    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hello all!

Lovely and sunny here today, though a touch chilly out of the sun. Took the dog for a walk this morning, reckon we did about 3miles, would've done further but started feeling hungry, should've had breakfast before I set off.

Working overtime from home today so can't take him out this afternoon as I'm waiting for emails so sat staring at my laptop willing them to come through.

Should be finished by 8pm tonight so might have a bath and do something with my nails before vegging on the sofa tonight.

Badminton booked for 9am tomorrow and hopefully another long dog walk if work allows.

    Hi all,

Just a quick one as should be making tea :rotfl:.

Kiwi - I really like the Next perfumes. I'm currently on the Nude one which is red fruits and vanilla, really nice but quite light as well - I don't like ones that are too overwhelming. They also have small bottles that are pretty cheap so easy to have a few varieties if you like to swop around.

Actually had a bit of sunshine today :) Went to meet a bride for a wedding I'm covering 4 weeks today so we went through the schedule, what she's after etc so that's something ticked off the list! Then ended up popping into book shop and buying some shiny new notebooks - I may have a notebook problem, I just can't resist sometimes :o
Think me and OH are going to have a wee drink tonight but will try and get a bit of work done beforehand!

    Afternoon :)

There is a giant glowing orb in the sky. Is it an urban legend? Could this actually be spring sunshine?
Spent morning with a horrible headache which is not what you want when doing the usual pre house viewing crisis cleaning :o as such there hasn't been much in the way of personal fabbing but the house looks nice and tidy.
Plans for rest of today are to sit on my backside and chill. Making HM pizza for tea so nothing too strenuous.
Back is feeling a little better but have been here before a week ago so not out of the woods yet.
My mum uses Pernaton Gel for her hip and no longer has any issues so despite it being expensive I am considering buying some to use n my back. No substitute for doing yoga etc but if it can help all the power to me.

Sounds like you are all having productive day so far, hope it's sunny where you are :)

Prophecy grrl welcome to the thread :)

Hugs and high fives all round x

  • So, fabbing aims for this weekend are:
1-finish touching up all white emulsion jobs in house
    2-paint front hallway walls
    3-run once, exercise DVD once
    4-paint nails, defuzz, fake tan

So far I have done all the painting I wanted to, have painted my fingernails and toenails, defuzzed, set my hair and tanned. No exercise unfortunately, and don't have a sitter tomorrow so won't be able to run, will do DVD when ds goes to bed. I need to ensure I do something as have eaten 2 Easter eggs today... Bad p_grrl!

Thanks for the welcome, hope to swing by regularly

Today I did some more house fabbing, made some flapjacks this evening using up plenty of dried fruit, nuts and seeds to ease my conscience and also enjoyed a nice longer walk with my dog in the warmth of the sun under a bright blue sky. Amazing how much better you can feel under light and bright!

Plenty of walking done today for exercise. Cold improving after this afternoon's walk and a nice bath with my HM bathmelt. Ace!

Tomorrow is finishing off cleaning and washing, bath the dog, long walks and hopefully some uni work if I don't put it off too long!

Our clocks changed last night so we had an extra hour this morning so I have fabbed up the fridge and decluttered a load of odds and ends of jars of jam and stuff that's been just hanging around.

I have drank a glass of water and finally finishe dup the bottle of water that's been in there for ages. I usually hate drinking plain water but enjoyed every mouthful of that refresshing and cleansing goodness today. :D

I've also scrubbed up the face this morning and slathered on some rather lovely 'deep level' moisturising face mask stuff I bought yonks ago and never used.

Planning to do body scrub in the shower later with my lovely M&S Ragdale Hall sugar scrub - again more body beautiful stuff that was never going to work whilst it sits in the cupboard untouched.

I see M&S have free delivery to Kiwiland just now, so I might let my fingers have a little wander and do a little shopping there later.

Meanwhile, ironing, gardening and dinner will be the recipe for the rest of the today. Boohoo though, it will be dark an hour earlier for us tonight.

    Morning all!
Another bright sunny day here - could get used to this.

Kiwisaver - where in NZ are you? I'd love to go there, I've managed Oz but never NZ. One day.....

