Been off in the welsh valleys visiting a friend. Found it amazing as to how you can see how vallys were possibly formed years ago in ice ages.
Also, in some of the little villages, you can see places where whole sections of town were added, as the eye allows you to date each street! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
My cucumbers have grown bigger than I've ever had cucumber plants grow before. They have a multitude of flowers, & I think I can see a fair few fruits appearing!
Harvested a pot of carrots today, in preparation for salads this week.
Planted out a few beetroots that were left in pots. They looked like they were struggling - perhaps space was an issue? Anyhow, just hoping they take well & quickly in the soil.
Repotted the last of my tomatoes, and also repotted my chillis. Think that is likely to be it for the repotting now this year. Merely a case of harvesting later.
Spotted the first tomatoes appered on the plants! Good times! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
We're eating tomatoes now Lj!0

Will.
What about 'special' things . Who do you want to have your bowls and your ancient unreplaced clothes. And your music?
It is the special things that do make me wonder.
Unfortunately, it also makes me sad that I don't have anyone to pass them on to.:(It looks like hemmorage is caused by cirrhosis of the liver. The liver scars so badly that the blood can no longer flow into it and eventually internal bleeding results, usually into the stomach.
He told me he was an alcoholic 15 years ago. I'm quite a drinker too. Perhaps I should stop for a while.
So many assumptions about drinking. I rarely drink (very rare). Too many friends seem to drink constantly, and are unable to just have a couple imo. See my recent experience watching my friend go through their detox. Ridiculously young age to do so (over 10 years younger than I!)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Not to make you envious silly, to give an idea of difference of season. You cannot be far behind us. I only noticed they were ripe end of last week, but I think I had missed somebecause had forgotten about them

Got DD insured for the car at reasonable cost. Only catch is I've got to terminate my current insurance. Can't find the certificate, though!:(
I was originally with one of those companies which charge £26 to reissue documents. £55 to cancel. Not going to get much change back I reckon!
Slightly worried I could even be out of pocket if my refund money's less than the early end penalty.:o
Luther's on repeat right now. Brilliant show. Belter of an episode.:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

This one - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-37267591.html which we liked but was too small all round and we won't be buying as a result - shame though in a good location (pub nearby...) and really nice garden as well. Didn't like the extension on next door which reminded me of a nosey neighbour peering into the garden of the place we were viewing. I thought it was significantly overpriced given the size and anyway it wasn't big enough for us.
I won't post a link to the other one we saw as it's a possibility although it needed a bit of work. It had a really good kitchen/entertaining space (OH likes other people so we need entertaining space although I'll probably sit in the shed until they eff off). Need to see others to compare it to as well.
Thanks for the link. Not surprised you feel it's too small. I wouldn't like the front door opening directly into the kitchen, either. Hope some more promising places come along soon. Its good to be back etc I see the humour is still alive.
We have finally moved into a property that needs a lot of work doing to it so that should keep me quiet for awhile.
Its lovely to have Broadband back working on a land line rather than using a strange device called a 'dongle' that was as slow as a lazy snail.
Look forward into spending some time going back posts to see what has changed along the way.
Lovely to have you back, and congratulations on buying your new place. What kind of work are you doing on it?chewmylegoff wrote: »The one we looked at in claygate is less than 10 minutes walk from three decent pubs. Prefer claygate to be honest, I was a bit nervous about buying something so close to the river given the potential to flood.
Very sensible. Flood risk is not worth gambling on, IMO. I remember about 7 years ago going to a party in somebody's garden where all of us guests commented enviously how idyllic it was to have the river at the bottom of the garden. We weren't saying that the following year when she had several feet of water in her house. She's letting it and renting somewhere else now - can't bear to live in it for fear it happens again, and can't sell it for the foreseeable future because the flood comes up on searches.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Glad you found a decent deal. Who with? Easiest thing may be to not cancel the old policy, nothing illegal about having two policies - though you can't claim on both.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My lot came from there. A trip up memory lane (for grandparent) and he couldn't believe how things had changed, I thought we were stepping back in time.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
