I keep one or two metal hangers to remove static from clothes. Just draw the metal hanger down the garment and as if by magic it draws out the static! Very quick if you are in a hurry.

So whilst I agree with you LL about using metal hangers for storing clothes they do actually have a use:)

I never knew that! And I don't have a metal coat hanger <weeps> sadly they all were used over the years for hooks to pin down floral arrangements on my grans grave LOL all the ones we get from dry cleaners are plastic.

Not much to report, walking for hours yesterday as H, myself and the kids visited Warwick Castle. I may not have lost lbs in weight but boy oh boy my purse definitely has :eek:

Just a plodding day here today, some housework and visiting friends this afternoon, the latter being fabbing for the soul :D

Hope everyone has had a fab Friday?
I've done everything today except what I'm supposed to be doing - marking :o Just had no motivation for it at all. Oh well, I suppose I work better under pressure - will have to!

Been through the main wardrobe and had a clear out - anything that was too big, not worn or still had tags on since being bought has gone. I've been brutal! I've listed the stuff with tags and once worn things on ebay and the rest is in a big bag for the charity shop. Not a wire hanger in sight either! Hopefully I'll get a few pounds for the ebay stuff.

I have lots of nice tops but very few bottoms that aren't jeans (if any) if you don't count all my work clothes. Will give it a few weeks and then go for a mooch around the shops to see if I can find anything casual but smarter than jeans.
I need a Gok to come with me! Any takers?:)

Managed a good swim using the Groupon voucher too so feel like I can have a choccie biccy later if I fancy it.

I had a great afternoon at my fab work placement today, a brill place and looking forward to getting stuck into some work in a new area. Also took the plunge to submit mt PhD appl'n - don't think I'll get it,but worth a try all the same. Plus I'm off to see uni careers next week to update my CV some more and hopefully get better equipped for all these appl'ns and get a job I really want. A fab afternoon all round!

Lots of fab walking too to add into the bargain - will WI tomorrow and see if any of those lbs from last week have dropped off magically!

What else? A quiet weekend as have a lot of uni work to get through along with weekend usual cleaning catch up and so on. Will have a walk up to town tomorrow collect my sale order and see how my jeans look which were a bargain so will fab myself up a little then

    Happy fabbing everyone!

Evening All, I've been asleep on the sofa this evening so have just roused myself to put my electric blanket on and post then I shall have an early night as I am so tired. I went out for a run this morning but had to cut it short as my legs just didn't want to work! Mind you, after 15 flights of steps on Wednesday, giving blood yesterday and a very busy week I suppose it isn't surprising. Anyhow, I have already covered the 100k challenge with (I think) a week to go so can't complain.

I picked up a couple of tops in a charity shop on Tuesday - an H and M stripy navy blue and white top to wear with jeans which I wore yesterday and a Hobbs little black cardigan edged with white which I wore today for work with a grey jersey dress and the faithful thick black tights and flat shoes. I got 2 compliments today - one for my outfit and one for my hair so Fab Friday obviously worked for me.

Right, I am drooping at the computer so am going to retire to bed with my Kindle. Have a great weekend everyone.

Nanight Rose no wonder you're tired! How do you find giving blood? I've done it a couple of times but always feel very faint which puts me off...

Big Hugs to those feeling rubbishy and hormonal!

Lessonlearned- sounds like it's all very much full steam ahead how exciting.

After complaining that I was feeling at a lose end for the first week of my holiday I have spent the second week feel very ill and have been put on antibiotics for a chest infection. Sod's law eh!

Checked my work to do list that I made at the start of the holidays and was pleased to see that I have actually somehow managed to do most of it (the rest will be finished lastminute.com on Sunday evening!) So actually combine that with having my bathroom done and doing bits of painting, sorting and cleaning in the flat it has been a fairly successful holiday.

Hopefully heading up into the countryside tomorrow with a good friend and a picnic for some good fresh air if my lungs are feeling upto it.

I have the kindle on charge and a bottle of wine in the fridge ready for a lovely early night.

Also good tip off- fancied a little treat today so went into Lush and bought a bath bomb- forget the name but something to do with butter, it was lovely in my bath tonight, left my skin feeling really soft and smells delish even through a blocked nose.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday evening!

  • Evening, well i fabbed up today with a dress, thick tights, boots and cardy with hair straightened and make up! I made the effort!

Went for coffee with a colleague for lunch and she said was really glad i asked her. Then my sis is visiting friends where i live so we went for dinner tonight and she paid and a really nice treat to see her :).

I'm still shattered and not feeling great (can't put my finger on why not) hoping a good night sleep will set me right.

    Eh xx

Ooo fab friday thanks for the reminder

Yay it's the weekend already! I didn't know about fab Friday but did so anyway. We have casual Fridays at work but since I was going to an all day meeting with people I didn't know very well, I fabbed myself up a bit and wore a new top and necklace. I can't remember the last time I wore anything but my everyday rings and earrings - so I did feel extra glam.

I also went and had my roots done, therefore feeling much better about my hair again.

This weekend I plan to fab up my wardrobe a bit, summer is definitely over and I'm struggling to know what to wear in these colder mornings. I am hoping to have a change around; biff out some of the old and comfy gear and have a play about with some warmer outfits.

Morning all! Lots of good fabbing going on! It seems like many of you made an effort for Fab Friday (I didn't!)

The furniture is supposed to be delivered this morning (by 11am) so I'm waiting around for that before I can get out and about.
I'm hoping to get to the gym and whizz round Tescos and, if time allows, to get my eyebrows done. Then its marking time :(

Its a nice day here so far so I'll get a good walk in with the dog too as well as the usual ones. I've booked him in for next Saturday for a fabbing session too - he looks like an overgrown teddy bear at the moment and with the weather getting milder he's too hot so its sheep shearing time for him. (His hair cut costs as much as mine!).
Its weigh in day today but I'm not holding my breath for any miracles.....
