it's their problem when I leave! Will have to do the quarter end with her when I get back - that should be fun! :rotfl:
Hope everyone is having a good day - lovely sunshine here so hopefully some of you are getting to enjoy it and not stuck in work like me0 -
Good morning everyone
Well been busy here. Dad had a hospital appt yesterday so went to sit with mum. Took the opportunity to go through her wardrobe. Bless her it was in such a state. Dad has been looking after her clothes:eek: so I've weeded out the worst and then brought some home to re-launder and then get the sewing kit out, a lot of buttons missing, hems down that sort of thing.
There's a huge pile for the charity shop and quite a few for the rag recycling bag. Then I need to shop for her to fill in the gaps.
My sister bought her several pairs of trousers but they are all too long so I'll need to tackle them too. I can't do much for my parents but at least I can sort out her wardrobe now and then. I know she still likes to look nice.
I still haven't really shopped for myself yet......I noticed that Sainsbugs have one of the 25% off weekends on clothing this weekend. I might try and pop along. .
Good news re OH - had a message on my answer phone. I need to ring BUPA this morning to arrange delivery of his "wonder drug". At least I haven't got to go trailing over to Nottingham this time.
Pod - your episode with the Chinese lady made me smile. Sorry but she sounds like a nightmare - I think you might be better to keep looking. The second one sounds more suitable. Anyway you are getting the interviews so hopefully you should see something coming your way soon.
Who knows, if your replacement doesn't cut the mustard, your old employers might have a rethink and start looking at you in another light. They might actually realise what they've lost and then make you an offer you can't refuse.:rotfl::rotfl:
Hope the funeral goes ok.
Not much news here. Time to start the day. I feel as stiff as a board this morning, so need a good old soak in the bath and then some yoga to loosen up.
Have a good day, Keeeep Fabbing.:D0 -
Afternoon all!
One more day to a week off :j
Hope everyone is well?
Not a lot to report here really - just work and a bit of excitement with a few texts exchanged with the "fling".
Got told I looked happy and relaxed today - probably a combination of a distraction and the end of the half term.
Going to have to step up the grooming routine to stay as fab as possible. So its a bit more effort on my part - roots, defuzz, facials and nails - sounds like hard work!

WW - are you an ex Girl Guide by any chance. Sounds like your motto is "be prepared" - in readiness for "The Fling"....:rotfl:
Great news here.!! OH's drug trial starts next Wednesday.
Fingers crossed. Must try and keep my feet on the ground and not start counting my chickens just yet......
Discussed the price - £191 per month (including VAT). So not too bad. Why VAT though?? Sounds rather unfair. Cosmetics, confectionery yes but medicines!!!!
Will definitely have to step up my money making schemes. :rotfl:
Don't forget ladies - Fab Friday tomorrow.0 -
Good morning ladies
Fab Friday if you please. Get those glad rags on.
I'm off to see a house with DS2 - no intention of buying it because it's already been done up and is beyond our price range. However DS2 fancies a nose round - naughty boy!!
Then we'll toddle off to see OH, maybe a spot of lunch somewhere nice to save me cooking today. I fancy a day off.;)0 -
Hi all,
ww - enjoy your week off - hopefully you can find something fun to do during it
LL - fab news on OH's trial, fingers crossed it makes a difference for him. Hope you have a nice day today - and yup you deserve a day off!
Anyway, tickets booked for Sunday so will try and make the most of being down there and catch up with some friends and that while I'm there. Have also been offered a friend's spare room which is going to be much easier I think - though have a feeling my mum's going to say something about me not staying with her. It will be much easier with one less crowded in their house though (last time I spoke to her she was saying I could share a bed with her  now I love her to bits but I need my space!)
Not made a huge effort for Fab Friday I must admit but have on a short sleeved white top with black poppies on it and a grey cardi over the top (it's been much nippier today!) so reasonably smart. Nails have actually held up very well considering I've had the polish on a week now but wee chip on one yesterday so will redo them tonight or tomorrow.
Feeling bit knackered this week, have been trying to get my photo work finished for before I go down but was on it last night from as soon as I'd finished my tea until after midnight and while I managed to get the corporate job done then don't think the wedding will be finished in time. Will see I guess. Think am going to have a break tonight though and spend a bit of time with OH.
Hope everyone is having a good day x0 -
Just wanted to say I am away house hunting all next week. My head is a constant whirl of rightmove images :rotfl: so no Internet for me (how will I cope ).
Anyway those of you who are off have a fabulous week, those of you not off have a fabulous bank holiday.
I personally will be packing my thermals as the UK weather appears to forgotten to start warming up
Happy Friday everyoneI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

A fab afternoon at the work placement as we developed the project further for over the next few months - going well and is exciting!
Also found my perfectly fitted new pair of running trainers I have painstakingly saved up for for the last 6mths which I will be collecting next Friday. Really pleased with them as they fit so well and also hit my budget and not over which was a relief. And, I had the biggest smile on my face on the way home realising I could buy them, pay cash - not credit or overdraft - YEAH! Can't wait to get out running in them!
Off to see mum tomorrow for a coffee and a chat and a walk around the shops which I will fab myself up for nicelyfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Well ladies - the fling is certainly being flung at the moment! Saw him again yesterday - very good fun
Feel about 10 years younger - all this attention and excitement does wonders for the ego. I am officially a wanton woman :rotfl: Didn't think I still had it in me!
Who knows where it will go but I've decided to just go with the flow and enjoy it for now.
There are plans to get together later in the week so that's something to look forward to and to preen myself for.:)
I have to tackle the garden today - it seems that the weather is going to be ok so the time has finally come to tame the jungle. It will be hard work and not much fun with the hayfever but its getting beyond a joke now.
Hope everyone has a good bank holiday weekend. Off to take the dog for a good walk somewhere before calling in to B&Q for gardening supplies as soon as the shops open - no more putting it off.0 -
hi all,
LL-hope all goes well with the drugs trial. I agree about the VAT though, doesn't seem right.
PP- hope all goes ok for you too.
WW- Go girl. You deserve a bit of fun!
BITSY- happy house hunting.
Not much to report here DD2 is still ill - have had her to the dr's twice this week. We thought she had a urinary infection but tests showed nothing, dr says further tests are needed as the sample she did for her showed some changes. Needless to say am a bit worried now in case it's something more serious.
Am still working on OU assignment but other than that haven't managed to get to WA, or go out with the flyers. H has been moaning at every turn insisting DD2 is faking it and once the weekend came she'd be well - she isn't.
Will try to get back to everything next week if possible.
DD1's job seems to be going well so that's something.
Have a good day everyone looks like a sunny one for a change.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler
