    Hi all,

Rose - your house looks lovely, I really like that style and go you on on the running :) Regarding your trip to London, while I do love the dress and boots look anytime I've been to London has involved a huge amount of walking and I must admit my feet would be killing me in heels. Do you maybe have any flat boots?

Rummer - I've been just the same lately, I was very good yesterday until about teatime and then ended up having some beers and a chip butty :o back on the wagon!

ww - sounds like the decorating is going well :) will have a look at the groupon offer, am trying to think if I have one of those gyms near me.

EH - am sure the tests will be fine, but hope it's all cleared up soon so you can get a decent night's sleep! x

Anyway, had a long weekend though must admit wasn't the best one. Job is getting to me again and poor OH ended up rather taking the brunt of it :( Am going to try and speak to them this week about moving onto part time in a few months when OH leaves uni - I keep worrying over whether it will backfire and I won't be able to get any help in the meantime etc but think I just need to go for it. Went to visit his gran as well and she's told us that she'll be giving us a bit of money soon so hopefully we can use that to invest in some equipment for the business and tide us over if it needs to. Didn't sleep very well last night and in on my own at work today so not feeling very fab I must admit :o Will try and stay awake long enough tonight to sort out my nails and do a deep condition on my hair.
Hope everyone is having a good day x

Sorry to hear you're a bit down pod and sparkles feeling poorly. Hope you both pick up soon. You too EH.

Have done a little fabbing today on bathroom cupboard. It's where I keep all medicines and basic toiletries. Some bits I've thrown (just how many hotel shower caps does a person need?;)) and I've extracted some foot creams I'm determined to use. Who knows we might get some sun and be able to wear sandals!! It's also been a good exercise to find out exactly what is in there so that I don't buy something I've already got.

rose, when I spend the day in London I always wear flat shoes whether it's boots or pumps or whatever. I wear them with jeans or trousers as if they're comfy but clumpy shoes the trousers sort of disguise them. Although you need to wrap up warm I'd advise wearing a nice top or smart jumper underneath. That way if you're sitting at a table in a restaurant, you'll look elegant from the waist up! Do share what you plan to do in London. Do you know the show or are you going to the booth in Leicester Square? Which restaurants do you use?

I've got the voucher for the pool/gym now I need to work out what to do.:o I've never used one before.

Maman - just been looking at my voucher - I think the easiest thing to do is just print it out and turn up at the gym. Mine said that I couldn't use it before noon today but then anytime after that is ok. Must be an admin thing?

Thanks for your help. I've printed mine off and I can see how to get the passes now. Basically, once you press submit and get the passes you've got 6 weeks to use them up. When I've decided which day I'm going first I'll print them then.

pod, I checked and your nearest one is in Glasgow!:(

I know my local one does classes in things like yoga and Pilates plus the steam room and pool. Might be useful for LL and anyone else with poorly backs/joints. At £1.70 a session it's excellent.
  • Evening All,

Thanks for hugs needed today, no idea what the dr's are testing/looking for but my fourth blood test in 2 months. I don't feel ill but don't feel 100% either but doing what I can healthy diet, vitamins, exercise and fabbing to perk myself up.

Will catch up with news once i've eaten dinner easier to read on laptop rather than phone.

    Eh xx

    Hello Everyone

I've just been catching up with all your news - lots going on here.

EH - sorry to hear you are poorly - are they testing for thyroid function perhaps.......I do think the medical profession should actually tell you what tests are for. They really shouldn't leave you in the dark to worry and fret.

Maman -Yes I really ought to try something like a structured pilates class. It would probably help my back a great deal.

Like the sound of your ideas for a London outfit and I would definitely agree with the comfy shoes.

I had a friend who was married to a merchant seaman. She travelled all over the world with him. Her tip for sightseeing was to have a second pair of shoes in her bag. When her feet got hot and tired she changed shoes - she swore by this and said it really helped.

I sometimes use peppermint foot gel when my feet get hot and tired in summer. When I worked on site I used to keep it in the fridge. Ice cold gel really helped revive my poor tired tootsies. Again I kept spare shoes in my desk too.

Anyway a bit of a mixed day. OH really not too well at the moment - he gets so tired these days. After a couple of hours of my company he is falling asleep. It doesn't take much to wear him out.

After visiting him I met my old neighbour for coffee and a natter. Lovely to have a catch up. It's all part of my must get out and about a bit more masterplan. Afternoon tea or coffee in a garden centre may be a bit more "old lady" than "rock and roll" but it's a start. And I do love mooching round looking at the plants and flowers......

Anyway - time to get the evening routine done and an early (ish) night.

    G'night all X

Who cares about being "rock and roll" if you enjoy it! Whatever floats your boat!

I'm determined to get to the gym this morning - couldn't print the voucher off at home yesterday so will go to work (only down the road from the gym) and do it this morning.
Oddly, there are 2 LA Fitness gyms in my town/suburb, both within about 2-3 miles of my house so I really have no excuse.

I need to carry on with the schoolwork today too, made a good start yesterday but there's loads to do.
    Back later....

Morning all! How are we all today?

Excellent progress on the house fabbing all! Where on earth did easter go?

I have been lurking for the past few days whilst in the middle of an existential 'I'm single :( ' Crisis.Pathetic I know! I'm pretty sure it's just cos i'm not used to it as generally I am quite independent and happy to do things on my own. But have planned a little spa weekend with a good friend who needs a little cheering up and I vow that next time I have a big school holiday I will go away, even if it's by myself, to somewhere lovely with a big pile of books and stash of beauty products :)

I'm booking a docs appointment today but what's the difference between just having a cough/ cold and a chest infection? :( Typical when you're off work hey!

    It's a bit cloudy/ overcast here today.

Hope you ladies have got some sunshine :) What are your plans?

    Hugs xxx

    Morning all,

Maman - thanks for checking for me, thought I couldn't see it on the Edinburgh site :o Ah well! I did a sort out of my bathroom bottles/lotions etc a bit back - threw out a load but they just don't seem to have gone down. Loads of bottles with a 'bit' left in the bottom that I'm trying to use up and then it should look a lot tidier I think (honest!).

LL - coffee and a mooch round some plants sounds lovely. I must admit I've drifted much more into the 'meet for coffee' rather than 'meet for a drink' club over the past year or so - think I must be heading for the old lady club as well then :rotfl:

Mind you saying that I'm supposed to be going to a meetup at the pub tonight. Will see how I feel later, still not sleeping very well and bit knackered today. Not much fabbing done but did do a bit of writing 'work' last night - have had to replan out one of the ones I'm working, just wasn't working right the way it was so some rather ruthless chopping had to go on :( Hopefully it will help though! New lass is off sick again at work so in on my own and doubtful will get much of my own work done.
Have been doing my skincare routine again properly the last few days though and can feel the difference on my face already (not sure it looks that much different but can live in hope!)
Hope everyone is having a good day x

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all,

Well I managed to do paint my fingernails last night, just a clear, growth varnish but then realised...d'oh...I couldn't remove my polish on my toes or I'd wreck my fingernails! Did give my feet a good file and moisturised, they still look quite dry and rough but don't feel it. Going to try and get into a routine of hand/foot moisturising at bedtime.

Got squash today at work so it's back to drinking as much as I can.

Hugs to all who need/want them, keep fabbing xxx
