Maman - just back from the gym and they were fine with the Groupon thing. Just had to show them the voucher and give them one of the ten coupons and show some photo id.

Did a full hour of cardio - running and cross training, was going to have a little dip in the pool too but there was a class in there, will do that tomorrow instead. Calories burned - over 500 :j:j No star jumps involved though!
Great value at £1.90 a go - never really had anything from Groupon before but would do this one again.:)

    Morning all,

Well I managed to do paint my fingernails last night, just a clear, growth varnish but then realised...d'oh...I couldn't remove my polish on my toes or I'd wreck my fingernails!

I did exactly the same at the weekend. :rotfl:

I have just sat down with my glass of water after having done the another face fabbing session. A sight for sore eyes I expect, sitting on the bathroom floor with my face pack on doing a stocktake of the contents of the bathroom vanity unit. :D I'm on a mission to reap the rewards of my investment on all of those lotions and potions - many, many face packs, scrubs and face wash things. They're all lined up neatly now, so I intend to work my way through them one by one rather than random bits of one or another.

I went and had a squirt of DKNY Delicious (Green one) today; that was really lovely, if anyone else is looking for something light and fresh.

    Evening All,

Well I had a lovely day in London. I took all the advice and wore flat shoes though I so wanted to wear my knee high boots. I wore a purple, short Oasis dress with V neck, a Laura Ashley knitted jacket, big chunky silver and black necklace and thick black tights with black loafers in the end.

We went to see Wicked and had lunch in Sarastros which is a theatre themed restaurant with a Turkish style menu. Both were absolutely fantastic and we had a wonderful day - with non stop talking throughout. I had tiny cheese and mushroom pastries for a starter, salmon for the main course and after the show an iced coffee and a coffee eclair.

We didn't actually do that much walking but I was perfectly comfortable and was pleased I'd gone for the flat shoes, especially as the lifts were so crowded at Covent Garden Tube Station we walked up 15 flights of stairs!! So that can count as my exercise for today.

Thanks for all the suggestions on what to wear.

Just a quick post to say I'm so pleased you had a good day rose. I've done those stairs at Covent Garden so I know exactly how you feel.

I adore Turkish food so had a quick look at the menu. I'll definitely be going there some time soon. Mucver Mmmm!

    Outfit looks fab!

Rose - glad you had such a lovely day. Turkish food is one of my favourites too - I love Middle Eastern cooking. Outfit looks fab and........Well done on the padded coat hangers;)

The ladies on here know my views of old regarding coat-hangers.

Metal hangers are the work of Satan!!! Cast them out I say. :rotfl:

Lovely day here, visited OH and then went to Aldi and stocked up lots of fruit and veg.

Other than that nothing special. I wore my new cream trench coat, felt nice and smart. Made a nice change from big heavy top coats.

Apparently we are in for some nice weathe soon. About time.....

Morning all! Loving the outfit Rose, very chic!
LL - if you get the nice weather can you send it a bit further north - poor forecast here :(

Well, today will be spent waiting around for the carpet fitters - you can guarantee that I'll be last on their list! I have plenty of marking to do so at least I can put the time to good (if not boring) use.
If they come at a reasonable time I'm going for a swim later using the the gym vouchers. I'm supposed to be going to a comedy night tonight but don't feel like it at the moment - will see how it goes today.

Now the house fabbing is almost complete the next project needs planning and saving for. Unfortunately, the fashia boards all need painting - the whole street's have gone all tatty and flaky after the winter (must be the weather as everyone's have gone yukky at the same time) . I've had a quote for £280 to put them right so that's what I'm aiming for saving-wise, about £200 to go.....
Also, the garden needs a complete overhaul - I'm NOT a gardener, in fact I can't stand it (probably due to really bad hayfever since a child) but even I can see that a good tidy up and a few pots with something in would make a massive difference. It has to be low maintainance (as I just won't do much!) and not very technical so I'll have to get some advice on what I can plant and when. Any suggestions? Think pots and lawn rather than digging!

Right better get the dog walked before carpet fitters "clock on " although I'll probably be waiting all day.

I keep one or two metal hangers to remove static from clothes. Just draw the metal hanger down the garment and as if by magic it draws out the static! Very quick if you are in a hurry.

So whilst I agree with you LL about using metal hangers for storing clothes they do actually have a use:)

    Morning all,

Rose - glad you had a good day in London, and your outfit looks lovely :) I'm quite jealous you went to see Wicked - I really want to see it, apparently it's coming to Glasgow in 2014 so not that long to wait :o

WW - hope your carpet fitters come soon, I'm hopeless with gardens so won't offer any advice there but there seem to be a lot of handy-type people in our area offering to do garden work and clearing pretty cheap. Obviously not as MSE but might be worth getting someone in for an hour or two to clear the heavy work, seems more fun when you get to do the planting/organising etc rather then the clearing/tidying :)

Anyways, didn't make my meetup last night, felt really tired and not really up for it. Did manage to get some writing done though so that's something. I finally bit the bullet and emailed one of my bosses yesterday about dropping my hours down in a few months - hasn't got back to me yet so I'll probably be on tenterhooks until then :o Should probably have organised a meeting rather than emailed but so hard trying to pin him down at the moment and I know he'll want to discuss with the other bosses as well so might as well let him get that out of the way first. Eep!
Hope everyone is having a good day x

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all!

My mum gave up on metal coat hangers after we kept raiding her wardrobe in school holidays to make mobiles :rotfl:

No real fabbing to report though I did receive a free pack of simple face wipes through the post yesterday. Can't remember signing up/asking/ever having simple freebies before but I'm not complaining :D

Off out to lunch soon so quick post from me.

I'm with LL on the covered coat hangers. Last winter I had a project to cover all my wooden ones. I padded them all with old tights/socks and then knitted covers for them. I copied some I'd seen in Cath Kidston. Added a bow or a felt flower to each and they look really good.

ww, it might be worth getting together with your neighbours to have the fascia boards done. A painter might be prepared to give a price for a group. On the garden front, my DD1 is in your position. She dug out her big flower bed last year, put a membrane down and covered with pea shingle with a few pots on top. Now all she has to do is cut grass and tend to pots. If you put perennials in the pots it's even easier. I think that's the way to go for low maintenance.

    Back soon.