Well, I have just weighed and have lost 1 lb.Still feel a bit bloated though, think its the hormones going bonkers again. But a lb is a lb.

Today is the start of the great paintathon, not really looking forward to it but needs must and it will look so much brighter and cleaner when its done. I'm going for a Dulux white with a hint of green/blue to go with the teal and blue colours in the new duvet and curtains. I bought some teal accessories yesterday (lightshade, bedside lamp, ornament) so its starting to come together.
A man is also popping round later to give me a quote for cleaning the roof of the conservatory (gone a lovely mossy green colour over the winter).

Going to walk the dog in the park and then get on with the dreaded roller..

Everyone is very inspiring with the home fabbing - I need to get motivated now.
I disn't do anything Fab yesterday - I was travelling and then being taxi of Mum. Shamefully I had a McDonalds fo dinner, so not a goos start to losing the weight!
Today is the start of healthier eating and more exercise to shift the excess flab. Have a great Sunday

I'm back from a lovely walk around the water park with the dog. A lovely morning. He's sleeping off the exertion now ready to go again later!

So, today will be doing a small amount of uni work, finish cleaning off in a bit after a coffee then fab myself up for a friend coming for lunch then off out to walk the dog again later this afternoon. Fabness for me will be dehardening my feet and a facemask later.

It's quite mild today and may be time soon for the fleeces to go back into storage at long last once the next couple of cold days are out of the way

    Good morning all

Just a quickie to let you know that we've had an offer accepted on the house for the boys. Exciting. Fingers crossed the survey isn't too dire.

Like you WW - I can see those paint rollers coming out. Your colour scheme sounds lovely, nice and light and bright.

I'm really looking forward to helping the boys out - but I think given the height of the ceilings etc (it's a Victorian property) I think I might just take more of an advisory role on this one. Same with the garden.......too much digging for my poor old back. Planning it will be fun though.

I think I will be happy just sourcing materials, helping chose colours etc, being on site for the trades.

One of my first searches will be for an original roll top cast iron bath. If anyone hears of one going cheap please let me know.:o

The house still has most of it's original features, coving, plaster ceiling roses, fireplaces downstairs, minton tiled floors, wooden flooring, corbels in the hallway, original pine doors, deep skirting boards - all good.

It also has some crumbling plaster, some damp, an ancient boiler, hideous cheap upvc front door, nasty "modern" windows to the front elevation, dodgy rendering to the gable end wall......

And that's just what I have spotted. Just hope the surveyor doesn't find anything too horrendous.

Whilst Victorian properties can be beautiful they can also be a money pit. The current energy rating is a lowly "F" so we will need to take a good look at energy provision.

Fortunately eldest son works for a company who specialises in new fuel cell technologies (they supplied the technology for the London taxis at the Olympics) so hopefully we can "tech it out" to make it as energy efficient as possible.

I wonder if they would like to "test" some of their innovations on our house;)

My son's are buying this together as a "project" - with a little financial input and design nous from dear old mum.........

The house has been let to students and is looking a little sorry for itself but hopefully underneath the years of grime there is a diamond in the rough just waiting to be unearthed.

I'm looking forward to restoring some of the house's faded grandeur. I'm seeing chandeliers, luxurious fabrics, restored and up-cycled furniture, thick rugs. DS2 has already commissioned a painting from one of his artist friends.....

Given the state of my poor old back I think my role will be mainly advisory - sourcing materials and chief tea maker........

Copious amounts of "builder's" tea, mountains of bacon butties, platefuls of home made cake.......You have to keep the trades happy.

It's going to be fun. :) This one will definitely be a labour of love. I am just hoping it doesn't turn out to be one of the labours of Hercules.

Still we are going in with eyes wide open. Technically it is essentially an investment project and it will be the boys who are going to be living on a building site. I'm too old and decrepit now for roughing it. I will be sourcing something a little less "needy" for my own house purchase.;) A nice swanky apartment or maybe an easy bungalow that just needs "refreshing".

Just need to keep our fingers crossed now for that structural survey.......Hope it doesn't unearth too many nasty surprises.

Anyway today we just need to get all the paperwork ready for the Solicitor and then it's all steam ahead.

The sun is shining here. Another lovely day.

    Keeeeeeep fabbing!!!!
