Morning all! Lots of good fabbing going on! It seems like many of you made an effort for Fab Friday (I didn't!)

    Tut, tut :rotfl:

Good the delivery men have been. Is the work all done - bet it looks fab.....Well done on the weight loss.

The sun is out:j:j and it seems warm.

Going to wash some knitwear and get it on the line. And, although it's not my garden I might have a little potter. Be nice to get some sun ....

OH not too well still. His consultant has offered him another brain biopsy. I've said no. I can't really see the point - I can't help feel it's more for medical research than actually improving my OH's condition. His illness is extremely rare and I do understand that further research is vital. .

However, I think OH has suffered enough and he is now far too weak for such a risky procedure. I suppose I ought to feel a bit guilty that I am holding up medical research, but tbh I feel I should put my OH's comfort and safety first. I suppose we could let them have his brain when he dies if it helps.

Anyway time to get fabbed up and start the day.

Re Fab Friday. For the newbies - it's just a suggestion as a way of getting us to rethink our approach to work-wear and everyday dressing.

We all tend to make an effort when we are going somewhere nice but how often do we just slip into the same old routine on ordinary days. So the idea is we get into the habit of making an effort on Fridays. Celebrate the coming weekend.

Once you've cracked Fab Friday - then making a little bit of an extra effort each day doesn't seem quite so daunting. We sometimes share with each other what outfits we are going to wear. It's fun and it helps generate ideas.

More about the psychology of dress another time.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

    Keeeeep fabbing. ;)

    Morning :)

WW- well done that's great news.. Sometimes it's the sneaky ones that come off that we don't expect that cheer us up the most :)

LL- thanks on the ff alert- I shall try and get more with it next week.... Even if it's just a little.. :) every little helps as they say :)

As for your husband LL I think what your doing is wonderful and there has to become a point when you say no more. Your husbands comfort and quality of life is more important than anothe invasive procedure that shows no sign off benefitting him other than research.

I wish you Botha happy weekend to enjoy the sun:)

I'm working this weekend but hopefully will get out a little with kids... Hope you all have great weekend :)

LL- Completely agree with sweetcheeks, at this time taking small comforts is valuable. There comes a point when someone has been undergoing treatment for a long time they just don't want to be messed about with anymore. Big hugs to you. Big hugs for being so brave and together about it all. xxxx

WW- well done on the weight loss great result :) Feel your pain on the marking i've got a tonne coming in the week I get back.. the calm before the storm almost. If you don't mind me asking what /who do you teach?

I've been to sainsbury's this morning (paid with nectar points- desperate times!)

House is looking clean and tidy just packed a lunch and off for a drive with a friend to go exploring (who knows where!)

Wishing everyone a lovely sunny Saturday!

I didn't get much wardrobe shuffling done afterall today; instead I bought a nice scarf that will do a grand job of fabbing up an old top and I also got a lipstick.

I was pleasantly surprised to find so many of the latest lip products seem to be matte, rather than wet and glossy as I wanted something nudey / not obvious. It didn't take me long to decide on the new Suede effect one by Revlon; it's more like a coloured lip balm than lipstick and I am really pleased with it.

How terribly un-MSE of me I only went out to go to the library - I seem to be enjoying this too much.

I was having a ball in the shop, tried a squirt of Clarins Eau Dynamisante; another lovely fresh and zesty perfume to add to the list. I also tried a big splodge of their anti-aging serum on the backs of my hands.

    Afternoon All

Well done on the weight loss Welsh Woofer. I am still struggling to cut calories. I overate yesterday. However, I have been fairly good today - we went out for lunch but I had extra vegetables and no potatoes and drank water. I'm just defrosting and heating up some home made chicken and vegetable soup to take with me to work. It's quite thick so I shan't need any bread. We cycled to the restaurant and I shall walk to work so had a bit of exercise.

I have been fabbing a bit more of the house today. My bathroom was a blank canvas being very bland so I decided to put all my blue and white Wedgewood and Delft in there and use that as a basis for a colour scheme. I had seen some lovely Toile de Jouy curtains which were quite a dark blue on a white background but they were far too expensive. So I've been keeping my eyes open in the charity shops and picked up some curtains with a blue and green pattern on the other day. There's more green than I originally wanted but they were only £3.50 so I'm using them for the time being. Today I got DH to put up a curtain pole and I hung them. I intend to shorten them and make tie backs but just held them back with a ribbon for the time being. From the same charity shop I also got a pretty bluey-green clock to hang above the mirror.

I am quite pleased with the effect for the time being.

Must dash as I have work at 5 and need to get changed. Enjoy your weekend folks.

    Good morning everyone

    Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Yesterday I was very good, returned the sale jeans that were way too tight on my calves. WI cancelled as the machine was out of order. Will weigh in next week and see what the result is.

Listed plenty on fleabay yesterday to clear out and repay the CC's.

So today then, plenty of fab jobs to do - facemask, exfoliate, hairmask, nails to tidy and paint along with the usuals

Update - back from a walk around the water park - it was warm out there! Hair treated, kitchen and fridge wiped down and out. Coffee treat time, then some mopping then some tidying up in the garden

  • Hi all, I keep meaning to post on here as I've subscribed and I think I did a little hello post a while back. I keep this thread in mind every day now but I'm still struggling to make any effort of myself.

    Must try harder!

    Hi all,

Bit of a miserable day here, chucking it down. Don't have any major plans though so apart from maybe a quick nip to the corner shop can get away with staying in the dry :) Had a lovely productive writing day yesterday, got about 5k down and finally know where one of my WIPs is going (though then they promptly took me off on a wee detour lol!). Good to be feeling back in that mindset again. I think outside stresses affect me way too much in terms of that :(
Anyway, hoping to get some more down today but will try and fit some fabbing in as well. Nails really need doing and will do a deep condition on my hair as it's looking a little dry. Not sure if OH's friend is round all day or not - don't mind him being round but may need to keep it to a quicker shower rather that 3hrs in the bathroom when there's people round :rotfl:
Anyways, best get to it, hope everyone is having a good day x
