Thank you for all the ideas about upcycling. Its given me some more ideas.
When I've finished my master's course in Sept I will have some good ideas for redecorating. Upstairs needs repalstering once I finally get some money together and I'll be sanding my grandparents old chest of drawers down and either restain or paint and line with new draw liners along with my old slighty tatty old pine dressing table rather than buy anything new. I much prefer real wood furniture these days.
My colour scheme will be light and bright neutrals along with using and reusing as much as I can unless its on its last legs!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Another bright sunny day here - could get used to this.
Kiwisaver - where in NZ are you? I'd love to go there, I've managed Oz but never NZ. One day.....
I'm in Auckland and we had a lovely sunny Autumnal gardening today, so I left the ironing for some other time. I must have drank at least three glasses of water today, I lost count as I had some of them as halves.
After thinking all day about the lovely sounding 'Ragdale Hall' sugar scrub thing, it was such a big disappointment: not half as luxurious as I had imagined and no fragrance to speak of.
Made myself a super healthy lunch for tomorrow, hummus and salad, with sliced red pepper and carrot sticks.Mortgage

Afternoon all,
I've just bought a new hoover so I can join in with the house fabbing, dust lurking behind furniture never good and sure it aggravates my hayfever!
Will try to have a declutter while i'm at it.

I have done some cleaning today and cleaned out the drawers in the kitch a bit too so feels a bit better & completed my ironing pile although I haven't done any personal fabbing today... Feeling the low of heading back to work tomorrow after 11 days off0

I've finished emulsioning the room - twice! Am quite pleased with my efforts although I have very achey arms now.:)
I'll do the skirtings tomorrow and then its ready for the new carpet on Thursday.
The man came to have a look at cleaning the conservatory roof and gutters and I was pleasantly surprised with the quotation of £60. There's a lot to do and its a yukky job so rather him than me! He also quoted me for the painting of the fashia boards - that will have to wait a month or two though.
Its a never ending stream of tradesmen here at the moment - none that have been "diet coke" men though :rotfl:Oh well , there's always the carpet fitters to look forward to.;)
I need some tea, a good soak in the bath and a sit down this evening, what with all the painting, 2 dog walks and another general hoover round I am officially pooped!
LL - you sound in your element with the house! A good project to take your mind off other things and something you enjoy doing. Good luck with it all.0 -
Poor night sleep, dog disturbed me, DD ended up making me decamp to her bed and then I had cramp in my calf  Lovely H gave me a lie in which promptly left me with a blinding headache all day
Lie ins and me are going to have to part ways and I shall just have to live with the tiredness in future.
Had a nice potter in the kitchen this morning doing a bit of baking. Visited my parents with kids so head is definitely ringing as my niece and nephew were there too.
Water uptake has been poor, skin on face and hands feel dry (despite moisturiser) so am wondering if lack of water is showing. Anyway will prep myself for tomorrow, first fast day of the week and am determined to stick to it.
LL good luck to the boys and their project. Don't envy them living on a building site. I heard on news other day about the large number of people relying on a mortgage providers house valuation instead of a proper survey
Sweetcheeks hope you manage to get through first day back at work x
WW enjoy paintathonI confess I really like painting. Emulsion that is. Gloss I detest.

A fab day today!
Went a bit bonkers spring cleaning getting rid of lots of high up dust and cobwebs and cleaned the corner where I keep my bike. All cleaned and tidied now - result!
I have been on 2 long dog walks for over an hour each which was also good for this weekend's exercise as I'm not up to cardio with this cold I'm getting over.
Last bit of fabness was my aim of using up a super expensive facial exfoliator which has been in the cupboard for ages. Time to use it and smile when it goes. I have also had a facemask and then its feet sort out and that's about enough fabness for today!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
I've ended up having quite a FAB day after all. I laid in very late and then cleared up the house and re-organised a few cupboards. I have eaten healthily and hit my calorie target so that's a good start to my weight loss regime. No exercise but I an going to do the bathrooms now which shoukd burn a few calories!Seriously money saving0

LL, have you got any reclamation yards near you? You may get a bath and / or front door that is more in keeping there?0

Hi,
I've had a lovely day today visiting my daughter in London. The sun shone and we had lunch out and a walk round Regents Park.
I did do quite a bit of house fabbing yesterday though. I bought a lovely cream low vase to stand on my bookcase in the hall which is now full of dwarf narcissi, a cream jug to put all my cooking utensils in and a tiny photo frame which is now standing on the bureau in the kitchen. All from our local charity shop. I also had a brainwave and used my Annie Sloane chalk paint on a couple of black metal containers which didn't look right in my new shabby chic kitchen. They painted up really well and now match the bureau and kitchen table and chairs - a sort of old creamy colour. I also touched up the backs of the chairs which were a bit too distressed for my liking. I'm making patchwork chair pads for the chairs and am on my 4th one so far. It's very therapeutic sitting sewing when watching TV. I really love my new house, especially the kitchen and still get a thrill every time I come home.
Not so much fabbing of me today but I have a run planned for tomorrow before breakfast and I shall pack up another salad to take with me for lunch. I still haven't managed to sort out all my clothes but did try on a couple of pairs of last years trousers, which are too tight. So I definitely need to lose quite a few more pounds.
