Bitsy - sorry to hear that you are still feeling a bit overwhelmed. Re the gloss paint. I cannot tolerate oil based paints - they make me ill. So I have now gone over to water based paints and try to buy eco friendly paint whenever possible.
If I do have to use anything oil based or anything that is particularly strong or that has noxious fumes then I try to paint outside. If that's not possible then I fling the windows open. I try to contain the fumes by keeping them to one room and shutting off the rest of the house. I also make sure I wear a mask even when painting outside because just inhaling the fumes make me feel dreadful.
A bucket of water containing sliced lemons helps soak up paint smells.

I've tried the water based satinwood before but unfortunately I don't find it gives as good a finish as oil based. With regards to paints in general I have wondered for a while about looking into paints which contain lime. I have no idea if anyone actually makes them but I once read somewhere about how modern emulsions work rather too well at creating a barrier to moisture where as lime based paint I believe is more breathable. I really ought to investigate this LOL
First fast day of the week, doing OK and have discovered I don't mind black coffee as long as it has a bit of sugar in it
Back feels a bit tight so will look forward to dog walking shortly, try and loosen it up. Other than that just the usual fabbing.
Rosewood you should be pleased your home looks lovelyas for what to wear for trip to London for the day.....could you wear jeans and boots? I guess it depends if you'll be doing much walking outside. Given the UK weather I'd want to be warm but still smart.
WW enjoy your week off

Just a quickie.....
For anyone that's interested, there's an offer on Groupon today for 10 day passes to LA fitness gyms for £19. Just £1.90 a go, that's good value - I won't rejoin the gym but quite fancy this, will have a think about it and then maybe take the plunge. Might keep me out of the cake shop.:o0 -

Thanks for that ww. I've just signed up. I used to be a member at our local one but [STRIKE]got too busy[/STRIKE] didn't go often enough:o to justify the £40+ a month I was paying for membership. Mine has a lovely pool and it'll be worth the money just to use that and perhaps the steam room and sauna.0 -
I was a member too but gave it up as I couldn't justify £40 for 3 or 4 visits a month and started swimming and running again.
But this is good value and cheaper than my local pool so I've also taken the plunge and bought it. Will try to go this week while I'm still on hols.0 -
My fabness today was taking my dog for our usual long weekend walk out after work and take advantage of the light and dry weather.
Not much else to report apart from filling in some of the PhD form while at work this afternoon and also read a couple more papers for the dissertation as some appts didn't turn up.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Morning All, had a rubbish night's sleep not sure if because time of month or worrying as I need more blood tests, sure it's nothing to worry about but I do.
Well time to get fabbed for work and get on with my day.
Hope everyone is well. Eh xx0 -
Morning all!
Hope we're all well?
Not a lot planned for today, just a load of dog walking, schoolwork and a trip to the gym to use the Groupon voucher this afternoon.
I've come to a bit of a standstill with the house fabbing - pretty much everything is done except the wardrobe sort out.
I might go hthrough my work clothes (suits etc) later and see if anything needs washing, cleaning or mending ready for going back next week.
Other than that its a quiet day today for me.0 -
I'm off work today as last night I didn't do a thing, had an early night, woke up feeling not good and thought as normally I get up fine it was probably best to have a couple of days of to get over this cold I thought had gone/
So, its 2 quiet days in for me wrapped up in a blanket taking things easy. Knew yesterday something was up with how tired I felt in the morning and also a burning mouth and throat. Looks like juggling life is getting in the way again, 4 mths to go and it will settle back down once the dissertation is finished. Certainly not up to any exercise though - grr!
Happily though it will be 2 easy NSDs gained as a result. And, yesterday, one credit card account was officially closed down after some telephone prodding at the weekend over the company dragging their feet. Onwards and upwards I go towards a debt free life - at last it's getting closer compared to where I was 6mths agofinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Morning all.
Hope you're all well and feeling fab. Hugs to you if you're not xxx
Well, the dog's gone back home so no excuse to drag ourselves out walking. Mind you, it's so cold and grey, don't really feel any motivation to go walking.
I am going to visit my bessie at lunch for a quick brew, seeing her's always a mood lifter
Tonight I'm going to have a bit of a pamper night - my hands and feet are need of some serious pampering. I always seem to neglect them for some reason. I moisturise every morning but rarely use hand/foot cream and hardly ever spend any time on my nails.
Run out of squash at work so don't think I'm going to be drinking much today0 -
Morning All
I've had a good morning on the fabbing up my body front as I've been for a 10k run and done 40 minutes Pilates. I'm still overeating though and must knuckle down to losing a few pounds. I knocked 2 minutes off last week's time for 10k but am still slower than I did it in last year. I think I am going to have to start counting calories again rather than being vague about it. I've arranged an evening walk with a friend tonight to keep out of the kitchen and away from snacks.
I'm off shopping this afternoon so will pop into a few charity shops whilst I am there to keep my eyes open for a few new (to me) items to pep up my wardrobe.
Have a good day.
