after an initial good start I have fallen off the fabbing wagon already
I have been exercising and went for a long family walk in the park today after gardening yesterday and I am keeping up the Just Dance 2 workouts which are great fun.
Where I am falling down is on the healthy eating front, so tomorrow I am going to the local fruit and veg shop to stock up and I am going to explore a couple of new recipes this weekTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Rose - that looks beautiful. Lovely job.
Floss - that's a great idea. We do have a couple of reclamation yards nearby. Will definitely take a look. Just might strike it lucky.
I also have a couple of junk shops that I visit regularly and a large YMCA charity shop that concentrates on furniture. We are very spoilt for those kind of places here. I am going to have fun.
I am hoping to visit a property auction on Thursday. Don't worry I shall sit firmly on my hands - you won't be seeing me on "Homes Under the Hammer" just yet.:rotfl::rotfl:
WW - you have sussed me out!!.
You are spot on - I really need a big project to take my mind off things. My poor OH is in such a sorry state - it really is heartbreaking. It really will help me if I can focus on helping my boys house move, and then later my own.
I have decided it really is time I did stuff and started to live again.
So tonight I have started by arranging some outings - only meeting friends for coffee etc but it's a start.
I've been living like a hermit for far too long - just visiting OH and my parents and only trusting myself to spend time with a few trusted friends.
Well it's time I widened my circle a bit.
So.tonight I finally picked up the phone and got in touch with a few people who I'm ashamed to say I have rather neglected.
Bitsy - sorry to hear that you are still feeling a bit overwhelmed. Re the gloss paint. I cannot tolerate oil based paints - they make me ill. So I have now gone over to water based paints and try to buy eco friendly paint whenever possible.
If I do have to use anything oil based or anything that is particularly strong or that has noxious fumes then I try to paint outside. If that's not possible then I fling the windows open. I try to contain the fumes by keeping them to one room and shutting off the rest of the house. I also make sure I wear a mask even when painting outside because just inhaling the fumes make me feel dreadful.
A bucket of water containing sliced lemons helps soak up paint smells.
Tonight I have been watching a couple of rom-coms whilst giving myself a manicure.
I too am not sleeping too well so today I have forced myself to stay awake and have not spent the evening half dozing on the sofa. Hopefully I will sleep better.
G'night all. X0 -
Rose the picture is lovely your right to be happy with it
I didn't sleep well last night, the dread of going back to workI'm sure it will be fine once I'm there but I always dread before I go back in

Morning all!
Its the start of week 2 of my holidays - where did week 1 go? I suppose I've done quite a bit and have got lots of house fabbing done but I haven't even looked at any schoolwork yet - unheard of for me! I'll have to get cracking with that this week.
Plans for today include doing the skirtings in the spare room (will have to pop out for a tin of paint and a new brush though first) and maybe a bit of marking to at least make a start. My new mobile is due to arrive today too so will spend a bit of time trying to work out how it works! I also need to pop to the library to take some books back and get some new ones.
So, not a fascinating day reallyWill see how I get on and maybe try to find something a bit more exciting to do.

Morning All,
I'm feeling very pleased with myself as even though my running friend texted this morning to cancel our run I still went out on my own and didn't opt out and go back to bed! We were going to do a 10K but I just did a shorter run (4K) and tried to do it a bit faster. We have rescheduled the 10K for tomorrow morning.
I've made myself a smoked salmon and cream cheese salad for lunch so now need to go and shower and wash my hair.
On Wednesday I am going down to London for the day with 3 friends to go out for lunch and go to the theatre. What should I wear? Do you think I should go comfy in jeans and trainers or smarter in a wrap dress and boots? I would like to look smart but don't want to spend all day in high heeled boots and be uncomfortable. Any ideas?

Morning All. Week 2 of my Easter holiday this week. Yoga session done this morning and going to have a walk around lunchtime today too.
WW I am wondering where my first week went too! I have spent alot of time sorting out financial paperwork only to discover that OH has two pensions from previous jobs that he had 'forgot about' - I had asked him years ago to have them both transferred into his current pension scheme. Oh well, he will get onto it today.0 -

Your house looks lovely rose! Love the furniture
I'm so tired from having hubby-to-be at home for the weekend so having a restful day today, but I've decided to keep a bottle of moisturiser next to the sofa - that way, even if I'm not up to doing anything particularly fabby I can at least get my body skin ready for summer a bit at a time
I will also get rid of the wilting amaryllis which has displayed some beautiful flowers but now needs to be chopped down! Will replace with some daffodils if OH will kindly pick up a bunch on the way home from work, until I can find another suitable flowering plant that I can't fail with! I always think flowers look so cheerful in a house and really give even a less-than-tidy home a slightly "loved" look. Although not sure a bunch of daffodils makes up for my lack of dusting recently...
Hope we are all starting to get some lovely sunlightGC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

I have had a pretty fab Monday and it's not quite over yet.
With no real intention of buying anything today I popped into a shop and asked for a squirt of CK One, just to try it you understand. I toddled off for a wander around the shop and at most, only three minutes had passed before I was back at the counter asking for a whole bottle. :rotfl:
I've been to yoga, drank some water and made myself a chicken salad for lunch tomorrow. Still time to squeeze in another glass of water and do some facial fabbing befre bedtime. I have not had a proper look at my face today but have to say I swear I could feel a difference in my skin texture this morning.Mortgage

Kiwi - another CK One convert! We're all so fragrant!
Well, skirtings and window sill painted and it looks much better now with very pale green walls and bright white woodwork. All nice and clean. Have taken up the carpet and need to get it to the tip somehow (only have a little car) so I'm all set for the new carpet on ThursdayWill wait for the paint to dry and then the new curtains and lightshade can go up - one less job to do.
Managed to use up a pot of gloss that was half used too so the one I bought this morning can go back to the shop.:) Must fish the receipt out of the bin.:o
Have decided to take the dog on a long walk this afternoon to burn off the vanilla slice that shouted to me from Greggs window this morning :shhh: - 350 cals!! I'll be walking to Liverpool!
Then I'm forcing myself to do some marking.....0
